Chapter Text
It had been over a week since Sasuke Uchiha had been admitted into the Konoha hospital, after his final fight with Naruto.
The two were like two sides of the same coin, both having lost everything but went about their situations differently.
Naruto was able to grow and get stronger because, unlike Sasuke, he refused to cut his friends and comrades off. Despite the village once shunning him, now he had so many people who supported and encouraged him; Sakura, Kakashi, their classmates, the five Kage, other Jinchuraki, Konoha, even people from other villages believed in Naruto.
Sasuke on the other hand, tried to do everything by himself and fell further into the darkness. He lost his family, his clan, and the brother who he loved so much, had been the one to do it. From that moment on, Sasuke only cared about becoming strong enough to avenge his family, and kill his brother. Yet, once he had accomplished his goal, he wasn’t satisfied. During this time, he wanted to hurt those who forced his brother to suffer. He didn’t care about anyone now, willingly cutting whoever off if they no longer served their purpose or got in his way.
After his final fight with Naruto, he started to understand how wrong he had been about everything. Sasuke wanted to repair the damage he had caused, starting with the two who never stopped trying to rescue him; Naruto and Sakura.
Both of them were in pretty rough shape by the end of their battle, having lost an arm each, and we’re slowly bleeding out. Yet by some miracle Sakura, whom Sasuke had placed in a genjutsu to keep her from going after them, had found and healed them. Once they had been taken to the hospital, both Naruto and Sasuke had been placed under her care.
She’d come by everyday to check their chakra levels and run some tests on them. Sasuke and Naruto stayed in separate rooms, but that didn’t stop Naruto from visiting Sasuke all the time.
Sasuke was sitting in his bed when Naruto decided to stop by, again. Both of them wore the mint green hospital top and bottoms, and both had bandages on various parts of their body.
“Hey it looks like that daffodil in the window was replaced with a newer one,” Naruto pointed out. Sasuke’s bed was the closest one to the window in the room. He had noticed a daffodil had been there since he was admitted. Sasuke suspected it was Sakura, since she did the same thing when he’d be in the hospital while they were on team 7. However, this time he didn’t have any proof it was her doing.
“Man, I wish someone would give me flowers,” Naruto pouted.
“Says the guy who has a bunch of fans crowding the village gates,” Sasuke retorted. Naruto smiled and laughed.
Just then, Sakura walked in. She wore a red qipao shirt, with a light purple skirt, and dark purple boots. Her pink hair was up in a ponytail. “Ok Sasuke-kun, I just need to check your chakra levels for a moment,” Naruto asked if he could stay, since he had already finished his tests for the day, which Sakura let him.
She extended her arms towards his body, the palm of her hands giving off a familiar warm green glow. Her eyes suddenly got a more serious look in them, something Sasuke noticed whenever she was working. He watched her the entire time, not taking his eyes off her.
“It looks like you’re healing very well!” she smiled when she had finished. “I have to go check on some more patients, but I’ll see you both later,” she said before walking back out.
“Man, can you be any more obvious?” Naruto suddenly said. Sasuke looked at him confused. “You just can’t take your eyes off Sakura-chan, can ya? People around here are gonna think you’ve got a crush on her.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Sasuke muttered, looking at the daffodil once again.
But…while I’m here, I should try to get to know her better.
“I guess you’re right, cause you already have a crush on her, don’t you?”
Sasuke turned to look at his friend, who had the biggest grin on his face. He scoffed at the sight, but deep down Sasuke knew Naruto wasn’t completely wrong. His feelings for her had been growing.
“Look, you’re blushing!” he continued.
“Shut it, idiot.”
