Work Text:
Jinx doesn’t think she’ll ever become someone that could be considered stable.
Definitely not right now, maybe not ever.
But in the coming months as she spies upon Ekko, Claggor and even Mylo from afar she starts to pull out of the downward spiral that she’d been unwillingly caught in since the explosion.
Seeing them alive and... maybe not well but safe at any rate settles something inside of her.
It heals some of the cracks that had been forming in the wake of their perceived deaths.
Claggor stops haunting her almost instantly, but Mylo clings to her like one of the monsters Vi used to make up when they were little and their parents were still around.
His hissing taunts and accusations carve away at something soft and fragile inside of her and it takes weeks of checking in on the real Mylo for the apparition that stalks her mind to disappear entirely.
Even now she almost expects him to suddenly turn up once more, spewing his venom and asking if she really thought it was that easy to get rid of him.
Jinx isn’t sure whether she’s relieved at his disappearance or heartbroken that she’s alone once more.
In a way she'd taken his presence as a punishment from Janna for her crimes.
On kinder days a part of her wonders if his disappearance means she's forgiven, but on darker days most days a little voice inside her whispers that that his disappearance means she has no way of redeeming her ever mounting sins.
She never gets a chance to work out whether their disappearance is something to grieve or rejoice though as Vander and Vi, who had originally just lurked in corners till now, quickly take the place of her brothers at her back.
Sometimes she thinks she can feel their hands gently guiding her when she's at her most exhausted.
They’re quieter than they were in life and quieter than Mylo was in death.
They aren’t as brazen as her brothers were either, choosing to disappear whenever Silco draws near.
They’re wary of him.
Scared.
She can’t claim that they’re wrong to fear him, he did kill them after all.
No.
That’s not right.
Powder killed them.
Silco may have shoved the knife in Vander’s chest, but it was her who drove away Vi and if Powder- if Jinx hadn’t messed everything up like she always did Vander would still be alive.
Cause and Effect.
The blood is as much on her hands as it is on Silco's, Sevika’s and that pig Markus.
Perhaps that’s why she stays then, not just because she has nowhere else but because they are all the same.
She is a killer amongst killers.
A monster amongst other monsters.

When they were little Vi used to chase the monster away, but she’s gone now and even if she wasn’t...
How could she chase away these Monsters when they lived inside her head?
