"What a surprise to find you out here, Sinner," Granson commented from over your shoulder, his soft eyes fixated upon you as his lips upturned the slightest.
The virtues were dead, the souls at peace, more than simply a few moons passing since. There had still been little to grant you peace in the passing days, especially in those moments of respite that seemed to simply drag, so you often found yourself upon the First in those times. Checking in upon Ryne and Gaia, Lyna from time to time, though you more often than not found yourself in the thrall of the hunt. It had reminded you of such times before the Scions, before Hydalen, back when the weight of loss had been a little bit lighter upon your shoulders.
Your lips curled upwards the slightest as you stowed your blade, y/e/c eyes shifting back to meet Granson's soft gaze. "I could say the same, Sinner, though I'm glad of it," you replied wryly, your heart fluttering for merely a moment. "Curious as to why you're out here all alone, though, I admit."
"Reckon I mayhaps heard word that you'd be in the area," he spoke with a shrug. "The lot hung back at the Crystarium, likely making a mess for Cyella again."
You chuckled softly. "I would suppose so," you spoke through your chuckle.
"I'd offer you come drink, though if I aught recall, you fancy drinking as much as I do," Granson spoke with a light tease to his words, that gentle, friendly tease he always seemed to have with you. "Mayhaps we find a quiet place and you could regale me of your exploits over some juice? Real juice, this time."
As you had suggested the Pendants, the room that the Exarch had made for you that the First kept vacant for you alone, the two of you sat at the lignum vitae table, across from one another. You had suggested he go first in his tales, eager to hear how the group had been fairing thus far in their recent alliance. The expressions that shifted upon the man's face as he regaled you of their most recent hunt, and the after, had you upon the edge of your seat.
Finishing his tale, his hand brushed yours upon the table for merely a moment, his lips still curled upwards. "Reckon I'm sure you've been taking on larger marks than we have, Sinner, but we've made quite a team. Getting Giott, Cerigg, and Lue-Reeq near the same bar always seems to end the same way, mind you. Nights like those make me miss the way we ran together, though I'm still impressed you hadn't smacked me around."
The touch itself nearly felt like fire upon your skin, your cheeks tinted the slightest, though you had not let your fluster show against your features, your y/e/c eyes soft upon the handsome man. "I knew you'd find your path without such resorts," you chuckled softly. "Tempted as I may have been."
His lips curled upwards more, before his gaze shifted away, standing to his feet as he strode around the table to your side. As he strode closer, he spoke with a hint of bashfulness you were sure you hardly had seen from him. "I wanted you to know, I really did miss you, Y/N," he said. "They're a great lot to run with, I reckon, aught the long nights leave me longing for something...I never thought I'd be yearning after Melinda." His gaze shifted back towards you, ascertaining your reaction to such a confession, a hopeful glimmer behind his gaze as he stood hovering above you, though you had shifted to face him. "You may not hail from here, but…"
Standing to your feet, you hardly wasted any time grabbing both of Granson's hands as your lips curled upwards in sheer delight. How long, you had thought, you had teetered such a line with him, and yet, his words caused your heart to overflow. Despite the way you felt rapture within your heart, you pursed your lips merely a moment, thinking over what such a feat would entail. An adventurer from the First, a Warrior of Darkness, of Light, and of the Source; it hadn’t been a tale to lead to such lasting endings. Lips parting once more, expectant eyes upon you, you finally spoke barely above a whisper. "I oughtn't expect that it'll be easy by any means, though I can admit I have felt a similar longing towards you," you spoke softly. "More often than not, you linger my thoughts, be it upon the Source or the First."
One hand shifted from your grasp, moving a gloved hand to cup your cheek as his smile grew. His thumb brushed your cheekbone as his gaze softened the slightest bit more, nothing but ecstatic admiration shimmering in those hues. "S'ppose if we're both yearning, we can find a way to make this work?" He questioned with hope laced in his tone. As you nodded within his grasp, he could not help the way his lips curled more, though his hues shifted to gaze upon your lips, before shifting back to your gaze. "May I, my beloved Sinner?"
You nodded softly, the ilms between the two of you fading as his surprisingly soft lips grazed your own. At first, it had been gentle, testing the waters as you tasted the hint of juice from the man's lips, before he pulled you closer, deeper. Though you could swear it had been a bell as you held close to your yearning lover, mere moments instead, which could have lasted a lifetime. No matter how unsure either of you had been of how a relationship between two worlds would work, you would not suffer to have it any other way. Ere long, you would return to the Source, to yet another adventure, while Granson would take to his group, another mark. For the time being, you committed the feeling of his lips, the feeling of his arms, to memory, knowing you hadn't ever known how many moons would pass before you would be able to feel those sensations once more.
