Work Text:

Room 420 of the Brookwood apartment complex, on E Saint Vincent Street, New York, was a quaint little place hidden behind a light blue door with paint chipping off. Inside was a tawny, brown-walled cottage core house. It consisted of soft blankets, love-worn and stained furniture, and the occasional dagger or gun hidden amongst the furnishings. Unbeknownst to the public, it was the sheltered nook of two of New York’s infamous vigilantes. This morning the two were curled together, happy and content in each other’s arms, surrounded by a small army of pillows and stuffed animals. Still asleep as the morning sun started to peek through the window blinds.
Wade groaned as the morning light shone into his eyes. He turned over and shoved his face into the bed in a pitiful attempt to go back to sleep. But no, nope, unfortunately, he was awake now. Wade swore under his breath,
He drew his head back up and shifted tell Peter was lying on top of his chest. He smiled softly and patted the fluff on Peter's head. The bedhead was reaching astronomical levels of needing a good hair brushing. Wade could hear the boxes getting louder in the back of his head, mocking him undoubtedly. He knew he probably only had a few more moments of peace. So, Wade prepared to get up, find something to do, be productive, and all that. Wade went to get up. Only to be halted by Peter tightening his arms around Wade's chest. Wade gently pawed at Peter’s hands, trying to disentangle him. Peter only sleepily squirmed tighter.
“Peter. Peter let go. I need to get up. Pretty please with a cherry on top.” Wade cajoled. But he knew a fruitless effort when he saw one. The combination of super strength and stickiness made Peter nearly impossible to move when he didn’t want to. With a sigh, Wade scooped up his baby boy with one arm.
Trudging into their bathroom, Wade held Peter baby koala style. (Holding Peter up against his chest while Peter had his legs wrapped around his waist) He brushed his teeth. Then he flicked up the toilet seat and took his morning piss, aiming one-handed. Finishing up, he turned to the shower and turned on the water. He checked the water’s temperature before he stepped in - it would be a dick move to wake Pete up with a cold shock-
When he stepped into the warm spray, he felt Peter start to stir. The smaller man squirmed in Wade's arms and looked up at him with big, confused doe eyes. Wade grinned at him before saying in a cheerful voice, “Heya Sleeping Beauty, rise and shine.” Peter croaked out a muzzy, “Morning.”
Wade shifted and let Peter back down to the ground, “You're stickier than honey, Bug. I ended up having to cart you around with me.” Peter opened his mouth only for Wade to shush him, shoving a finger up against his lips, “Shh, don’t you dare apologize. That was adorable as fuck. You totally should do that more often-.
Wade paused, and his face took on an animated grin, “-Ooh imagine it was out on patrol, drug bust, whatever it doesn’t matter. But this time, I've got you under one arm. We kick the door in; they're all confused; Distraction tactic for the win. I toss you at the leader and go after the underlings. Kaboom, the warehouse is a pile of rubble; everyone is arrested and were heroes. JJJ hangs up his hat in shame.”
Peter giggled, “Wade, what the hell. You're juvenile. Wade grinned back, “Whatever do you mean Bug? I’m completely serious; I’m Sirius Black.” Peter was beaming now. Wade fluffed Peter's stupid (lovely) hair.
Wade paused; he didn’t think Peter would say no. But the words still held an intense meaning to him. Peter shuffled, confusion and concern starting to peek through on his face. Wade finally spoke up, “Hey Pete, could I wash you?
Peter was momentarily confused. That wasn’t something he expected Wade to ask for. (In all honesty, he was expecting a request for kinky sex) his voice cracked when he spoke again, “yahh, uh yes. Sure. You didn’t need to ask”
Wade reached up to his toiletries shelf, selecting a handful of soaps -liquid and bar- and a Rubber Ducky wearing a pirate hat. “Hold onto Captain Digbee for me.” Wade tossed the rubber ducky to Peter, who held it awkwardly against his chest.
Turning back to Peter, Wade kissed him gently on the forehead before rubbing a cream soap bar against his chest. Peter sniffed the air as the soap lathered; it smelled like citrus, with a hint of vanilla? Peter was guided down to the shower floor, sitting cross-legged as Wade knelt beside him. Wade piously washed his lover, rubbing and rinsing lather over his chest and limbs. He tenderly rubbed at the muscles, pressing them down until they were limp and relaxed. Peter sighed as Wade stretched out his leg and rubbed the calf. Finally, Wade had saved the best part for last. He curled his fingers into Peter’s hair, brushing out the tangles before rubbing shampoo into the hair.
Shampoo? Peter opened his eyes, and sure enough, the foamy white soap in his hair was indeed shampoo. In fact, judging by the bottle, it was decently fancy shampoo. “Hey, Wade, why do you have shampoo?”
Wade played dumb, “whatever do you mean, of course, I have shampoo and conditioner. I’m not an animal.”
Peter gave him a look of pure skepticism, “uh-huh. You don’t have hair. Why do you need hair soap?”
“It’s aesthetically pleasing?” Peter shifted an eyebrow up higher. “It’s for my wig.” That excuse might have worked if he owned a wig, and hadn’t already tried to feed Peter a bullshit one.
“Alright fine.” Wade folded, “I have it because you are shit at taking care of your own hair.”
Peter furrowed his brow, “I take care of my hair.
“Peter. You used to wash your hair with Dawn Dish Soap before you moved in. Dish soap! You're not a duck Pete.”
“So? It’s cheap and perfectly safe. Besides, I use body wash now.”
“That’s not much better. It still leaves a lot of dirt and oil in your hair. It will make your hair flat and dead.”
Peter smiled softly, pausing, Wade Wilson, always observant and always subtly considerate. Wade reached over and started gently rinsing out the shampoo. Then he replaced it with conditioner. After a moment of silent consideration, Wade spoke up, “Side note Pete, you haven’t been using body wash on your hair. I secretly refilled your body wash with conditioner. You’ve been co-washing your hair for the past two weeks.”
Peter only hummed in response. Wade rinsed out Peter's hair before kissing him on the forehead before stepping out of the shower and toweling off. Peter remained there sitting on the show tile, Captain Digbee cradled gently in his fingers. Captain Digbee is one of the many curios from apartment 420. One of the many intimate details of their lives. Where had Wade gotten him? Did he have a story, or was he just a random purchase buy. Peter just felt so special.
