"Good morning Jay"

"Good morning Sunghoon" Jay smiled and wrapped his hands around Sunghoon's shoulder.

"They are so in love" "They are so gay" "omg the couples"

The two pretty best friends didn't mind the comments they are hearing in the hallway. Well, every time they both enter the school they hear it so what's new?

In every school, there are those two best friends who can make everyone's day and cheer them up. Jay and Sunghoon had exactly that type of friendship. Or....slight different.

They started as only being classmates but they quickly got to know each other and this friendship escalated into a soulmates kind of relationship. So compatible were they that everyone at the school thought they were dating.

It was only natural that all their friends would ship them jokingly. However, it happened so often that they both ended up 'living in the joke' - they fell in love with each other. Jay and Sunghoon took part in all the jokes and while their closest friends knew what was going on, ordinary people supposed they were joking as well.

Like everybody else.....they guessed that they were so close that they weren't uncomfortable being called as a couple.

Jay and Sunghoon spent most of their time - at school, at the library, at the cafes, at parks, and at every single place, they could go together. They knew each other so well that it was impossible to catch them off guard. Not only that, but these two knew they shared feelings for each other. But despite knowing, they never mentioned anything to each other.

Maybe it was kind of like a game to them - to see who'd give in first. For these two men, the tension was entertainment, the wait was thrilling, the turmoil was nerve-racking but in a pleasant way.

Year's passed. They are in their first year of college. But nothing changed. Only their love became more intense.

It was New Year's Eve and Jay and Sunghoon had arranged to meet up with friends to have fun as usual. There were five other people in their group- Jungwon, Ni-ki, Sunoo, Heeseung, Jake.

Jungwon was the only singleton, while the other four were dating - Sunoo and Niki as well as Heeseung and Jake.

Many times the other members of the squad tried to persuade Jay or Sunghoon to confess.

"Why don't y'all start dating already?" - Heeseung would say.

"Why would we?" - Jay would answer and change the topic quickly.

Or other times Ni-ki would tell Sunghoon: "Hyung, please end this already. We all know you're dying to date Jay hyung."

Then Sunghoon would brush it off like usual:" Quiet, kid. You don't even know what you're talking about."

So back to the present, they gathered at Jay's place to party for the last time this year. Everything was normal up to a point considering it was a teenagers party. Everyone was having fun, talking, dancing, even drinking. But for Sunghoon and Jay, the mood was different.

For the first time in years, they felt uncomfortable being next to each other. And it wasn't because of anything else, but wrasse of the tension between the two boys. The later was drinking a whole lot while Sunghoon was trying to talk to anyone but him.

"Hey guys, why don't we play a game?" - suggested Jungwon.

"Great idea!" - exclaimed Heeseung.

"But what shall we play?" - questioned Sunoo.

"Let's spin the bottle!" - said Jake with excitement.

"Count me in!" - screamed Niki.

Everyone sat in a circle and they started playing. As usual, the ones who gave up a challenge would have to drink a shot of tequila. A few rounds passed by and everyone was at the peak of excitement. Out of the blue, Heeseung got up and took some lollipops

Heeseung looked at the group of people staring at him questionably.

"What? The tequila is too bitter. I can't drink more without having something sweet."

Immediately after he said it, Sunoo and Sunghoon reached for the bowl to take a lollipop as well.
Secretly, Jungwon whispered something to Jake and Niki, who shared it with Sunoo and Heeseung.  Jay and Sunghoon were slightly confused, but they Saif nothing due to being tipsy from all the alcohol.

Ni-ki turned the bottle again. The bottle was pointed at Sunghoon.

"Truth or dare, hyung?" - asked Sunoo.

"Truth." - said Sunghoon confidently.

"How many people have you slept with so far?" - Sunoo continued with a smirk on his face.

Sunghoon got quite frustrated at the question and blushed.

Suddenly, Jay got up and flew out of the room, leaving all the boys confused.

A few seconds of silence were enough for Sunghoon to come to his senses, immediately running after the boy.

Sunoo sighed: "In the end, it worked out."

Sunghoon found Jay on the roof of his house. He sat right beside him.

"What's wrong, bro? Why'd you storm out of the room like that?" - asked Hoon?

"How many?"

"Huh?" - Sunghoon was visibly confused.

"How many people have you slept with?"- Jay asked sounding rage in his voice.

"What? Why is that import-"

"Just answer the goddamn question,  Sunghoon." Jay almost shouted making Sunghoon flinch.

"Does it even matter?"

"It does! It fucking does!"

"I..." Hoon fell silent.

"You what? You what?" Jay repeated himself unconsciously.

"I... I haven't slept with anyone yet. I'm a virgin" Sunghoon looked at Jay, who was also gaping at him.

Then Jay laughed out and looked in the night sky. It was almost time for the fireworks.

"You're laughing? Seriously? Then how many have you slept with?" - Sunghoon was visibly frustrated.

Suddenly Jay looked back at the latter.

"Is it good?"

"Huh?"

"The lollipop, I mean." - Jay asked.

"Um... - Sunghoon got confused once again - "I suppose it is. Try it."

Sunghoon handed the lollipop to the other boy. At that moment Jay reached out and kissed the latter.

Exactly with the start of the fireworks. It was finally the new year. Surprised and still drunk, Sunghoon did not answer immediately,  but after a few seconds, he kissed Jay back. The kiss was a tender one. Finding each other with their lips. Even the lollipop had a sour taste their kiss made it to sweet taste. When they both lost their breath they broke the kiss. Still breathless they looked at each other. The fireworks were providing some light for them to see each other's faces.

"Happy New Year!" said Jay with a calm voice.

"Happy n-new year to you, too." - Sunghoon was slightly embarrassed and rather red from blushing.

"Me too. And it was good."

"Sorry?"

"I haven't slept with anyone too. And the lollipop was good."

That was the moment Sunghoon's tension disappeared.

"Was it all about that?" Said the latter smiling.

"I guess I lost the game." Jay laughed too.

"Loser." Exclaimed Sunghoon.

"Then you'll be dating a loser?"

"Shut up."

"But will you?"

"I already am."

Then all the other members of the squad showed up cheering and screaming. But neither of the boys got embarrassed. They were happy to finally confess. Oh, they were so, so happy.
