Work Text:
String Gummy Cookie was always serious, composed, and uptight, and really there were only two people who ever saw him relaxed. The Director, Croissant Cookie — who he loves in a friendly way — and Toothpaste Cookie, who he loves more than he thought he ever could. Toothpaste Cookie could make him feel so much, like all the love he'd never expressed was just finally brimming over.
One of his favourite activities to do when stressed was to take a nap, because Toothpaste would always offer to play him a song for him to fall asleep to. Toothpaste's music wasn't really ideal for sleeping, but to String Gummy, it was more about the fact he knows it's being played out of love for him. So every few days, during String Gummy's rare free moments, he'd tell Toothpaste that he wanted to take a nap and the other man would pull out his (modified, to "look cooler") violin and his bow, and ask him what song he wanted.
This time, however, he didn't ask for music. He asked Toothpaste to take a nap with him.
"Like... cuddling? I mean I don't see why I wouldn't, but are ya sure you'll be able to sleep without my sweet music takin' you to dreamland?" As he speaks, Toothpaste lowers his violin and bow, setting them safely on the ground, which tells String Gummy exactly what his answer is anyway.
"Yeah. I think your presence will still help me sleep, and I... want to feel you next to me." He seems unusually flustered, something that Toothpaste notes with great interest before he simply took String Gummy's hand and led him to the bed — String Gummy's bed, specifically. He pulled String Gummy down on top of him as he flopped onto his back on the bed, then rolled so they were facing each other on their sides.
String Gummy hardly had time to process what was happening, but once all the movement stopped he found himself on his side staring at his very own boyfriend. Who then placed his hand on String Gummy's waist and pulled him closer, hiding his handsome face in String Gummy's chest.
String Gummy could only blush and move a hand to hold the back of Toothpaste's head, already feeling himself start to get tired. He whispered a small "I love you," then just let himself fall asleep with the other man in his arms.
With a smile on his face, Toothpaste whispered back, "Love you too."
