Today, you weren't doing anything special, being that your drama with the Shogun has calmed down some. That is, until Paimon reminded you of your most important event. " Look, look y/n!! There's some mail!! I wonder what from.." Paimon flipped the envelope around, then cheered out loud when she saw the seal keeping it closed. "It's from the Qixing back in Liyue.. But why would they send us something if Ningguang knows we've left the place?"
"Why don't you read it so we can find out?"
" Yeah, yeah.." Paimon carefully ripped the top open, before pulling out a fully bloomed glaze lily. Or at least that's what it was before it came in contact with the toxic, dangerous Inazuman air. "Awe.. she sent us a glaze lily! It's a shame that it's wilting.. Blame it on that nasty Raiden Shogun! Nobody messes with my Traveler and nobody messes with a glaze lily picked personally by Lady Ningguang!"
"Paimon, could you just shut up and read the letter?!"
"Can't read it if I shut up, can I?" Paimon giggled, before pulling out the gold painted paper from the envelope. "Now, for my world-famous Ningguang impression!!"
' Today is my birthday, but as you may know, entertaining guests always involves a lot of effort. So I thought, maybe this time, I'd keep it simple and invite only one or two of my best friends.
I've heard today that wild Glaze Lilies are blooming outside the city. I made a trip down and was lucky enough to pick one. Just like the rumors said, this wild flower is of high quality and very fragrant, rarer than the artificially planted flowers from Yujing Terrace.
Selling it to someone who knows their flowers might fetch a good price. However, Mora is precious, but good friends are much more valuable. This flower that I personally picked is for you. I hope you will enjoy its beauty and fragrance.'
" Oh, wow..." You sighed. It always hit a little hard when you recieved mail for one of your friends' birthdays.
" Come on, y/n! Let's go see her! You have all your Inazuma waypoints set up, so we have to!!"
"Well, of course we're going."
time skip to when you get to liyue~
Thankfully, it was still early morning when you and Paimon arrived in Liyue. That gave you a lot of time to think of a gift to get her. "What should we get?" Paimon wondered out loud, putting their chin inbetween their fingers.
"Ah.. If I remember correctly, Ningguang uses Glaze Lilies for her Ascension. We could make a bouquet with them and some other flowers."
"Oooh, yeah! Let's do it!!"
You and Paimon split up, running all over Liyue to fetch the best of each signature flower of the region. You were the one to collect the Glaze Lilies, and also some Silk Flowers. Paimon was tasked with getting Qingxins, being that they can fly. Luckily, you had one or two Naku Weeds left to put the Cherry on top. When you two met up again, you wrapped up the flowers and headed for Ningguang's place. When you got there, there wasn't anything special put up! All there was was a banner at the front door.. Paimon cursed; "Are you kidding?! This is the Tianquan's birthday!! This is too underwhelming for that>:("
While Paimon continued complaining about the setup, you actually invited yourself in and greeted Ningguang. "..Traveler? You came to see me today.. I thought you were- Right.. Your waypoint system never fails to amaze me. " Ningguang said, putting her hand on your shoulder. The only other people in here were Beidou and Ganyu. You laughed in your head, already picturing how annoying it must have been for Beidou to burst in.
"Come, enjoy yourself." Ningguang led you over to a table, where there were hers and the other attendee's special dishes. "I'd love for you to try my Qiankun Mora meat.. I know you're a great cook, so I'd appreciate your insight." She picked one up, carefully fixing its wrapping before holding it out for you. Of course, you'd do anything for Ningguang but you couldn't eat this if you still had her bouquet behind your back.
"Sure, I'll try it! But first.. I brought something for you." You slowly pulled out the flowers from behind your back, holding them out to her with a smile. Ningguang's eyes widened as she carefully put down the Mora Meat to take her flowers.
"Thank you.. Thank you. I appreciate your efforts to get me all these. " Ningguang went ant found an empty vase, filling it up with water and putting it in the center of the room. You could tell she really did like it, especially if she put it right in the middle where everyone could see it.
"Now, If you will.. um.. excuse me." She passed you her signature dish before speedwalking away. You heard that she stood out on her balcony whenever she wanted to think, so you assumed she went there. After sharing some of the mora meat with Paimon, you went off to find her.
When you came out there, you saw Ningguang staring out, her head resting in her arm. "Finally, I've found it." You said, walking over and standing next to her.
"Oh.. Hello."
"Are you okay? Why'd you leave right in the middle of your party?"
"I just.. I needed to take a moment and think about how great things have been going this year. Even if I lost a couple things dear to me, it feels like it was best. Everything has been going well in my favor, and I really appreciate that."
"Well that's great to hear! I'm happy that all has been well."
She cleared her throat. " It's funny, though.. because everything went good once I received news that a mysterious traveler was in Teyvat."
"..Me? What kind of luck do I bring?"
"Well, you helped in protecting us from Osial, and you've simply done so much for not only Liyue, but Mondstadt and everywhere else you've been. I hope you continue to do good for every other nation you visit. In my eyes, you're the most powerful charm of good fortune I've seen."
"..Wow. Thank you, Miss Ningguang."
"Oh, please... Just stick to Ningguang." She looked at you in hesitation, before hugging you warmly.
