Chapter Text
The cafe is quite crowded than usual as she steps into the shop that fills with freshly brewed coffee smells and bunch of people's talking noise at the same time. She glances over at a woman in a black coat sitting by the huge foggy window waving at her with a huge smile on her face showing how excited she is to see her best friend from high school again after spending 4 years in another country far away from Japan.
"over here (y/n)!" The lady in black coat stands up from her seat to hug her best friend before inviting her friend to sit in front of her. "It's been 4 years and you still look the same!" The lady in black coat closes her mouth with her hand as she laughing quite loudly.
"You too...have you ordered?" (y/n) takes off her beige coat and hangs it on the empty chair in between them. "Yeah I already did and I ordered you a cup of matcha as usual!!" The friend sure does laugh a lot as she once again breaks into laughter over nothing.
The conversation between two adult ladies inside the busy cafe could not be heard by anyone as their conversations got drowned under the sea of conversations between so many humans inside a very small yet spacious cafe that is located at the end of the block facing a really beautiful river that has colorful lights surrounds them as day goes by to brighten up the tourists' favorite spot.
"How is your husband? I haven't seen him since your wedding day" The cheerful lady with black hair as black as her coat takes another bite of yogurt cake while waiting for (y/n)'s answer.
She does not rush to answer,in fact, she actually refuse to answer as the actual answer is unknown to her as well. "It's alright.." She sighs at the end of her answer before looking out of the window watching a race between two rain droplets on the window glass.
"You sighed..." The lady in black named Iva frowns her eyebrow before taking a last sip of her coffee with her eyes glued to (y/n) staring deadly like a laser. "We are fine, seriously. Just because you hated him doesn't mean he's a bad guy.." (y/n) shrugs her shoulder as if she is pissed off with her own best friend who is still has a huge suspicion going on inside her head.
The ladies don't talk much since Iva brought up that 'husband' issue and just let each other enjoy each other's presence even without communicating because that is what a perfect friendship should be. One's company makes the other comfortable even without a single word being said.
"It's almost 4pm,aren't you supposed to go home and cook dinner for your husband?" Iva ends up breaking the comforting silence between them after almost 3 minutes. "He won't be home until tomorrow,it's okay.." (y/n) reply with an empty smile across her face.
"THAT! THAT DAMN SMILE! you'd only do that smile when you are sad or depressed over something!" Iva's yells invites some guests to their secret conversations as some heads turns to their table for a couple of seconds. "Iva!...it's not like that..." (y/n) drops her head lowly as her fingers fidgeting until it bleeds out dripping onto her shoes.
Iva decides not to make a move really quickly and let her friend takes all the time that world can offer to her until she is ready to open up about whatever that is bothering her best friend. Suddenly,(y/n) wears her beige coat and left some tip under the half-eaten cinnamon roll and immediately get out of the cafe followed by Iva who is still freezing to cold as she could not wear her coat properly trying to chase her friend.
"Where are we going?" Iva asks her friend as she finally manage to get the rhythm of her best friend's footsteps. "To my house" She said coldly with her boots hitting the pedestrian path making a beautiful clacking sound after rain stepping onto some puddles and break the water's refletion.
"But what are we doing at your house?" Iva asks while covering her head from the small beads from the leftover rain. "To let you know that you were right and I was the stupid after all this goddamn time.." The ladies takes a sharp turn to the left until they reaches their destination in front of a very luxurious apartment residence located just a few blocks from the cafe the went just now.
"This is where you lived?! WHOA-" "Stop it,Iva. Come on" The silly, goofy (y/n) has immediately gone once she realizes that this is not a matter that could be joked and laughed about. She wants to know the truth and wants her best friend to witness that SHE is the truth after all this time of being in idiotic silence. She pressed the elevator's button using knuckle bone.
"I hate to tell you this but Nanami is cheating on me" The silence inside the suffocating elevator has been broken by (y/n) who is now no longer could keep the secret alone anymore. "he- WHAT?!" Iva yells by (y/n)'s ear as the two of them is still inside the same elevator heading to the 36th floor.
"ARE YOU FUCKING FOR REAL??" Iva continues interrogating her best friend along all the way until they reach a 392 door. "I am" (y/n) replies shortly before putting in the door's password which is her birthday.
The ladies goes inside and takes off their shoes like all respectful people would do when they enter someone's house. "When and how did you know?" Iva turns on the lights and immediately gasps in surprised at how huge and aesthetically pleasing their house is. The double-story apartment is decorated by so many fine arts and painting all over the house that is being painted with bohemian beige themed. "I don't think you wanna hear my story.." Despite being betrayed,(y/n) is still refuse to believe that this matter should be shared to someone she trusts. The ladies seat by the kitchen counter waiting for (y/n) to go on the heavy details about her husband.
"Who am I to you if you are still questioning me? I am here because I am your friend" Iva embraces her friend as they sit by the kitchen's counter. "But telling you might make me break again, this is too hard even for me.." Tears escapes (y/n)'s eyes as her brains suddenly recalls all the memories that could easily break her. "But I'll tell you anyway" She continue.
