Chapter Text
1. Pigtail
Lips smacking loudly, Zeus said "Soooo... does any of us has 'Poseidon the type that like to pull pigtails if he's crushing on someone' written on their bingo card?"
Murmurs of dissents responded to Zeus' question. Hermes was looking particularly pouty.
"Bingo."
"Odin, how many times I have to tell you," snapped Aphrodite as she slapped a paper fan onto Ares's nose, "no using your creepy one-eye to cheat on our bingo!"
Outside, Sasaki Kojiro yelped as Poseidon tugged his ponytail roughly.
"Don't block my way, small fish." grouched Poseidon, the grouchy Sea God suddenly appearing.
Really, rubbing his scalp, Kojiro had half of mind to cut his hair short if only to lessen his daily abuse from Poseidon!
2. Pearl
Athena flinched slightly when Sasaki Kojiro almost walked into her. The curve of this side of the mansion was always too sharp. The Japanese demurred accordingly while Athena had to fight the urge to cover her nose.
The smells of clean methane and dissolved carbon dioxide wafting of the human was excruciating. It brought back long ago forgotten-trauma and violence indicted to her by her detestable uncle. The visions of her ruined temples and the mangled bodies of her worshippers interspersed with the lustrous shine of Sasaki's aging hair.
"Enough, it was an accident." she commanded shakily. Then, because she's an Olympian and regardless of her title, her heritage still rang true, she sourly noted, "My uncle is very interested in you. My condolences."
She paid no mind to his confusion at her words. Her sights were trained into the base of his spine, where the claims of Poseidon bore true to the world-- if you knew where to look. His magic lived in the human, white and deceptively pure, the colour of a pearl, insidiously creeping into Sasaki 's internal circulation and Athena had no doubt her uncle had found ways to sully the human soul's with his brands.
Disgusting.
Athena only wished this human would destroyed her uncle in turn.
3. Thoughtless
"Die, worm." sneered Poseidon in the arena a long time ago.
"Do not insults me, you stupid animal." snapped the Sea God as he threw away the offered food right in front of Kojiro.
"Good riddance, small fish." he claimed viciously when Sasaki Kojiro broke news that he'd be travelling into the far side of Heaven for a couple of years.
"Is this all you amounts to, human?" challenged Poseidon when they met again twenty years later, more than decade too late of Sasaki's thoughtless promises of 'a couple of years'.
"Do not assume my cordiality for friendships, samurai." barked Poseidon, half reproach, the other half disbelieving when Sasaki privately confessed of his romantic feelings for Musashi once upon of time.
"Sasaki." He whispered when Kojiro tentatively spoke of reincarnation. "Sasaki."
Kojiro cupped Poseidon's right cheek with his palm, where a faint mark from a sword a long time ago once happened. Thoughtlessly, or maybe, with intent, Poseidon clutched Kojiro's offered wrist and kissed the rough skin of the mortal. He let the press of a God's lips lingers. "Sasaki." he not-begged.
Poseidon would never be able to speak what he meant.
But that's okay, Kojiro had more than a lifetime to learn to accept it.
4. Trust
When the frantic movements had unraveled and the overglow came tangling, both in bodies and souls, Poseidon liked to lean all of his weight on the back of Sasaki, his elbows perched near the red ears of the human. Then, he gently swiped a fistful of white hair away from Sasaki's neck only to replace it with his sharp teeth. Just hard enough to break skin. It always made the man below him yelped and arched towards him.
5. Swallows
Poseidon whistled to the common birds perched on the branches sharply. All of them fled, except for a swallows. The bird tilted its head at him while its scissors-shaped tails fluttered in curiosity. It chirped once.
Poseidon hmmph-ed at the audacity. He repositioned his arms, conscious of the sleeping figure of his beloved cradled protectively in his embrace.
6. Kindred
When Hermes received the broken staff from an apologetic Loki, he barely able to stand straight. Ares, beside him, was gasping wretchedly and Hermes only thought was, I don't know what tea to make.
"Hermes." Loki started. Then stopped.
He should, thought Hermes, stopped talking. If he didn't talked, he wouldn't had to tell them that Poseidon and Kojiro had died protecting the Heavenly Realms from the onslaught of the escaped Titans, of Kronos, from Tartarus and Loki was a truly malevolent God, the most malicious of them all and--
"Together." stressed Loki, shaking and gripping Hermes's shoulders. "They died together, side by side."
"What used is that, if they're not here with us?" shouted Ares, destroying Hermes's tea table into splinters. Hermes should do something about that.
Zeus, his father had already destroyed half of the palace when news of Hades's fallen kingdom reached their ears (and with it, the decimation of Qin Shi Huang's Terracotta Army and Hermes never heard Kojiro made that awful, choked sound before and he never ever wanted to hear it ever again and if that voice rattled him that much, he could not imagined how Poseidon felt except he did, didn't he, because they're dead now and Hades was dead and Qin Shi Huang was dead and Hermes just didn't know what tea he should make and where's Jack. when you--)
"Where's Jack." said Hermes. No, the better question was-- "Where is Heracles."
Loki and Ares both looked at him before dawning realisation fell upon the both of them.
7. Torrid
Sasaki laughed wildly when Poseidon's wandering fingers tickled his ticklish spots. His counterpart wasn't so easily amused.
Sasaki was having his customary evening walk when Poseidon suddenly emerged from the bushes (the bushes, truly!) and whisked them away to a spot Sasaki had never seen before. Delighted, he almost managed to tamp down the snort building inside him before Poseidon did that for him.
"Hush, small one, and stay still." And the God proceded to lavish attention on the marks he left yesterday night. Kojiro sighed wistfully, soaking up the attention and let the pleasure from his partner's mouth did its magic. He tentatively carressed Poseidon's back with his nails. The God only bit his neck harder.
Somehow, Kojiro understood why his previous charges on Earth love having this kind of dalliances. (Easy works and he only had to babysit spoiled young noble lad and ladies for a few hours.). The secrecy and urgency were pretty exciting.
"You dare think of someone else's when I'm with you, human?"
Kojiro hummed slightly, scratching behind Poseidon's ears. "Of course not, my lord. I was only wondering whether I'll be able to complete my walk after we are finished." Ahh, cried Kojiro in his heart, even if he's centuries older than me, he is still so adorable~~
Suddenly, Poseidon hefted Kojiro into his arm, up, up, up and steady. The Japanese quickly balanced himself on Poseidon' arm, making sure he was sitting properly on the aforementioned limb.
"I'm more than enough to carry you, human."
"Oh, I know that very well, my liege."
Unable to resist, Kojiro curved towards him, and gently kissed the blond's hairline. He felt rather than heard the exhale of satisfaction leaving the man's body. "Thank you for coming to get me, dearest Lord."
"Hngh."
