Nothing seems better than sweater season. The cold air chipping at skin. Seeing the breath of air release into the sky. Of course there’s hot coco, what season can beat that.
Not only that it gives people a reason to cover up. Cover up for the sake of feeling warmth or insecurity, you take your pick.
The snowflakes fall delicately on the ground like a mother putting a baby into their crib. Noises of New York flooding the night sky never seem to rest. On top of it all, a luminous figure watches it all from on top of a building. He’s shaking viciously because he’s an idiot and forgot something important. A jacket.
Oh Peter Parker the one and only Spider-Man forgot his jacket like a kid forgetting his lunch money. He could go back to his apartment and grab it quickly or go to the store to take one. His body shakes and shivers, and sneezes from the cold chill.
Not only is his body numb and achy from the cold, but the binder on his chest was making it hard for him to inhale fresh air without it burning. Well just his night.
It would be so easy. But Peter is stupid and is stubborn. Evil never sleeps, nor does he. He doesn’t have the luxury of taking time off, even if it's fifteen minutes.
Peter was shivering like a helpless puppy, fingers feeling like frotested bits. Out of nowhere a hand comes to Petey’s shoulder.
“Well, well, if this isn’t a surprise!” Deadpool said loudly. Deadpool proceeded to sit next to him like he always did on their patrols together. Silence still lingers, and of course Wade breaks it. “What are you doing Spidey? Are you trying to get your balls to retract inside themselves? If you wanted to do that you could’ve just sat in an ice bath.”
Deadpool being Deadpool. Wade being Wade. Nothing new. All though Pete would love to bicker with them, but decided against it. Silence remains.
“Ohhhh we’re being moody teanager right now? I get ya! Are you hitting second puberty again or something?” Wade said with a smile.
Peter glared at them, “Technically I am going through second puberty, but- you know what, never mind,” Peter turned away from Wade again, pouting through his mask. His arms sliding up and down trying to get some friction to stay warm.
Wade raised an eyebrow. They shuffle a little closer to Spidey. Craning their head to get super close to his mask as if they were trying to inspect a crime scene.
Still looking straight ahead into the city Peter says through gritted teeth, “Wade, get out of my face please. I’m not in the mood for your shit.”
Wade still doesn’t say anything, still looking up and down at the Spidey-Man. Once again staring at that glorious ass for a little too long, but got right back to his examination on the moody spidey. Hmm interesting, indeed.
Wade then perks up to a realisation.
[Idiot. Should’ve noticed it sooner dummy.] White so enthusiastically puts it.
Wade still stares at Spidey, the grumpy man, debating on what to do. Obviously there was more to it than Petey being cold, but he could at least try something. Wade knows of Pete’s awful habits. From him not eating right, to his god awful sleep schedule due to him being a poor college student. He probably was stacking up these bad habits again and it was going to crash and burn like it always does.
{Why does our baby boy put so much stress on himself and that beautiful ass of his.}
[Well it’s not like he’s really had anyone to rely on. He’s had to do most of his superhero business since the beginning. Hell he had a hard time coming out to us let alone anyone in his family. It’s not easy for him.]
{Yea, but why doesn’t he talk to us?}
[It’s not like we talk to him about anything.]
{Well… he should still talk to us. SAY SOMETHING WADE. YOU’RE THE MERC WITH A MOUTH.}
[Oh my god shut up.]
{You shut up!}
[Shut up!]
{NO YOU!}
[NO YOU!]
Wade’s head was swimming with the boxes again. Ugh what a pain. They were so focused on the voices in their head that they didn’t realise that their adoring Peter was looking at them.
Snapped out of his moodiness for a second Peter comments, “You good Wade? You blow a fuse or something?”
Wade responded quickly, “Nope! But I wouldn’t mind blowing something else,” he raises his eyebrows, smirking.
“Of course you would.”
Then back to the silence. This reminds Wade some of the first interactions he had with the great and powerful Spider Ass. Except he did all the talking, and Pete tried to ignore him. Oh, how he tried but failed miserably. Talking for hours on end about the stupidest shit. Whether that be sci-fi movies and how accurate they were to real life science to what the best ice cream flavour was. Oh pure bliss. It didn’t help Wade had a burning crush on him either but it went unspoken for many reasons.
For now though they were silent. Wade didn’t like the silence. That’s when the boxes talked too much, messing with him. His head and his heart. Talking made it so he didn’t have to hear them. Maybe that’s why he’s called the merc with a mouth.
Wade speaks up, “Hey Pete… Why don’t you have a sweater with you?”
Peter perks up snapping up out of his own thoughts, “Umm because I didn’t have time?”
“Well you’re cold.”
“No shit.”
“You’re also stressed too aren’t you?”
“What makes you say that?” Peter says sarcastically.
“You’re slouching, not only that you’re moody. Moodier than usual and look like you’re about to snap at the next poor person who talks to you.”
“Well it’s fine.”
A pause of silence and then Wade speaks again, “No… It isn’t. You need to sleep, baby boy. You need to have the right nutrients too. I mean taking testosterone has got to make you super hungry, right? Also you’re getting a lot of hair too and maybe getting stinky more easily so another reason you should take care of yourself! Ooooo what if you came over by my place and I can whip up some good pancakes! They’ll be so big and fluffy. I mean not as a big as your a-”
“How do you know so much about testosterone?” Peter asks.
Wade stares at Peter for about a second, “Umm because I’m a guy, and I don’t know if you know this, but my balls did drop once,” Wade smiles. Peter began to lightly chuckle which turned to a full on laughter, his whole body was shaking.
“Seriously Spidey? All I have to do is say the word BALLS and you start laughing your ass off.” Wade stood up with their hands on their hips.
Peter was gasping for breath, “I-Im sorry Wade, b-but that was funny as hell- HAHAHAHA,” Wade is starting to snicker himself, admiring how adorable their spider is.
Laughter dies down and Peter sighs and takes off his mask. He looks at the sky for a second smiling. He needed this. Him and Wade. If it weren’t for Peter’s stubbornness he would be asking to hang out with Wade all the time. He always feels warm around Wade. He’s never felt this much comfort with anyone before. It’s a good thing Wade is stubborn too. Because no matter what they kept coming back. And that was good enough for Pete.
Pete turns to look at Wade and smiles, “Thanks. You were right by the way. I am cold, but I think with me being sleep deprived, plus my paranoia, does not mix well at all,” he chuckles to himself.
“You suck at asking for help,” Wade blurts out.
“Well no shit,” Pete chuckles again.
Another pause. Peter was debating on sharing something else. His chest tightened at the thought. Being scared was an understatement. But it wasn’t even that. Wade was one of the first “hero” friends he came out too. If anyone understands, it’s going to be Wade. Pete’s body was in fight or flight mode and it pissed him off. Why couldn’t he just say what he needed to say? It would be so relieving to do so. Just open your mouth Peter, you stupid, no good, son of a bi-
“You’re thinking too hard again Webs,” Wade interrupts his thoughts.
“Yea… Something like that.”
“Well, you wanna share with the class?”
“Yea, just… give me a minute.”
And Wade waits patiently. They always do. Happily waiting.
“I hate how I look,” Peter stared at the sky. “I hate how I’m never going to be happy with how I look. The feeling of discomfort is always going to be there no matter what I do, and it pisses me off to my core,” Peter said with a lump in his throat. He finally had the courage to look at Wade, “I know you don’t understand it, but I needed to get it out somehow. I know I’ve been an asshole lately.”
Peter is still looking at Wade. Wade gave him a blank expression. The muscles in his body tightened from anticipation. The noises from the street are getting a bit too loud for his taste.
Silence still lingers in the air and then Wade then again blurts out, “You suck at feelings too baby boy,” Wade is smiling.
“No shit,” Peter just repeats.
Wade sits down on the ground next to Peter and is close… very close.
“Don’t worry I suck at feelings too,” Wade is on their side propping their head up with their arm, smiling still. “But don’t worry about that beautiful ass of yours. Feelings are difficult. I may not fully get how you feel, but I do understand the feeling of hating your own skin,” Wade ruffles Peter’s hair.
“I just feel trapped, that's all. Like everyone is moving and I’m still here. I’m not me. Everyone else is themselves and I am not, it just sucks,” said Peter.
Wade scooted a little closer. Peter could feel Wade’s body heat and it was warm. All of Wade was always warm. Oh boy. Wade then proceeded to cradle Peter’s face, “I will always remind you how handsome you are baby boy. How no guy could compare to you, from your fluffy hair to your big doughy eyes. No man even comes close to your level of attractiveness.”
There was a pause.
“Pffft, yea right. My voice is deeper than most average guys and I still get referred to as a female. I’m definitely ‘handsome’,” Peter said in air quotes.
“It’s true baby boy!! And I’ll fight anyone and everyone on that. I’ll even threaten those douchebags if need be.”
“Wade please don’t kill them,” Peter pleaded.
“Not kill, baby boy, just have a friendly chat,” Wade whispered.
{Or kill them, killing sounds a lot better really.}
Wade dismissed what yellow said. This is about Peter. I mean it always has been for a while at least. God, feelings do suck. He was stuck in thought again and Peter noticed.
All of sudden with no warning Peter lunged at Wade hugging them super tight. He felt Wade’s warmth again. He wishes he would hug them more often. Maybe he will from now on.
“Thank you,” Peter whispered.
Wade’s brain shut off for a second. But then hugged Peter back and a lot tighter too.
“Anytime baby boy.”
They both just held onto each other for a while. Embracing each other’s warmth like it’s the last thing they’ll ever do. After a minute or so, Peter let go but still was close to Wade. He smirked, and brought his hand to cradle Wade’s face. How did Peter get so lucky?
“Uhhhhh you go-good there Baby Boy,” Wade stuttered.
Peter just stared at them, just smiling. He lifted up Wade’s mask, and leaning over and whispering, “I fucking love it when you call me that.”
Wade had no time to react because Pete was brushing up against Wade’s lips. Wade’s eyes widened, their brain not processing the fact that PETER FRICKING PARKER IS KISSING THEM.
[OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD]
{This isn’t a dream is it??}
His lips were soft, a lot softer than Wade could ever imagine. Of course Wade kissed back, you’d have to be pretty fucking stupid to not want to kiss Spider-Man. Wade used their hand to hold onto the back of Peter’s head. The kiss was so warm, slow and soft. They kept doing that for a couple minutes and then Peter pulled back. Lips plumped from all the kissing as well as his face was super red.
{Cute}
[Cute]
Wade had to agree.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that,” Wade chuckled.
“So why didn’t you?” Peter raised an eyebrow.
“Because I didn’t want to get my heart broken baby boy,” Wade said shyly.
“Well, that’s reasonable, but I’m here aren’t I?”
“It’s still hard to believe baby boy, I feel like I’m in a wet dream,” Wade smiled.
“You dummy, this is not a dream, not even a wet one,” Peter was cradling still their face.
Wade looks like they’re going to cry. They thought they would never see the day.
Peter just kept on smiling. He pecked Wade’s lips.
“Is that pancake offer still on the table?” Peter asked.
“All day, everyday baby boy.”
