Work Text:
Pepa had a terrible day she had field duty. When she got back to the Casita she stormed literally and physically to her shared room.
Félix spotted his wife storming upstairs to their room, quite upset. He raised an eyebrow, standing as she walked away. He went up to their room after her, knocking on the door. “Mi vida? Are you alright? Is everything okay?” he asked with a frown growing on his face. Pepa was laying down on the bed, the room was a black grey type color which matched the lightening that cracked loudly.
She didn't answer for a bit " I'm fine…." Mamá had tried to teach her to hide her emotions better; it rarely worked. Félix didn’t buy it at all, opening the door to their bedroom as he closed the door. “Pepi.. You can tell me what’s going on..” he walked up to her, putting a hand on hers. “Por favor, mi vida. You can tell me what’s wrong with you.” he gave her a slight smile as he spoke. She groaned softly hearing the door open " I said I was fine " She didn't face the door, her eyes were focused on a mirror watching him from it " I'm a grown woman I don't need to be treated like a 5 year old who has to be supervised 24/7." The man walked closer to her, watching himself in the mirror as he approached her. He didn’t know what to say, so he stopped and rubbed his arm. “You’re clearly not fine, mi amor.” he started to approach her again. Pepa continued to stare " I'm fine I swear " She tried to hid herself with the blanket, she looks at the clock " I'm fine, just go down for dinner I'll be down there I promise amor"
He shook his head, his frown growing. “I’m not going to leave you here. I don’t want to go without you.” he finally reached the bed and sat beside her, removing the blanket from her body, revealing her face to him. “I promise I won’t judge you or anything. Can you please just tell me what’s bothering you?” he put a hand on her shoulder. Pepa grabs the blanket " I said go down to dinner, I'll tell you after " She grabbed another blanket, she wrapped herself like a burrito in the blanket trying not to be seen with makeup smeared down her face from her cloud.Félix moved the other blanket, spotting the smeared makeup on her face. He gasped softly, putting a hand on her cheek. “Pepa, I’m not leaving you here. No matter what. And if you want me to help you have to tell me what’s going on.” he told her as he rubbed her cheek with his thumb. Pepa moved away to the other side of the bed " I am fine Félix!" She didn't yell just said loudly, " I'm fine I swear just go please I promise I will tell you later "
Félix was a bit startled by the sudden shout, but he shook it off and went to the other side of the bed, looking at her sadly. “Pepi, I’m not giving up on you. I’m going to stay here until you tell me what’s bothering you.” he sat beside her and hugged her tightly, not letting go. Pepa didn't hug back " I'm just not okay it's okay not to be okay " She tried to shoo him off, she always felt a burden everyone always tried not to tick her off or try to stop her from causing another hurricane. “I know, and it’s okay not to be okay but I don’t want you to be upset.” the man looked at her, placing a kiss onto her cheek.
" I will feel better in a bit just go down and eat" She couldn't help but smile at the kiss. Félix noticed her smile from the kiss and kissed her again softly. He pulled away and held her hand tightly. “Now can you tell me what’s wrong? Now that you’re in a better mood..?” He smiled a bit. She smiled bigger " I had to do the fields again " She frowned " I just have to stand there and wait for someone to upset me it's draining mi amor I hate it " He sighed, looking to the side. “I know, mi vida. It’s a shame someone has to make you upset for you to help. But, you can always be happy too and help.” he said with a smile, before it turned into a frown. " I've tried, I burned the crops because I was too happy. I have also started a hurricane and almost an earthquake " Félix didn’t know what else to say.
Usually he’d know just what to say to help her in these kinds of situations, but he stayed quiet this time, continuing to hug her tighter. “Mi amor.. I’m sorry you feel that way. Is there anything I can do to help you..?” he questioned, pulling away from her, still holding her hand. She thought about it. She loved to feel his fingers run through her hair or even braid her hair. " Can you braid my hair…." Félix gave her a smile, kissing her cheek once more. “Of course, mi vida..” he started to take down her braid to rebraid it. He always liked it when he got the chance to braid Pepa’s hair. It always calmed him down, and he thought it calmed her down as well. “Is there anything else on your mind? We can talk about it if you would like to. Or we can just sit here.” he suggested, thinking Pepa was probably going to pick to be in silence. Pepa smiled as she let him braid her hair
" Silence is alright " She moved a bit just so she was lower and not several inches taller than him. He chuckled in response, as he started to braid his wife’s hair, adjusting himself a bit so that she wasn’t uncomfortable. After a few moments of tending to Pepa’s hair, he finally finished and tied it so that it wouldn’t come apart. “Is this alright?” he gave her a mirror, hoping she liked it. Pepa had nearly fallen asleep but she fluttered her eyelids " Hm?" She took the mirror and looked " Aw thank you mi amor it looks amazing " He smiled, kissing her cheek again. “I’m glad you like it, mi amor.” he chuckled. He looked over at the door to their bedroom. “Should we go and have dinner now? We don’t want to keep them waiting, do we?” he raised an eyebrow. Pepa hummed " They probably are already waiting, let's go " She smiled " Te amo " He stood up, pulling her up with him. “Te amo, mi vida.”
