Work Header

Your freckles look like little stars

Summary:

You’ve worked at the new and improved Freddy Fazbear Mega Pizzaplex for a while now. Getting used to how everything works, from fixing the animatronics to doing basic maintenance.
Since you worked there day in and day out, you’ve become close to Freddy and the rest of the gang but it’s until the higher ups move you to look after the daycare that you meet the infamous daycare attendant.
Considering you hardly knew how to look after kids it was going to be a challenge, because all you were good at was fixing things.
How will this conclude? How much experience do you really have in looking after a couple kids? Will love blossom? Will the daycare assistant assist you?
Sparks fly.

Chapter 1: introducing Freddy Fazbear!

Chapter Text

Busy, busy, busy. That’s all your body knew for the time you’ve spent working. Your brain seemed to refine itself into only strictly working and making sure your body didn’t rest until everything was lined up, clean and ready for preforming. As your brain worked, cogs moving like a fast paced old clock, you double checked everything was presented and in pristine condition before your brain finally let your body rest.

Whirring, purring with soft sizzles and crisp tiny blasted white electricity popped out of the thin wires as you connected each one perfectly and steadily as to not disturb the advanced AI technology of Fazbear entertainment. Pair of brown eyes bore into the top of your skull as your soft skilled fingers worked on crossing each coloured wires around Freddy’s thigh plate. A soft smile reached his facial plate, if he knew any better he would’ve mistaken himself as a human. He adored humans, seeing them live life like nothing could stop them. How free they seemed to be despite some of them believing that they didn’t. The life they could fulfil and the things they could do would always surprise him. He couldn’t get enough. He especially loved the children he got to put a grand performance for. Seeing their small tiny features light up with pure innocence and amazement as he sung and strutted the stage like he’s been doing this since he was little. He wished he could’ve grown up like a child and experience the giant world. He wishes he could now but maybe one day he can experience it for himself, with his friends and you by his side. Until then he adored you and his friends as they kept surprising him everyday with something new and striking. He watched you carefully as your hands worked on his thighs. Criss-crossing, down, over, up, over again until the familiar buzz of the wires happily making lovely delighted connections. There it was the final connection. He was finished. Ready to strut the stage again.

“Thank you again y/n! You always know what buttons to press!” Freddy exclaimed his gratitude as a huge smile reached his face, eyes seemingly light up at you. He always had a special place in his heart for you. He didn’t completely understand nor did he ever have time to sit down and exterminate his emotions and feelings as something always at the most inconvenient times, seemed to block that from happening.

You gave him a soft reassuring smile back up at him as you stood on shaking legs from crouching for so long. Dusted the dirt, dust and oil from your pants.
“I’m always happy to help Freddy! But please no one spazzing out on stage! It scares the kids!” A soft giggle tumbled out of your chest. A hand on your hip, acting like you were scolding him but in reality you were just worried that if it happened again he will have to go to parts and services and that’s out of your control. You know what they’ll do. And you didn’t want that risk of losing him. A friend.

“Goodness, I didn’t think about the poor children.. they must be worried about me.” Freddy sunk. If you didn’t know better you would’ve thought you saw his heart sink. He was always putting the children and or everyone first before him. He was kind. You knew it was in his programming but sometimes deep down you knew he could be just like you, feeling human emotions and having a heart of gold. He wasn’t just an animatronic. Any of them. Not to you.

You placed a comforting hand to his shoulder, while balancing on the tips of your toes to reach his height but even with all your weight on your toes, you couldn’t quite reach his giant towering form.
“No no don’t worry Freddy! You’ll see the kids tomorrow for your first show back! And they will absolutely love it! They’ve missed you!”

He started to smile again, like every emotion he felt vanished into thin air when you comforted him. A small unnoticeable whir escaped his system, was he blushing?

Shortly, your Fazwatch vibrated violently on your wrist, shocking you for a second. Your attention went straight to the small device. You glanced at it and you noticed the small text show up in all caps on the screen that shone brightly, if there wasn’t so many lights in Freddy’s room, the small screen wouldn’t lit the whole room. The words read:
FROM VANESSA
Y/N THE BOSS MAN IS MOVING YOU TO HELP THE DAYCARE ATTENDANT BECAUS…
And the rest was cut off.
You racked your brain, trying to understand why you were getting moved. Did you do something that you didn’t realise? Did you upset the gods? Did you not do a very good job of looking after the Freddy gang? You didn’t have that much of experience with kids. How were you supposed to look after them? Would they even like you? You’ve never been to the daycare before. You haven’t met that animatronic yet. Were they like the Freddy gang?
Your racing thoughts were cut short when Freddy’s hand waved madly in front of you. He thought you were the one who needed her wires reworked.
You stared back at Freddy, concern littered your features. You didn’t have any answers and it was annoying you, like an itch you couldn’t reach.

“There’s only one way to find out y/n… you need to go and see, the daycare attendant is very nice.” Freddy tried to reason with you. You appreciated his efforts at trying to look on the bright side and reassure you but you still had that nagging feeling in your mind that you did something bad. How long would you be at the daycare for? Would you see Freddy and the band again?

As if he could read your mind. (Wouldn’t be surprised with his advanced technology) Freddy commented.
“Don’t worry my superstar! You’ll see us again! I doubt it’s permanent. Plus you’ll be a good babysitter! You’re good at everything!”
I wish I was. You thought. You loved kids. But you never really knew how to look after them properly. Yes you had siblings and nieces and nephews but you hardly got to look after them. You were scared you would do something wrong of they would hate you.

“You’re Right Freddy.. I need to go see what this is all about..” you took in a deep breath to calm your nerves. Nothing could go wrong, right? Surely it was just to fix the attendant or see if anything is malfunctioning.

So, after bidding Freddy a sweet farewell, you started your anticipated walk to Vanessa to get the gos on what you were doing.
