Work Text:
As soon as stepping out to the garden, Ginny feels the drizzle on her face. But the approach of the right time has lit in her a bright joy which no bleak weather can dampen.
Luna's returned from her morning lecture and gone straight to the shed to check on her hibernating bats. Following her, Ginny sees the children in their wellies run across puddles and start climbing a tree.
The four-year-old resorts again to magic and barely needs assistance from the ever-helpful big sister. Ginny's proud of them, happy to see how, like their pair of mothers, they enjoy the outdoors. She trusts that Luna's example in choosing whimsical outfits will keep them from protesting against dressing up for the ceremony and the party which they'll plan together...
Soon! The law will come into force in March.
Luna, glowing winter-pale, appears on the threshold, astride Ginny's new Firebolt 2014. "You need this for your match, right?"
Ginny straddles it, facing her, and offers the ring on an open palm. "You loved to dance at my brothers' weddings. Will you at ours?"
"I will." Luna laughs. "Our valentines for boy heroes and Defence teachers were fun, but I prefer this."
