Summary
Each winter unmated alphas, betas and omegas travel to the fields of Marlas in order to take part in the sacred tradition of mating season. They leave their home clans with open minds and hopeful hearts, eager to see to whom their second nature leads them.
Laurent, a 20 years old omega son of the Arles Clan chief Aleron, had been held back home for longer than most of his peers. This season, however, he finds himself in Marlas, carrying the expectation of his father to look for a mate on his shoulders. A mate Laurent doesn't need nor want.
Damianos had given up on going to Marlas after a couple of fruitless winters. At 25 years of age, he's happier being able to protect and provide for his clan, as any alpha should. And yet, both Damen and his brother Kastor agree to travel north, bound by the promise they had given to their father Theomedes, chief of clan Ios. Damianos anticipates another season full of disappointment.
