Today, Ritsu has a promise made by his lover—Natssun Ritsu called him. His intention was, Natsume wanted to meet his lover. Now is the time.
Ritsu, who usually went about his usual routine, was already preparing in front of the mirror on a hot day, completely different from his usual self. By getting ready and determined that day will be a good day for him, because Natsume asked Ritsu to meet him. He don't know, Ritsu thinks as if today is the last day to meet his boyfriend. Ritsu's mind was unsettled. As is the case, there is something stuck in this heart.
Natsume is Ritsu boyfriend who has been in a relationship for 2 year. Natsume is the person Ritsu liked in high school. The person who caught Ritsu's attention in the way he cast spells and his seriousness while reading the potion books. Sakasaki Natsume, red hair with a bit of white streaks in some parts of his hair, and his eyes have the color of mercury. Ritsu was attracted the first time he met the boy in a secret room in their school library, let's just say it was love at first sight, but at that time Ritsu only recognized Natsume as his brother's former unit mate, and likewise Natsume only knew Ritsu as Rei's younger brother.
Ritsu still remembers the first time he met Natsume that time, Ritsu found a hidden room behind the library bookshelf, and that's where Ritsu first saw Natsume who was staring intently at him with a potion bottle in both hands.
The days passed, Ritsu met and spent more time with Natsume. Although at first Ritsu was often expelled and even treated like experimental material by Natsume. Either it was helping Natsume with the potion, disturbing and even teasing the young magician, or he was just sleeping there.
Ritsu, who had been interested from the start, expressed his feelings right at the promotion ceremony. It was very cliché, but Natsume also unexpectedly accepted it.
It was as simple as meeting Ritsu and Natsume for the first time, nor did he expect that his relationship with Natsume had gone this far. It's not that distance and busyness are the reasons Natsume can't spend time with him lately, but Ritsu knows that Natsume always puts his ego and dignity as a "magician" so they can only exchange news via his cellphone.
Ritsu met his boyfriend today, Natsume advised him to come to the place where the two of them met. It wasn't a secret place where Natsume always made his potions, but the beach. Strange, when Ritsu reads a message from Natsume. Why should we meet at the beach? Doesn't Natsume know that Ritsu can't stand the heat of the sun, so why?
The clear sky looks harmonious in pairs with the very hot sun, flocks of birds seem to dance in the sky. The sound of waves breaking when they collide with rocks gives a distinctive sound and fragrance.
Ritsu, with his black umbrella ready to protect him from the hot sun, walked to Natsume, the man was standing on the beach while watching the waves crash. It was so loud, like he was committing suicide by crashing the body against the cliffs. Surrender to wandering carried by the universe.
Ritsu remembered that Natsume had said that Natsume really liked the sea. He felt the underwater current pounding. Hugging here and there so tightly, so warmly, as if he had been ordered to calm Natsume. He said at the time. Perhaps, this was the reason why Natsume asked Ritsu to meet him at the beach.
Ritsu smiled broadly at Natsume, then Natsume smiled at him. A smile that is rarely shown by his lover.
"Natssun~ sorry I'm late." Ritsu opened the conversation. Holding his lover in his arms.
"It'S okAY, Ritsu-kun hOW arE yOU? HaVEN't askED foR a lONG tiME. IT'S beEN a lONg tiMe sINce wE mET BAck thEN in hiGH scHOOL, we kEEP EAcH othER buSY studYINg aND FOcuS on oUR idOL acTIViTY, riGHT? EvEN whEN we gradUATE, we rarELY seE eACH othER." Natsume replied casually.
This voice, the voice that Ritsu longed for. The figure of a boy who caught his heart the first time he saw it. His face is still charming even when viewed from afar though.
"Ne... theRE'S sOmeTHiNg I waNT to tALk aBOUt." Natsume said breaking the silence.
"What's that~?" Ritsu asked calmly resting his head on Natsume's neck.
"FiRSt of All, coNGRatulatIONS on yOUR grADuatION aNd IMproVEmeNT as A memBER of Knights. Ritsu-kun arE yoU alriGHT? LoNG tiME nO sEE yOU smILE." Natsume muttered as he tightly gripped Ritsu's shirt.
"YOU knOW, actUALly A loT of thInGS haVE happENED laTELy. I'M sO tirED of IT, bUt it ALwaYs fEEls fiNE whEn I stiLL reMEmBEr hoW yoU covEREd thAT smILE in MY secRET roOM EarLIEr," said Natsume as if it was hard to explain.
"Natssun~ what are you talking about? Don't be like this. I feel as if... everything will end. Shouldn't we be happy when we meet? We haven't seen each other in a long time. We should let go of the yearning and enjoy the beach view today..." Ritsu whispered, hugging Natsume tighter as if the person in his arms would disappear if he didn't hold him.
"I dON't knOW wHEn anD whERE wE wILL mEEt agAIN. EITher in THe nEXt liFE, Or latER. I'm sORry, I dON't haVE mUCh powER tO forCE faTE To bRIng uS togETHer. UnTIL finALLy nEXt weEK, I RealLY haVE tO SAy thAT wE caN nO longER crEAte storIES. HoNEStly rigHT nOw I wANt tO telL yOU thAT mayBE todAY iS thE laST dAy I wiLL be bY yoUR sidE." Natsume continued.
The joy that bloomed to Ritsu when he met Natsume was now gone.
Silence now.
So quiet.
So sad.
"I haVE tO gO abrOAD fOlloWIng mY motHEr, I wiLL alsO leaVE SWITCH. NexT wEEk I haVe tO leaVE JapAn. HoNEStly, I doN'T wanT thIS tO happEN, bUt I caN'T predICT deSTIny. ShOULd I aSk faTE tO takE mE tO mEEt yoU? DeFIniteLY nOt. BUt onE thINg I knOw. WheN wE mEEt agAIn, we'VE botH achievED oUr dreAMs, aNd... wE'll mEEt our new sOUls, which are better veRsiONs oF oUrselVES." Said the boy with red hair with white stripes, his mercury eyes lit up as he stared at his lover's red eyes who was now staring at him blankly.
The two of them secretly smiled behind their tears. Natsume took a deep breath, then continued his sentence.
Natsume said, “We sePAratEd foR A goOD reASOn, thaT'S whY I aLSo wisH yoU weLL In tHe futERe. Rei-niisan, Tsumugi-niisan, aNd thE resT oF Knights, EveRYONe lovES yoU aS muCh as I dO. WiTH eVeryTHIng yOu arE sO ovERwhelmING, iF yoU'RE okAY, so aM I. HaPPy, haPPy, alwAYS hapPY, Ritsu-kun.”
Ritsu brought Natsume back into his arms. Warm.
Hugs became the answer for both of them at that time. It becomes a tough choice when you have to leave.
After the story is over, Ritsu remembers well that Natsume left part of his heart and now part of his heart just left.
Wouldn't everyone present always leave? Likewise with the morning, evening, and afternoon right? It's a law of nature. All humans need to do is accept and let go. Humans must have a choice, and now destiny is telling humans to choose between leaving and being left behind. Ritsu and Natsume have to choose one of the two options, but apparently Natsume has chosen to leave. The word fate chose for Ritsu was painful, but inevitably, that's what will happen and will definitely happen. Because life will go on and on.
Fate determined them to be together, but only temporarily. It has all become a law of nature. Whatever the matter of leaving, the rest is a secret and unknown to many people. Ritsu couldn't have guessed that Natsume would definitely come back. Ritsu couldn't force Natsume back.
Can not.
But, Ritsu will try to be happy according to his last wish. He would be fine, and so would Natsume.
