LOCATED AT OFFICE [REDACTED]
CONDUCTED AT 16:38:00
INTERVIEW CONDUCTED BY INTERN SAMUEL [REDACTED] FOR THE DISAPPEARANCE OF SOL GIRA-LUMINE
RECORDING START
Samuel: Ok, recording has started and we can conduct the interview. So Atlas, I have a few questions for you for an article being published in [REDACTED] News. Just for the recordings, you give full permission for this to be public information correct?
Atlas: Yeah.
Samuel: Great, let’s begin. Ok so, first question… How did you react to the disappearance of your husband?
Atlas: I was upset, obviously. He was my husband. How did you expect me to react?
Samuel: Just a general question sir, no need to get angry.
Atlas: …my apologies.
Samuel: No worries. Anyway, you were upset right? Where were you during the night of his disappearance?
Atlas: In the castle. I was in my room sleeping.
Samuel: Did you and Sol share a room?
Atlas: Yes? Why?
Samuel: If so, do you recall when he left the room at any time?
Atlas: …no. I was asleep so I wasn’t aware of much.
Samuel: were you at least aware of what he was doing before you went to bed?
Atlas: he was doing paperwork. In his office.
Samuel: do you know where he worked?
Atlas: I don’t believe I’m allowed to say…
Samuel: if it’s confidential, I can always redact it from the article. I just want as much information as I can get.
Atlas: I’d still prefer not to say.
Samuel: is there any reason you’re withholding this information?
Atlas: no, I just want to respect his privacy. Is there something wrong with that?
Samuel: no of course not, I just was curious.
Atlas: Personally, I think you’re a little too curious.
Samuel: I’m a detective, it’s my job sir-
Atlas: Yeah, yeah, I get it. Just get on with the interview.
Samuel: why are you so defensive under such a small thing? I feel you’re taking this interview too personally atlas.
Atlas: I’m not taking it personally, it’s just not something I want to talk about.
Samuel: Atlas you must understand that we have to interview you to know what happened, you were the only person who had last seen your husband.
Atlas: I know. And I’m telling you right now I don’t know what happened after that night. Every other person in this city can keep to themselves, why can’t you?
Samuel: Because this is my job-
Atlas: I know damn well it’s not. You’re not a professional. If you were you would know to stay away from my personal business.
Samuel: atlas, I’m just trying to help you. We were friends-
[a loud thud is heard]
Atlas: I don’t care what we were, I care about you sticking your nose into places it doesn’t belong.
Samuel: I’m just trying to help you! Don’t you care about your husband?
Atlas: of course I do, but I don’t want to answer a million questions when I already know what’s happened.
Samuel: if you know, then why won’t you fucking tell me?
[the recording goes silent for approximately 2 minutes]
Samuel: Atlas.
[Silence continues for another minute]
Samuel: Atlas. Tell me what happened. I’m your friend.
Atlas: I don’t have to say shit.
Samuel: What did you do?
Atlas: I didn’t do anything!
Samuel: You’re lying and I know you’re fucking lying-
[a loud thud can be heard in the recording room, a chair is knocked over]
Atlas: You want to know the truth Sam? You wanna get into shit that you have no right being a part of? Fine. I’ll fucking tell you.
Samuel: Atlas you’re scaring me-
Atlas: No! You wanted to know so now you’re gonna fucking know! I killed him alright? Are you happy now mr detective? Happy that you know the truth?
Samuel: I- Why did you- What? Why?
Atlas: because he was snooping around where he shouldn’t have been. Just like you. Quite frankly I’m tired of everyone wanting to know what’s going on in my life.
Samuel: Atlas get away from me-
[shuffling can be heard in the background if the recording, followed by a loud thump]
Atlas: You wanted the truth, and now you have it.
Samuel: Let me go- I can’t breathe
Atlas: -And now you have to take the truth to your grave.
[Sounds of struggle can be heard, followed by a series of thuds. Then silence]
[the silence persists for multiple minutes.]
