Chapter Text
He finally did it. He got what he wished for. You should’ve been happy for him. But you couldn’t shake the bad feeling that had made its way into your stomach. This was his moment though, and you didn’t want to ruin it, so you forced a smile onto your face and waved back at him when he made eye contact with you. Everything inside you was screaming that this was wrong, and you could only hope that that feeling would go away sooner rather than later.

“What now?” You reluctantly followed Seungmin through the hallways. Well, reluctantly was kind of an understatement since he was practically dragging you across the floor.
“You know that Hufflepuff boy in our year? Han Jisung or something?”
You nodded, well aware of the boy that everyone in your year pined over. Even some of the Slytherin girls from your dorm would talk about him from time to time.
“I heard that he tried to put his name in the Goblet of Fire, but the age circle didn’t let him pass.”
“And we’re what? Rushing to give him our sympathy…?” He suddenly stopped in his tracks and whipped around, causing you to bump into his chest.
Seungmin grabbed both of your wrists and looked directly into your eyes. "Sympathy?"
"After 5 years, I can't believe that you still don't know me." You rolled your eyes as he let go of your wrists. "We are going there to laugh at him and make sure the little brat sees me put my name into the Goblet. Come on."
"Wait what?" You crossed your arms over your chest. "Please don't tell me that you're putting your name in for such a dangerous competition just to get back at Jisung!"
Seungmin sighed. "That boy is way too arrogant for his own good, plus he's not even that good looking. It'll be nice to humble him for once."
He noticed the disappointed look on your face. "Obviously that's not the only reason, I'm not that shallow. I'd really like to be the champion of Hogwarts, I mean can you imagine a Slytherin being the pride of Hogwarts for once. The whole school would be supporting me and me only. I want to be the one to show them that Slytherins aren't just cunning, evil people."
You looked at him for a while, and after taking into account his posture and the determined look in his eyes, you could tell that he was, in fact, being genuine.
"Then, of course you know you have my full support." You wanted to hide the concern you felt and the way that Seungmin beamed at you after you said it made it easier for you to do so. "But I'm only supporting you entering the tournament, not humiliating Jisung."
He shook his head aggressively, messing up his fluffy brown curls. "No, no. Not humiliating. Humbling. There's a difference."
"Sure there is." You laughed as he grabbed your wrist once again and dragged you in the direction of the Hall.
As you entered the hall, you noticed two people with Gryffindor robes fighting each other on the floor. You also caught sight of Jisung sitting with a red-haired boy in the far corner, looking extremely disappointed. This brought a smirk to Seungmin's face, he turned to face you with his name slip in his hand.
"Make sure he sees me put my name in." He was practically jittery with excitement. "Humbling, remember?"
"Of course, of course." You waited as Seungmin walked towards the Goblet of Fire and just as he crossed the age line, you called out to the red-haired Ravenclaw sitting next to Jisung. "Hey Yeonjun!"
Both boys looked in your direction, along with most of the others in the Hall.
In hindsight, that was not your best idea.
Yeonjun smiled at you and waved but Jisung's gaze drifted towards the Goblet of Fire just as Seungmin put his name in the flame. He grunts in annoyance and immediately stands up before storming out of the Hall.
Seungmin looks at you with a glint in his eye while walking, sorry skipping, back towards you as Yeonjun also makes his way in both of your direction.
"I'm sorry about... well him." Yeonjun smiled and nodded at both of you in turn before leaving, probably in search of Jisung.
Seungmin giggled. "You're just a 10 year old trapped in a 17 year old's body aren't you?" You ruffled his hair.
"Stooopp." He sounded annoyed but the fact that he couldn't stop smiling made you smile too.
"That was fun to be honest. But on another note, I really do hope I get selected to represent Hogwarts."
"As if a Slytherin would ever be the 'Pride of Hogwarts'."
"I know right. If he somehow gets selected, I'm supporting the champion from Beauxbatons."
The hushed whispers and giggling from behind you caused a frown to overtake your features. The confusion on Seungmin's face told you that he didn't hear anything but what they said had filled you with annoyance.
"You wanna say something??" You whipped around, glaring at the two girls who were sitting a little ways away from you.
They both just stared at you in silence and Seungmin took a step closer to you, obviously still confused.
"Thought so. It's easy to talk behind someone's back isn't it? If you're too cowardly to say something to someone's face, you shouldn't be saying anything at all. Absolute pricks."
Spinning on your heel, you grabbed Seungmin's hand and marched out of the Great Hall.
"Wait. Could you stop?" You didn't realise that you were literally yanking Seungmin through the school's hallways and you also didn't realise that you were now standing outside, the only indicator being the cold October breeze. You stopped walking and let go of his hand so you could wrap both your arms around you. "What happened back there?"
"Stupid Gryffindors with their stupid over-inflated egos and stupid superiority complexes." You shivered slightly and realised that you had forgotten your robe in your dorm.
"And who's stupid for forgetting to wear their robe in this weather?" Seungmin took off his own robe and placed it around your shoulders.
"I'm sick of them. Just generalising Slytherin because a few ‘bad’ people came from our house. I really do hope you get selected, eternal glory for a Slytherin student would apparently be the end of the world, especially for the students of this school.” You pulled Seungmin’s robe tighter around yourself.
"Oh I see, so you only want me to get selected to piss off the Gryffindors huh?"
"Mhm. To piss off everyone to be honest, but yeah, specifically Gryffindors. I hate them."
"There are plenty of people from the other houses who are pisstakes too. Remember what that Hufflepuff did to you? Choi - " You cleared your throat, preventing Seungmin from continuing, and he got the hint.
"You're right. I change my mind then, I hate everyone." Seungmin looked at you suggestively. "You don't count, you're barely even human."
"Haha. Very funny."
Smiling at him mischievously, you pulled the hood of Seungmin's robe up. "I'm keeping this by the way, you should get a new robe."
Seungmin shook his head. "Uh. No. Not again. You already took my last one when you lost yours. I'm not talking to Snape again for a new one. That man hasn't liked me since Third Year." Ducking to avoid his outstretched hand, you started to run back towards the Slytherin dormitories, with Seungmin right behind you.
