“Normal Speaking”
“All Might”
“Yharmit “
*POV Tenya*
I glanced around the assembly hall as everyone listened to Present Mic speaking about what was to happen, though my eyes stopped at a boy with messy black hair that didn’t seem to be paying attention. If the way his dull green eyes were drooped over in a seeming half-asleep state was any giveaway. Present Mic began speaking on the 3 different robots that would be present. I glanced at the pamphlet, only to see that he had forgotten to mention the 4th robot! How preposterous! I immediately stood up and began proclaiming my troubles! After all, UA is the most prestigious hero school.
“SIR! Please excuse my interruption, however, you stated that there are 3 robots when on the pamphlet there are 4! If this is an accident then this is terrible and goes against the prestigious reputation that UA has! And you! The one with the black hair that looks like they're about to fall asleep! If you’re not here to take this seriously then just leave!” As soon as the words, ones meant to correct someone’s behavior, left my mouth, a pressure appeared on my shoulders. Like a hunter stalking its prey. There’s no intent behind it, just a solid pressure, constant, unmoving. His dull green eyes seemingly spark to life as he passes a glance my way before the spark dies out again and the pressure stops. He seems more aware now, but why do I feel as though I dodged a bullet?
*POV Izuku*
My arm hurts, I twitch the fingers of my left hand, hearing the soft clicking, maybe this’ll be fun? I prepare myself to run into the city, the messengers by my feet offering me various weapons as I reach down and grab the two I’m most familiar with. The beast hunter saif appears from the mist as I reach down with my right hand, grabbing it from the messenger while thanking them kindly, while my left takes hold of an ornate pistol, Evelyn, it settles comfortably in my grip as my eyes lay down on the open road.
“Thank you, little ones, you may return now,” I mumble softly.
I see them gleam up at me in adoration as they disappear into the mist, back into the ‘Dream’. I sit there, staring blankly at the entryway, my mind clouded with plans before I’m burst from my thoughts by the door opening and the loud “GO!” that resounds as I charge forward in a cloud of mist before I hit the ground with pounding feet. Sending me farther and farther away from the entrance with each step as I get faster and faster, before settling down at a speed most would have trouble sprinting at, to me it's just another Hunt.
I feel naked, as I run into a horde of robots, not caring or counting the points as I dash and teleport around them, cutting them down with the saif or shooting a hole through their circuits with Evelyn. The gym clothes I picked up yesterday feel too loose. I shoot around the city, picking up those who have fallen.
‘They’re not Hunters’ I have to remind myself each time, ‘They are training to be Heros’ I continue my mantra in my head each time I help another person up or thin the herd for those who took more than they could handle. My body is tensed and ready for any form of violent reaction from them. ‘They won’t kill you,’ I know, I remind myself, just keep moving. My thoughts are disturbed once again, this time by a deep rumbling as a giant robot appears, where the hell do they get the money?
I begin to run to safety, helping up those who have fallen or were knocked down by others who are rushing, I make it about halfway before I hear a startled cry. “Ahh! Please help me!” I look back and see a brown-haired girl trapped under the rubble of a fallen building. I begin running towards her as my body dissipates into the mist before reappearing right beside her.
“Hold still, permission to use my quirk on you?” I see her nod in agreement as I grab her arm before dissipating once again as we appear by the other students. “Does anything hurt?” she nods and points to her ankle where I see a huge bruise already forming, sprained, at best. I look back at the robot to see it hasn’t stopped yet and is still destroying everything. I look back at the students before spotting the blue-black-haired guy who yelled at me in the assembly hall.
“Watch over her, she has a sprained ankle.”
“Where are you going then?”
“To take care of that.” I point towards the robot that still hasn’t stopped.
*POV Aizawa*
Watching the cameras I can’t help but be impressed at some of the kids for this year's batch. My eyes catch movement on one of the screens as I watch one of the participants, a kid with black hair and green eyes, run around the city. He wields a strange weapon in his right hand and in his left hand he holds a pistol that he uses in tandem with the other weapon to dodge, weave, even parry the robots as they get destroyed. That’s strange.
“Pull up applicant No. 257’s file”
A file appears in front of me, my confusion only becoming more and more as well as my concern.
*****
Name: Izuku Midoriya
Age: 15
Sex: Male
Quirk: Dream
Medical Report:
4 years old, diagnosed quirkless. No further notes
14 years old, attempted suicide. He jumped from a 15 story building, he awoke a week later, the only remaining damage is his left arm and right eye, they were destroyed beyond repair. The arm had to be amputated below the elbow and the eye had to be removed. No further notes.
14 years old, quirk awoke. The stress from the suicide attempt must have awoken the patient’s latent quirk factor, the only problem is we have no idea what type of quirk it is. Patient calls it the ‘Dream’, they refuse acknowledgment of those who ask what it does. Something else happened, when he awoke, the stump that used to be his arm was replaced by a strange prosthetic. We were unable to get a good look at it but it seems to function like a real hand. His destroyed eye was also replaced and seems to function nearly perfectly. No further notes.
14 years old, tests. The patient's blood is several shades lighter than it should be. Attempts to analyze have failed as the blood seemingly evaporates long before testing can be completed. No adverse effects on the Patient’s health have been noted and it circulates like regular blood. We were also able to get a look at his prosthetic, how it works is beyond us though. It’s made of bone and porcelain yet functions as a normal arm. Any attempts at testing it was met with resistance from the patient. No further notes.
*****
‘His left arm, is a prosthetic? Not to mention the damage to his eye…’ I continue watching him, using the gun in the prosthetic hand naturally and smoothly, the only telltale sign something is wrong with the hand being the bandages wrapped around it, and the way it hangs limply when not in use. The way the fingers twitch and move makes it seem so real, but the file states it's made out of porcelain. His eye though, it seems normal swiveling around naturally, looking for robots to destroy or people to help.
“Somebody catch your eye Eraser?” Nezu, the principal of UA, and my boss, asks me. I look at the point board, Midoriya is clear in the lead.
“Yeah, I want Midoriya Izuku in my class.”
“Alright, time to release the big guns then!” he slams his paw on the red button, all while laughing maniacally.
*POV Izuku*
I let Evelyn fall from my hand, into the mist gathered below me as my feet beat against the ground, the seemingly heavy footfalls falling away towards quiet steps that made more sense in someone sneaking around, not a young boy running towards a giant robot. A smaller robot appeared around the corner and swung a fist towards me as I slid under it, my hand reaching once more into the mist.
On my left arm is a cannon, fully loaded. I smash the cannon through the head of the robot, barely losing any momentum as I continue rushing forwards. “Rupture” the word leaves my mouth as my body instant reacts, A feeling of power explodes as my blood begins to rush, I jump up, coming parallel with the robots head as a crater is left in the place I once was as I level the cannon on my left arm at it, “Fear the Old Blood!” the sound of the cannon going off can be heard thundering throughout the entire city as the cannon shot crumples the metal of its head like paper.
It teeters, its red eyes flashing, before it ultimately falls, as all things do. I let myself fall into a cloud of mist as I reappear back on the ground, both my weapons gone. I look back at the other test takers who look at me in awe, my eyes searching before landing on the brown-haired girl. Seeing she’s ok I begin my departure to hopefully gather more points.
“TIME IS UP FOLKS!”
Never mind, guess I’m going home.
