Work Text:
Phoenix pointed at the prosecution's witness. "That means you couldn't have gotten the cuts from falling on the tar, so how did you really get them?"
The witness recoiled. "Um, well, I did it on accident when I was cutting some meat the day before, and the knife grazed my skin."
The green magatama around his wrist started to glow. Then the psyche locks appeared, so the witness was still lying about where the marks came from?
There was another way they could have gotten them; they did it themselves.
He felt his heart crack a bit. "Witness, did you do hurt yourself in any way, on purpose, to get those scars?" The locks broke. "It's nothing to ashamed of. I have that same problem myself, and I'd be more than willing to talk about it with you after the trial."
They gave him a light smile. Finally, someone understood them.
