if the story's over, why am i still writing pages?

Summary:

this is basically my oneshot collection over the years. recently found questionable drafts in my notes and thought i publish it along with other works i did that is currently in wattpad (aint going back there anymore no sir).

but yes, jenlisa oneshots varying in different lengths and genres, mostly fluff and/or angst bc im a gay depressed bitch in need of constant love and attention. all the love, hope you like sharing my abandonment issues <3

Notes:

This is Jennie's POV by the way. Think of it like a dream journal of some sorts and it is short because i'm too lazy to edit it as it was written exactly two years ago and i like it how it is ahe.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: i confess, baby. in my dreams, you're touching my face

Chapter Text

You and I met after a long time, being in a long distance relationship sucks but we finally got together again. I was taking you to the place where you told me you wanted to visit. The bookstore in the city near my place. But we never made it there.

I woke up, rubbed the sleep off my eyes and reminded myself—you’re not mine anymore.

I saw a glimpse of your hair, it was shorter than the last time I saw you. I remember when you asked me if I preferred your hair longer or shorter, I answered the latter but now I’m having second thoughts.

You wore a simple red shirt and a pair of jeans and sneakers. I tried to hide behind a pop-up store to tease you because I know you found me already. I still remember your smile. The feeling of you hugging me.

Then we held hands and went to eat. Usually we’d sit in front of each other but I missed you so much that I wanted to sit beside you. We held hands and cuddled while waiting for our orders not minding the stares people were giving us.

As we ate you fed me some of your food but you decline when I feed you mine. I never get why you do that but I appreciate you taking care of me.

After eating I promised you we’d go to the places we said we’d go. First was the local bookstore that has a wide array of books.
The sun was high but it wasn’t that hot so we opted to walk to the venue.

We kept talking as we walked, not minding places that we pass through, just lost in the moment.

Until I noticed the familiar building of my favorite bookstore. You looked so happy in the dream, eyes glimmered in excitement, ready to make new memories with me again.

We started to run hand in hand. Ran as fast as we could but then your hand slipped from mine. You ran towards the building smiling by the door. You turned your head back and urged me to hurry.

I smiled and ran faster—only I didn’t went any further. I was as if I was trapped in an invisible treadmill while you coaxed me to hurry. I ran and ran until my legs were tired but still no progress.

You were only a few feet away. But I couldn’t get to you and the more I ran, the more I got distant from you until you turned as small as an ant. I kept running though, sweating despite the cold weather, desperate to reach you. Heart pounding and breathless.

I kept my eyes trained on you so you’ll know that I’m trying hard but alas, you got tired of waiting and went in without me.
