Chapter Text
Prologue: The Memories Start here
Wingdings Gaster was the best scientist in the world. He had created many important machines in the underground, like the core and the determination extractor. He worked with his followers and his son, . He was a skeleton and all skeletons could communicate in a font called WingDings.
All Skeletons had their own fonts to speak in and were named after them. W.D Gaster however was brought up as an orphan and never got his own font so he always spoke in WingDings which is why he was named after it, the Gaster part was his Surname so he was often called by that to avoid confusion. When he would talk with other monsters one of his two sons, Comic Sans and Papyrus would translate for him, they were the only two other skeletons left after the great war between humans and monsters.
However if the underground knew the real reason Gaster had created the Determination extractor they would’ve wished he didn’t make it.
“so, you gonna do this ?” Said Sans to his Dad
“Sans my research has shown that there is a creature out there that has full control over us. If I don’t do this monsters, no, everyone would be in danger. I am the only one who should have control over the timeline.” Gaster explained. He takes an elevator to the true lab as Sans quickly followed him, he felt the doors of the elevator snap on his lab coat, he quickly pulled the coat out of the doors in a hurry.
“ even with your research we don’t know if raw determination can exist properly in a non-human body, it hasn’t been done before” Sans said this with regret lingering in his voice.
Gaster ignored him and walked quickly as Sans struggled to catch up with him. The Large determination extractor glimmered in the dark true lab. WingDings was hoping to inject determination into his body so he could be the one with control over the timeline and not a human.
One of the five souls from humans that had already fallen down had DT being extracted from it. It was a bright, eye blinding cyan colour. Wingdings climbed into the hole at the bottom of the determination extractor, there were needles poking into both him and the cyan soul.
“Sans, I am in position so you need to flip the on/off switch to start the extractor so I can finally have full control over this timeline. Even if it doesn’t work, I will be extremely powerful. Now you just have to flick the switch.”
Sans took his hand out of his lab coat pocket, and it lingered over the power switch for the determination extractor, he hesitated but placed his finger onto the switch with regret.
The needles in Gaster filled up with red liquid which was pumped into him. His face melted, dripping onto the floor.
“PUT THE POWER UP TO MAX” Gaster shouted at the top of his voice.
“GASTER YOU'RE NOT THINKING RIGHT, THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA” Gaster used blue magic to push Sans’ hand on to the max power switch. Litres of raw determination were injected straight into Gaster's arms. A part of the DT extractor broke of, and the shiny red liquid were spat at Sans’ hand. It felt burning and smoke rose from his hand. This amount of determination wasn’t nearly enough to manipulate the timeline, but he would be able to remember every single reset.
Gasters' determination levels were becoming fatal. Sans quickly turned off the machine. The scientists sad, melted body fell out of the machine and Sans ran up to him.
“gaster? are you okay?” Sans yelled with worry. Gaster's face had two cracks going from his eyes to the end of his face. His body became a melted coal-black blob.
“we have to take you to a medical room quickly” Sans said. He dragged Gaster by his broken hands to an elevator. The elevator went down but started to lose power. WARNING ELEVATOR LOSING POWER came a loud alarm from the elevator
“SANS TAKE COVER” Gaster yelled from his now fragile body. The elevator was crashing so Sans teleported out of it, he thought Gaster would do the same, but the effects of determination made his powers hard to use. Sans escaped but Gaster fell into the void, being erased from history and people’s memories for all of eternity.
Chapter 1: Just another genocide route
So many Genocide routes had passed and only Sans, Flowey and the human could remember them as they all had determination in them. Sans had lost count of how many genocide routes had passed and how many times he found a red scarf in the snow without Papyrus in it. He really didn't want to fight but he had to try. He walked up to the human with tears in his eyes and simply said
“let’s just get to the point” He dodged Chara’s attack and launched gaster blasters and bones at them. He lifted his hand up and launched the human at an array of bones. They pealed themselves from the attacks with blood dripping from their back. They ate a pie, and the blood went away as their back started to heal up. They ran up to Sans, knife in hand but got blasted with blue attacks.
The human died but time went back to when the human walked into the judgment hall, the were at they’re save point. They came back trying to stab Sans
“back for more eh kid, heh you really are the true monster here”
Gaster blasters shot their lasers at the human their face being blasted smoke started to rise from the heat. Blue attacks went up and the humans body went completely still.
“not so stupid after all are you kid?”
Sans pulled the human to the end of the judgment hall and teleported there before smashing them to the ground. He laughed, he wasn’t even going to try and offer mercy this time or hold back as he already knew it would be no use. He started to warp time, creating attacks before teleporting the human to a different one. The human died almost on every attack but would always spawn back.
However, they just had to hit Sans once and it was over. AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID.
A giant wound spread across his chest; the pain was unbearable. Sans ran to a pillar of many in the hall they were in, he started to cry knowing he had failed again. A large part of his skull cracked off and blew in the breeze before turning into dust. However, Sans had an idea. He teleported away to the true lab ready to do this.
He saw a strange but in a weird way, familiar figure that was speaking with his hands.
“DON'T DO THIS SANS OR YOU WILL END UP LIKE ME” the figure screeched.
“how do you know my name?” Sans asked.
“I HAVE NO TIME TO EXPLAIN BUT-“
“no i have to do this, there is no other way to stop the resets”
Sans pushed passed the figure and headed to the determination extractor. He got in position before smashing the on/off button with a bone, activating the machine. This was extremely painful but while it was happening Sans had a vision.
