Summary
The box wasn’t that big, yet Venti looked smaller inside it than Xiao could have believed. He was curled up with eyes red and swollen, tears still mingling with raindrops down his face. The small, frail, beautiful man made of sunshine and flowers was covered in bruises, even blood. In his arms, he clutched a rabbit for dear-life, as if the rabbit were shivering instead of him.Xiao suddenly caught his breath, realizing that he was holding it while staring at Venti in shock, his right fist slowly grinding against the concrete, scraping the skin off his knuckles. Yet, Venti wasn’t aware of any of this, he was so scared that he was closing his eyes and grimacing, retreating as far as he could inside the box, trying to hide from whatever might hurt him. Whoever did hurt him.
“Venti? ”
The boy’s name escaped him, hesitant and tender, trying to ease his fears however he could. To stop his trembling and protect him.
Xiao and Venti have their own scars, whether visible or not, can they entrusts their pasts and pain to each other and help each other heal? Or will they hide their scars away, refusing to be seen?
