Chapter Text

POV: SARAH

"Ethan!" I screamed at the top of my lungs hoping he would hear me though the large wooden doors, he didn't. My heart dropped thinking about what could have possibly happened to him, is it my fault that I didn't save him? All of these thoughts racing through my head the only thing that I thought to do was race through the doors and help Ethan at all costs, "Ethan!" I cried out again hoping he would hear me. He turned around to face me, almost losing his iron-tight grip on the Lucifractor, "Sarah, you shouldn't be here." he exclaimed with a worried look on his face. I knew this item had the power to control vampires but I didn't move, I was too worried about Ethan to care that this item could wipe me and my race out. "Is your little vamp girlfriend here to save you again?" the vice principal exclaimed, Ethan, looked back at me keeping his grip on the orb. "No she isn't my girlfriend" he replied with an unsure voice. I felt my heart slowly drop, I knew that he had feelings for me but he doesn't really know that I like him back since our awkward date. I was kind of stunned just standing there watching him holding onto the glowing purple orb. Before I knew it everything turned back and I felt my back slammed into a bumpy soft wall. I heard Ethan groan, what could have possibly happened…

POV: ETHAN

I looked around at all the debris, the air was filled with dust, and the room was dark except for the ray of moonlight that made it through the broken windows. My vision was really blurry and my body parts hurt, I can't even tell how long I was out for I start looking around and saw Sarah who was sitting in a disabled and "dead" type of positioning, maybe she was yet to wake up? Could she actually be dead? I can't even control my thoughts, let alone get up. I do my best to crawl over to her, I feel her skin, it is cold and starting to lose its beige colouring, she looks very weak, I shake her to attempt to wake her up. "Ethan… Did we win?" she jokingly replies and adds "I feel weak… We have to get to Benny's grandma's for some of her blood substitute." I didn't think that she was going to be able to make it that far, even if Whitechapel is a small town we are still pretty much on the whole other side. I don't want to alarm her at all because then she might start freaking out, and I want to keep her as calm as possible. "We can totally do that, here let's help you up," I say while reaching my hand out to meet hers, we start to walk out the large double doors, however, Sarah is limping. 'Are you okay?" I state in a worrying voice, "Yeah yeah, I'm perfectly fine." she replies while waving me off, we continue to walk. It's really calming out, the moon is shining brightly, and you can hear the crickets chirping while a small brisk of wind goes by.

POV: SARAH

I hate this, the blast from the Lucifactor must have knocked me out for a while, I'm glad that Ethan was with me though, however, I have to stay strong I don't want to worry Ethan that I'm in pain, but I'm really hungry and I need something to eat… or well drink I should say. I can feel my body weakening by the second, I can barely stand. Ethan has his arm around my shoulder and that's about the only thing keeping me upright. We walk up to an intersection, I feel myself getting dizzy and I know that we won't be able to make it to Benny's grandma's house. I have to have hope and push through this though, I don't want to look weak to Ethan.

POV: ETHAN

I had my arm around Sarah's shoulders, I knew that she was weak. She didn't hide it very well, we had already been walking for a while since she was way too weak to use her vamp speed. I turn to look at her and see how she is doing "Sar-" I abruptly cut myself off seeing she has passed out in my arms. I decide to pick her up, I can feel the worry overtake my control as I start moving at a faster pace to Benny's.

POV: BENNY

I hear a loud constant knocking on the door, I open it to see Ethan carrying Sarah's pale and unresponsive body. Makes me glad that I ran, and didn't suffer any after-effects from the Lucifractor, however, Sarah clearly has a connection with Ethan since their date not long ago so I'm not surprised that Ethan mustered up all his strength to carry Sarah all this way. "Grandma!" I call in a loud and hurrying voice. Grandma Evelyn rushes into the room "Oh dear…" She says in a calm demeanour. Get her downstairs onto the table, I need to see what is going on. Ethan and I walk downstairs and place her on the table. "Well?" Evelyn says me and Ethan look at her in confusion "Shoo!" she exclaimed with hand motion

I turned to Ethan who was struggling to leave and placed my hand on his back to help push him back up the stairs, I could tell his eyes started to tear up, "Bro you're tearing up." I whispered in his ear, he slowly moved his hand and wiped off the tears from his eyes, as we continued to walk up the stairs, we were reaching the top when we heard a loud slam and we saw Erica emerge from the. "Hey." I said in a flirty way "Move." she said in a strict voice pushing us to the side and running down the stairs. Me and Ethan look at each other and continue on.

POV: ETHAN

It had already been forever, and Grandma Evelyn hadn't been upstairs in a while, or at all since we put Sarah down stairs to be honest, was it really that bad? Benny was who knows where swooning over Erica like normal, he hasn't changed at all. I should probably get up and do something but I have been too busy sitting down with my hands against my head rocking back and forth trying to see what I could have done better to try and save her. Should I have let her bite me? Would that have saved her? I don't know all I do know is that I think that I made the wrong choice to carry her all the way over here. I decided that it would be a good idea to go downstairs and check on how it was going, my vision was a little blurry seeing as my eyes had been tearing up thinking that this was all my fault and I should have done something different. I arrive at the bottom step and see Sarah lying on the stone table surrounded by bookcases, I look to my right and see Evelyn ruffling through books. 'Er, how is everything?" I tried to say in a strong voice but instead came off shy.

'You really shouldn't be down here." she said in a normal voice like she wasn't worried at all. I looked down, at my feet like I was thinking but I really wasn't. I was trying to hide my teared eyes from Evelyn. She was still rapidly searching for something but I didn't really know what it was, I would ask but Evelyn wasn't really the one to talk about stuff like that and she doesn't want to worry me so I completely understand. So I slowly went over to Sarah and looked down at her body which doesn't look weak and pale anymore but she wasn't awake. I stood there, "I'm so sorry" I mumbled. "What hon?" Evelyn looked over, I think she realised that I was standing over Sarah and looking down at her so she just ignored it. "Why- isn't she waking up?" I say with tears dripping down my face. Evelyn turns to me, then goes right back to looking through her shelfs. I grab Sarah's hand. It's cold, I'm so confused, she got the blood substitute, normally that just works…

It's now midnight Erica had gone home, Benny and his grandmother were fast asleep. I was still in the basement just sitting there, phasing in and out of sleep waiting to see if Sarah would magically wake up, no surprise that didn't a while I passed out, the whole day was tiring considering I had no sleep last night.

"Ethannn.." a forcefully pitched voice exclaimed, I slowly opened my eyes and saw Sarah standing on the stairs, I smiled as she was waving at me to follow her up the stairs, was it actually real? My vision was still blurry from the bright light on the roof, I rubbed my eyes and my vision slowly cleared to reveal it was Sarah, in shock I looked to my right and saw the table that once had her on it no longer had her on it. "Yeah ok, I'm alive" she said with a laugh

I sigh with relief as I walk up the stairs in front of Sarah, and am greeted by Ethan, Erica and Rory of course trying to show-off like normal, they all had worried looks on their face though. "What's wrong?" I say with a confused look on my face. "So-" Benny says with a pause, "Stern is back." Benny says with an alarmed look.

Chapter Text

POV: ETHAN

I walk into my living room where Benny and Sarah are sitting on the couch, I lean up against the wall "So Stern is really back?" I say with a calm voice, "Yeah, he was at the school this morning, since the flash is finally done with investigation." Benny replies. Loud stomps come down the stairs "Who's Stern?" Jane says to her if you don't tell me, I'm going to blackmail you. "He is our school principal" Sarah says to Jane in a high pitched voice and she runs back upstairs.

Benny stands up "I should go home, talk to Grandma, see if she has a spell I can remove him with", I nod and watch him leave. Sarah stands up and opens the door, "I'm going to the store on the corner" as she continues walking, closing the door behind her. I sit down and watch TV, something that I haven't done in a while.

POV: SARAH

I walked through the isles lined with food, I wanted a drink so I walked to the back where all the fridges are and looked at my choices. As I was shuffling over I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, I pulled my phone out to see that Benny was calling me. I answer "What Benny?" I say, "I just saw Stern and Jesse enter Ethan's house" He says with the phone distortion. "What!" I scream in the middle of the store with a bunch of eyes looking at me. I put the drink I grabbed back into the cooler and started running back to Ethan's house that was a few blocks away. I was so worried I didn't even know if I was going vamp speed or just running but before I knew it I was outside Ethan's house the door was open, I guess he never locked it after me and Benny left his house. I walk inside, he is laying on the floor. Benny is trying to get his pulse. I sigh and kneel down to Ethan's neck, "and of course they did" I thought, there were two small tooth marks on Ethan's neck. Now here comes the hard part: will Ethan still be a Seer or is he just a vampire now?

I picked him up and laid him down on the couch and figured that he'd need something for when he wakes up and walked next door to Benny's house to get some of his grandmother's blood substitute. I grabbed some from the fridge and walked back over to the house where I had babysat so many times, I put it in Ethan's fridge, it looks like a juice box so they wont suspect anything, I sat down on an armchair watching him in awe hoping that he will wake up soon, I realised this was all my fault the second I knocked on their door was the second I got them wrapped up in all this stuff.

It had already been awhile and Ethan was still not awake, and his parents we're going to be home in the next hour or so it seemed, they had taken Jane with them tonight. "Come on Ethan pull out of this" I mumbled, and kissed his forehead, "Woah!" Benny exclaimed walking inside of the Morgan home. "I- Did-" he said multiple times. I slapped the back of his head and walked off into the kitchen with sass. Ethan kept looking back and forth at Ethan's body and the direction I walked off in.

POV: BENNY

I was astonished, I don't even know what I walked in on, I ran over to Ethan and I shook him "Bro- did you-?" I said with extreme excitement. "He's not going to wake." Sarah says leaning against the wall. I look over to Sarah with a worried face. "What do you mean he wont wake up?"I said looking at Sarah as my eyes were tearing up "It's just a vampire thing, sometimes you don't wake up" I stood as Sarah replied, while I was drooping my head and walking toward the Morgan home door.

POV: SARAH

After Benny left the house my "tough-girl" act broke and I was once again overcome with sadness realising that they might have killed him. I sat on the reclining chair with it not reclined and I was just rocking there staring at Ethan just completely stunned. I was slowly closing my eyes and drifting to sleep when I heard a cough and saw Ethan sitting up looking very pale. I went and grabbed the Blood Substitute from the fridge and handed it to Ethan. "It doesn't taste the best, but it's food" I gave a small smirk while saying, "Heh!" he chuckled and took a sip. "So Benny left me some texts" he said in a soft and considerate tone, I tried to speak but no words came out as I scratched the back of my head. "Something along the lines of you kissing me?" Ethan added. I got up and shyly ran up to his room and locked myself inside. "What are you doing, you're strong, why are you acting like this you have no reason to be" I thought to myself while angrily walking around Ethan's room. I leave my room and check on Jane, as the Morgan parents are out and about on their Friday date night. Ethan runs up to his room and I hear the door lock, moments after I hear stuff being thrown around, and a bunch of smashing. "Hold on." I say to Jane as she replies with an eyeroll. I walk to his door and make sure that Jane is out of earshot, I knock on his door and I hear the clashing and throwing stop.

He cracks open the door, and after seeing me he opens his door, as I walk in I instantly notice his bed was flipped, all of his collectables that he had on his shelf were scattered on shattered all over the floor. I look at him as my eyes tear up, what had I done, It was my fault all I had to do was never take this job. Every time something happens it always comes back to that. My legs start to go weak and Ethan grabs me as I fall to the floor following him shortly after.

POV: ETHAN

As we fall to the ground Sarah digs her head into my shoulder and starts to cry. "It's not your fault" I say with a cheery voice. "It's is, if I would have just never taken this job none of this would have happened and you could just live your life like you are supposed to!" She screams while crying.

I put my hands on both sides of her head and pulled her off my shoulder, her eyes sparkling from the tears in her eyes. She continued to just repeat reasons why it was her fault and at this point I couldn't even understand, without thinking I pushed my lips against hers, in shock I pulled back and apologised rapidly "Sorry" I said over and over. "Oh, Ethan!" a voice similar to Jesse's said. I don't think Sarah heard it so I just ignored it, either that or she was way too busy giggling. Sarah stood up and walked down the stairs still giggling. "Jesse!" I hear Sarah scream and I run down the stairs to see her and Jesse getting ready to have some kind of fight, "Jesse!" I said while walking down the stairs I walked up and down a thousand times. "Ah, If it isn't 1/3rd of the geek squad", a name that Sarah had accepted for hanging out with us so much. Jesse was stronger than us but I'm not sure that he can handle both me and Sarah in vampire form. Me and Sarah focused into Jesse and heard a loud slam, Benny was confidently walking through the door with his spell book in one hand and pointing the other at Jesse. After Benny mumbled some words a purple mist shot out of Benny's hand at Jesse sending him flying into the wall. Me and Sarah vamp speed to trap him in the corner, "Leave." We hissed with a strict voice. Benny runs at Jesse with a wooden stake and stabs it through his heart, no blood or splatter even comes out, he just starts to disintegrate with a flash in front of our eyes. Benny dusted his hands off "Well, if I had to count how many times I had to do that, I'd need more hands."

Benny walks up to me and pats me on the shoulder, "Good Jo-" He starts looking intensely at my face. "Lip-gloss" he says with suspicion and looks at me and Sarah rapidly back and forth. "You-" he stutters while pointing at us. "Looks like we've been caught" she said while giving me a peck on the cheek. Stern walks through the still open door, 'Wow, Jesse really is powerless…"
