Felix didn’t know how he ended up in that situation. And he didn’t want to know even if it would explain their situation.
He, his brother and the rampaging creature of that psychotic supervillain outside.
Worse, his brother managed to tuck his leg somehow when they were running from the studio. Though, if it wasn’t his brother, Felix would probably leave him behind.
“Running towards a thin tree, wow, what a great place to hide!” Felix couldn’t hide the sarcasm in his tone, helping his brother walk to the closest building. Luckily, the door of the bakery was open, so they both went inside without the problem.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking, ” his brother answered, somehow managing to sound guilty. But Felix knew all his tricks, so that sweet, sad and full of regretting voice couldn’t fool him.
“No, bad little liar brother of mine, you were, ” Felix couldn’t suppress the urge to flick his brother on the nose, which left them both staring at each other in shock.
“Uh… Felix?” His brother, it seemed, looked like he saw the wish of the fallen star come true.
“No. Word. To Father. Understood?” Felix tried to put as much intimidation in his voice as he could.
“Hm… How about you forget the Cake Dropkick Incident on Father's birthday then?” And that little menace looked so smug even if his face also showed pain from the tucked leg.
“You… I always knew you were a troublemaker, little liar,“ Felix groaned, before shaking his head exasperatedly and reaching out. “Okay, deal.”
“Great!” His brother shook Felix’s hand, but in the next second he winced from the pain.
“Oh Lord, what did I do to you to receive such a punishment?” Felix couldn’t help but throw up arms in the air. “Okay, we need to bandage and fix your leg, my little annoying brother.”
“You know, I have a name. Adrien, remember?” His brother asked with a little smile, looking around. “Hey, I know this place!”
“You do?” Felix asked, looking surprised.
“Yes, it was the home of my classmate… ex-classmate,” at the mention of that classmate, Ad… his brother suddenly frowned and looked sad.
“Ex-classmate?” There was only one person who could call for Ad… his brother’s negative emotions. “Is it that girl who went missing?”
“Yes,” his brother’s voice meant that he wasn’t going to discuss that theme right now.
“I’m… I’m sorry that I brought up that theme…”
“Who are you and where did you hide the real Felix?” Adr… Adrien asked him with a nervous chuckle.
“Don’t get excited about that that much,” Felix grumbled, standing up. “I’m doing it only because you’re my little brother and you’re my family. And don’t you dare to fake a tear drop right now.”
“But I so, so wanted to do it!” Adrien depicted the faint but hissed when in the action he moved his leg.
“Okay, you said you know that place,” Felix helped Adrien sit more comfortably. “Do you know where they kept their medical aid?”
“I’m not sure,” Adrien looked at the ceiling, trying to remember the times when he was there. “I think it was on the top of the kitchen’s fridge? I don’t remember exactly. It’s either in the kitchen, or in the bathroom.”
“Okay, sit down here and don’t you dare to move,” Felix warned him. “Akuma is still outside and you’re injured.”
“Alright, my older brother,” Adrien smiled weakly, watching as Felix, warily, walked from the front of the bakery towards the back room, which also was a way to the kitchen.
“Psst, Plagg, you can come out now,” Adrien whispered after a few minutes.
“Kid, you need to transform. Bjalla is waiting for help” Kwami flew out of the pocket and looked around. “What a familiar place…”
“I know that Bug needs help, but I can’t leave Felix alone,” Adrien whispered back. “He saw that I was injured and that I can’t move around. I Agree, it will be suspicious if I suddenly disappear.”
“But Bjalla probably struggles!”
“I kn… Quick, hide!” Adrien fastly grabbed Kwami and hid him inside his pocket.
He heard a little stumbling and in the next second Felix rushed in the room with a worried expression on his face.
“Adrien, we have a problem,” he breathed out, looking pale and nervous.
“What kind of trouble?” Adrien didn’t like the sound of it. Really didn’t like it at all.
“This building is inhabited, not abandoned and…”
Who would use that building as their living place? Adrien thought.
“... and I think that it’s inhabited by her .”
Adrien paled immediately.
Okay, they were in trouble. Big, big trouble.
“Why do you think that this place is her lair?” Adrien whispered, glancing around this time nervously.
“I saw butterflies, I saw that there was fresh food in the fridge, which somehow still works. Adrien, we need to get out of here and call for Bjalla and Chat No dire …”
Adrien tensed immediately. There was only one person who called him like that in stressful situations. Though, maybe it was a coincidence?
“And I thought that Bjalla had something to do with the b-rank jello,” Adrien whispered quietly, watching Felix’s reaction to his words.
“How many times should I explain that Bjalla is…” Felix stopped abruptly and narrowed his eyes at Adrien. “May I ask, how do you know that joke?”
“I don’t know,” Adrien shrugged, now smiling with all teeth. “But a little bug told me that…”
“Only you,” Felix groaned, burying his face in hands. “Only you could say something stupid and get away with this. You little idiot, why do you keep pushing yourself in front of me?”
“Shhh, we’re still near her, remember? She might hear us,” Adrien whispered. “If you’re right, we need to transform and- Where is she exactly?”
“Top floor, I didn’t peek there, I was too worried about you,” Felix waved at him. “But you’re right, we need to transform. And then, we should take her down fast. Ready?”
“I was born Jason!” Adrien grinned, before calling for his transformation.
“You stupid idiot…” Felix couldn’t hold back an exasperated sigh, before calling for his own transformation. “So, we need to go from different sides…”
“Why?” That voice made them both flinch violently and jump around to face an opponent. “Why, if I’m already here, my dear Sunshine and his brother?”
“Dear Sunshine?” Chat looked confused which was quickly replaced with anger. “You dare to call me the way she called me?”
“I don’t dare, I do it because I always called you like that, Adrien,” she was smiling. She was smiling and giggling and seemed to not stop doing this.
“Wait, all this time it was you? I- I thought you were dead! I thought that you were gone and…”
“And now we’re here. I’m here, because I want them back. You’re here, because you’re following the will of the person who partially is responsible for their fate. So what do you choose? Live a life full of lies and understatements, or will you follow my path and seek for real life?”
