Chapter Text

I don’t deserve you

“A- Alex…andrite…?”

That familiar voice echoed in Alexandrite’s mind. It couldn’t be her. She was shattered 2000 years ago, at least that’s what she thought.

“No, it’s not possible!”

“Aventurine!?”

Alexandrite turned around sharply, that voice wasn’t just in her head. Aventurine was really there! It turns out she wasn’t shattered.

“I- I can’t believe it! You weren’t shattered!?”

Aventurine shook her head. “I’m alive, aren’t I?” She asked.

“But you- I saw your shards! I swear that was you! Or-…”

Alexandrite trailed off. She then remembered that there were multiple aventurines. A wave of embarrassment washed over her.

“Ugh… dammit I forgot that there were-“

“Multiple of the same gem?” Aventurine interrupted.

“Yeah that was 7FP. She was worthless anyways!”

Alexandrite chuckled. “I guess… But now I know that you’re alive, I figured that we could finally go to Earth together! Just you and me! We can put everything behind us and start o-“

She was interrupted by Aventurine, who sounded very unpleased. “You think that I will go to Earth with you after the horrible things you did? Oh please, you starting fights for so called ‘revenge’ on who ‘shattered me’ was unnecessary! Hell, I wasn’t shattered. You were just so impulsive that you didn’t even think.”

“Aven, I-“

“Don’t you ‘Aven’ me. It’s just Aventurine to you now.”

Alexandrite paused. “But I thought-“

“That was in the past! I’ve made up my mind…

Goodbye… Alex…”

“Aven- Aventurine wait!” Alexandrite desperately clung to Aventurine’s arm.

“W- we promised… you promised!”

Aventurine pulled away from Alexandrite. “I’VE MADE UP MY MIND!” She shouted.

“Now leave me be… or else…”

There was a large pause of silence. Though it lasted only about five seconds, it felt like five eternities.

“Or else what? Huh!?” Alexandrite muttered.

Aventurine grew tired of Alexandrite by the second. Every time the clock in her mind ticked, the more fed up she got with her. There was only one solution left.

That was to attack her.

With the glow of her gem, Aventurine summoned her weapon. With a swing of an axe, Aventurine aimed to hit her former friend.

Alexandrite’s quick reflexes saved her from any damage. She quickly slid away, her feet skidding against the ground.
“Listen to me Aventurine! I don’t want to fight you!” Alexandrite argued.

“Then why are you making me do this, huh!?”

Alexandrite started to tear up. Her bright teal eyes became shiny as the tears welled up.

“I… don’t know…”

Aventurine dropped her weapon. “We shouldn’t be fighting… we’re friends…”

As Alexandrite turned her back to leave, Aventurine grabbed the end of her cape.

“We aren’t… you’re right…” Alexandrite said.

“I’m a horrible gem who did horrible things. I don’t deserve you.”
