What Happened In Cancun

Summary:

Alex and Morgan visit Cancun after Alex's elaborate revenge plot. Antics ensue!

Notes:

Hey! Just a quick author's note, I've been watching and commenting on Lighthouse's tiktoks for long enough that I figured it was time to actually put in my own little bit of Canon, for during Cancun. And just to get it out of the way, in any S & D tier content now or in the future is gonna have Alex using it/it's pronouns (fight me about it I use them too >:]) and Morgan will be using they/them. And you know what lighthouse says about Canon, if you don't like it just read it and replace them with the ones your Canon uses!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

---AS THE PRIVATE JET LANDS AT AN UNKNOWN AIRSTRIP IN CANCUN---

"See, now I know why you like borrowing my jet so much, it's so comfy in here." Alex said, stretching as it yawned and stood. Morgan, on the other hand, had pulled an earbud and held it as they bopped their head to their music and listened to Alex.

"What, you didn't use it before?" They asked, almost jokingly. Alex, tone deaf as usual, shrugged. "Nah, not really. It's sooooo much slower than me."

Morgan shook their head and paused their music as the plane touched down smoothly. "How do I keep forgetting you can do shit like that?"

"Because my experiences aren't universal, you said it yourself. Don't worry though, I'm trying out relaxing and taking it slow on this holiday, especially after the thing with the jungle heist." Alex shrugged and grinned, eyes flashing gold for a moment as it remembered learning why Morgan loved their heists so much.

The pair grabbed their rucksacks from the overhead compartments, leaving the air conditioned interior of the plane for the sun-baked private airstrip just outside. Morgan rolled their neck, hearing and feeling the satisfying crack after the last few hours sat down. Alex shivered, almost cartoon-catlike in the way it's spine moves at the sounds. "Still hate that your bones do that. So creepy."

"Creeped out by cracking bones, if only the heroes knew; your mortal weakness!" Morgan cackled cracking their knuckles at Alex's face, flexing their palms towards it. The supervillain under attack mockingly shyed away, chuckling slightly. "Oh no, the one thing that beats me, crappy underevolved humans!" It cried, overexaggerating it's words and pretending to feel faint like a victorian lady.

---1 HOUR LATER, AT THE [REDACTED] HOTEL, [REDACTED], CANCUN---

Morgan shoved their suitcase under the double bed with a groan. "You really had this whole revenge planned out and still booked the 'St Valentine lovemaker suite' for the honeymoon?" They asked, pinching the bridge of their nose and pushing up their glasses with a sigh.

Alex rolled its eyes and grinned. "Look, are you trying to tell me my future bride wouldn't have been weirded out by me getting us separate rooms for our honeymoon? I was gonna use your plan of asking for a cot, but they didn't have any spare."

Morgan just sighed again, scrunching their eyes shut for a moment. "At least it's a double bed we're sharing this time and not a single."

---5 AM, THE HOTEL, POST-PARTYING---

Alex supported an incredibly drunk Morgan on it's shoulder, taking them as gently as it could to the bed.

"Mmm, don' go!" Morgan exclaimed as Alex stood to get them a glass of water, flailing out and latching onto it's arm. "What? I'm not going anywhere, I'm just getting you some water."

"No! D-don' go, I love you, please?" Morgan mumbled, clinging to it. Alex flushed bright red, even tone deaf as it was it was hard to hear Morgan say those words so bluntly, even if they were drunker than a skunk. "Hey, I'm not going anywhere, alright? I'm right here Morgan."

---4 PM, THE NEXT DAY---

Morgan woke softly in the late afternoon with a quiet yawn, snuggling into... Well, they didn't actually know what. They opened their eyes slowly, the low sun's light easy on their eyes, but not easier than Alex, who they were wrapped around-

ALEX, WHO THEY WERE WRAPPED AROUND?!

Morgan jumped up from the bed, bright red, rushing into the en-suite bathroom and slamming the door behind them, locking it and hyperventilating. They slid down the door with a hand over their mouth, the memory of Alex's topless body fresh in their mind after they woke up cuddling it. After a moment the handle jiggled, then a knock came. "Morgan, are you alright?"

Morgan quickly crawled to the toilet, fake vomiting and pulling on the handle to make the toilet flush. "All good here! Just a little trouble from last night." They shouted back with a groan, not faking any of the shaking or weakness in their voice.

This honeymoon was going to kill them.

---5 DAYS LATER, AT A WATERFRONT BAR ON A PRIVATE BEACH---

Morgan sipped on their mojito, looking out at the crystal clear waves of the ocean beside them. They had so far managed to avoid any more awkward situations with Alex, but that morning still floated through their mind, distracting them every time they shut their eyes with thoughts of it's body, how warm it was, how safe they felt- Damn it! It happened again. They sighed and shook their head, Alex really was gonna be the end of them.

Alex was relaxing in a small bookshop and cafe reading a new crime novel with a freshly brewed espresso and a delicious ham & cheese toastie. It looked out at the bustling Cancun street outside for a moment, losing itself in it's thoughts, as they floated back through the vacation to... To Morgan, drunk, clinging to it's arm. 'I love you'. It shook it's head and groaned, scratching the back of it's neck. Morgan was drunk, that didn't count for anything. Based on how they acted the day after they either had no clue they'd said anything or knew but was so embarrassed they refused to comment on it. Alex knew it's crush on Morgan was unrequited, knew without reading their mind, because it could never take that privacy from them.

---ON THE PLANE HOME---

Alex sat in the comfy chairs of it's private jet with a happy sigh, reclining with a button as Morgan slept across from it. All in all, it considered the honeymoon a success. Morgan had been... A little cagey, but generally they seemed to enjoy themselves as much as it had. It let it's eyes shut for a well deserved nap, knowing it's mind would drift to it's friend in it's sleep, but welcoming the dreams where it could fulfill it's desires on the way home.
