Work Text:
The Prince sat by himself on a lonely little planet, pondering to himself,
Was he really worth anything at all?
He felt that there was nothing from him to love
Though he hides all this from his fans
No one can know.
He sat and thought and thought
All his friends seemed better
They all seem more talented and special
Wacky with his fashion sense
W.B Rose with his music
Really with their technologic knowledge
And Ted=Pete’s artistry.
He began to cry,
His tears dripping down his face
He felt worthless
He felt like he did not matter at all
What was the point anyways
Everyone was better than him no matter what he did
He felt he had no talents
Being an idol was nothing
His looks were simply luck
And everyone could play the guitar and sing anyways,
They all learned faster than him and were always better
He gripped his arms tightly and kept on sobbing
Tear after tear…
‘But you are more than your guitar and your looks
More than what you can’t and can do
Look at your kind heart the love for the worlds
What makes you happy and makes you willing to live
To wake up and enjoy this twisting and entangled
Universe where the real universe is your consciousness in itself
And that's you, isn’t that beautiful’
Having felt Prince M’s distress
And hearing his gentle sobbing
NaN had come to cheer him up
This was what she was here for anyways
To bring everyone to a good mood
Even the gods of the world
He looked up to see a kind and gently face
Smiling down on him
His tears kept on falling, but he felt
Some sense of peace
Though he had a hard time believing anything that was told to him
He started to realize…
So much self worth put on silly talents
And what even is talent
What is skill
If not another measurement made by the minds of people
To try to put a sense to this intricate world
He could see, feel, love, smell, taste, hear…
He could enjoy life
Isn’t that all that mattered
Not how ‘good’ you are at something
But your own happiness in life
What made you a good person was up to everyone
Up to different interpretations
And opinions and experiences
‘You getting all worked up over a mere man made concept
It’s ok, you’re ok
You are not broken, no one is perfect
You are beautiful as you are
The life you oh so love and the beautiful planets
All the cosmic bodies and entities
None of it is perfect or superior to the other
All of this depends on perceptions’
He began to understand
He was fine, there was no need to be talented
Or skilled or anything
That was ignoring all of him
Focusing on the unnecessary
He was Prince M,
Kind and beautiful and loving
Curious and as imperfect as the universe itself
And embrace this beauty he will
He felt himself relaxing more and more
Hearing the djinn’s voice put him in some sort of
Peaceful, spiritual-like trance
He felt more connected to the universe,
More connected to himself
And realized
Deep down
He did love himself.
Nothing was wrong with him.
‘I see..
Thank you for telling me
Thank you for your wisdom and your peace
I now realize that I am simply me
My flaws and strengths
All which makes me unique and me,
You can’t just leave out the flaws,
They’re as beautiful all together’
NaN nodded gently
And gave him a warm loving hug
She let go and bid him farewell
And Prince M began to play a little tune
On his little guitar.
