Mori Mori: Have you seen this?
The discord message came through a few moments after Kiyoomi ended his stream. Usually he would ignore it, but he was feeling a little antsy tonight, so a distraction from his cousin sounded perfect.
The link Komori sent was to a YouTube video called “Idiot Twin’s Scary Bedtime Story” and thinking it would just be another creepypasta, Kiyoomi followed the link without question.
Immediately he was proven wrong.
The video started with some silver-haired man talking about how his brother was scared of everything and telling some story from their childhood. Or maybe from a few weeks ago. Kiyoomi wasn’t really paying attention. Vlogs weren’t his video of choice to watch.
What was Motoya thinking when he sent this to him? He paused the video after a couple of minutes and messaged Motoya back.
Deadly Dreams: I’m not watching a vlog
The response was immediate.
Mori Mori: I promise it’ll be worth it
Kiyoomi sighed but returned to the window the video was paused on and pressed play. He really wasn’t interested and if this video didn’t pick up soon he’d abandon it paying no mind to his cousin’s pleas.
He was about to give up on the video when he heard his channel’s name.
“And yet this absolute fool falls asleep ta Deadly Dream’s videos.” There was a pause like the silver haired man was waiting for the viewers to say something before grinning and nodding. “I know ya won’t believe me without proof so here ya go.”
There was a harsh cut to a video of a blonde haired man laying in bed and Kiyoomi’s voice playing out at a low volume.
“I ran. There was nothing else I could do. Even as I heard the screams coming from behind me, knowing someone was being torn into, all I could do was run.”
Kiyoomi paused the video and tried to process what he was watching. It was always weird hearing his own voice—that’s why he hired Komori to be his editor. And manager. And PR and…everything really. But it was a new level of weird hearing it coming through another person’s video.
Kiyoomi braced himself, really not knowing what to expect next before hitting play.
“‘Tsumu,” the silver haired man’s voice rang out. “What’re ya doin’?”
“Sleepin’” the blonde mumbled as he turned his face away from the light shining on him.
“Yer listenin’ to a horror story.”
“Nah I’m listenin’ to a god speak.”
Kiyoomi’s eyebrows shot up at that. People had told him his voice was nice, sure. And yeah his comment section was full of people talking about his voice and how deep it was, but it always jostled him.
It was just his voice. It wasn’t like he was doing anything. That’s just how he normally sounded. It was as if someone complimented him on his hair color. It wasn’t something he tried for. It just was.
His eyes darted across the screen, taking in as much detail as he could. The white sheet covering the blonde. The shoulder and arm that showed nonetheless. The sleep tousled hair.
Kiyoomi found himself swallowing hard at the sight and he almost felt annoyed at himself. Almost.
The video continued for a few more minutes. The one twin trying to make fun of the blonde for his obsession with Deadly Dream’s—Kiyoomi’s—voice before eventually cutting back to the silver haired twin sitting in front of the camera laughing.
“Now I didn’t tell him I was gonna post this so it might get taken down but I had to tell ya about this. Deadly Dream if yer watchin’ I just want ya ta know ‘Tsumu is yer biggest fan.” The man laughed before cutting to an outro and Kiyoomi sat there completely stunned.
Deadly Dreams: What did I just watch?
Once Kiyoomi composed himself he shot off another message to Motoya hoping he had some explanation for what this was.
Mori Mori: Your career take off. Please tell me you know who the Miya Twins are.
Kiyoomi didn’t actually know who “The Miya Twins” were. He had his own little bubble on YouTube and he liked it that way. He would watch the most prominent let’s plays that Kodzuken posts and knows about his friends by proxy. He also has his own web of horror-based creators.
They had all become friends and would occasionally post videos together, Kiyoomi never showing his face of course.
He didn’t know how some of his friends did it. He was sitting at a wild 450K subscribers and was terrified of being recognized in public.
Some of his friends were even more popular. They always laughed off his concerns though, saying it was fine when people recognized them. There were only a couple bad fan stories. But those few kept Kiyoomi from wanting to show his face. Being anonymous was better.
Kiyoomi decided to scroll through the twin’s channel though and see why Motoya was freaking out.
17 Million subscribers.
Kiyoomi blinked slowly at the number. He couldn’t even fathom something like that. And they had mentioned his channel.
Deadly Dream: What do I do?
He messaged Komori, feeling completely out of his element. Was he supposed to make a video back? What would happen if he just ignored it? Kiyoomi had scrolled through their videos and they weren’t his typical thing to talk about. Mainly vlogs and competitions with odd punishments.
Mori Mori: Comment?
Deadly Dream: Comment what though Toya? This is weird
Mori Mori: Just whatever you thought of the video. It doesn’t have to be long.
What he thought of the video? Kiyoomi didn’t even know.
He clicked back to the video and saw it had hundreds of thousands of more views. It had been posted during the last few minutes of his livestream. There was no way more than 30 minutes had passed since the video went up.
Kiyoomi watched it again, this time trying to pay attention to the whole thing.
Apparently the blonde was easily scared and had troubles falling asleep, but Kiyoomi’s voice was able to help.
He chewed on his lip as he drummed his fingers lightly on his keys, not pressing hard enough to start typing yet.
What did he think of the video? Well, Kiyoomi was never one to lie or hide his feelings and he wasn’t going to start now.
He typed out a one word comment and turned off his computer, not wanting to anxiously sit there watching what was about to happen.

Kiyoomi really was just going to make food and relax without checking social media or looking at his phone at all, but when it rang for the third time in a row he caved and picked up.
“What?” He groaned, hoping he didn’t sound too annoyed.
“Don’t you what me,” Komori’s voice came through the receiver. “Have you seen what you’ve done?”
Kiyoomi just stayed silent. No he hadn’t seen it, but also he didn’t think anything would happen. He was a small-ish channel commenting on another channel when he was mentioned.
How much could have happened?
“You and Atsumu are both trending on Twitter and there are thousands of comments on the video about you two.”
Oh. So apparently a lot could have happened.
“Also you hit one million subscribers so now you have to do something for it,” Komori added to the extended silence he was met with. “Also part two—“
“Shut up for just a minute,” Kiyoomi whispered. He made his way to the computer and impatiently waited for it to turn back on.
Why had he turned it off in the first place? To silence discord? To make his life more difficult? How had he more than doubled his subscriber count? And why? Were they only there because of the twins? Or did they really like his content?
Kiyoomi found that idea hard to even entertain. No way were the people who liked to watch the Miyas see who could eat more peanut butter in five minutes would also want to listen to horror stories.
Finally the computer was on and Kiyoomi opened his channel.
Right there in front of his face was proof people were at least a little interested. One point two million subscribers. And counting.
A strangled noise made its way out of his throat.
“Kiyo? You okay?” Komori asked, genuine worry heavy in his voice.
“Yes? No?” Kiyoomi dropped his head to his desk. “I don’t know. This is a lot.”
“Yeah, I know it is,” Komori agreed, tone soothing. “It’ll be okay though.”
“Will it?” Kiyoomi didn’t mean to sound as harsh as he did but this was quite literally his worst nightmare coming true.
A bit ironic if you asked him. A horror channel’s worst nightmare biting them in their ass.
“I didn’t want this. At least not like this. Not this fast. I haven’t even celebrated half a million and now I’m well past that? Motoya, my follower account has tripled.”
“Holy shit, already?” Kiyoomi could hear as Komori typed something into his computer and clicked the mouse a few times. Most likely he was checking Kiyoomi’s channel and latest video. Seeing if damage control was needed. If this new fame also brought new harassment.
“What was your also part two?”
“Huh?”
“You said also part two before I cut you off. What was it?”
“Oh!” Komori started to laugh. “Do you know Atsumu’s Twitter? Go look at it.”
Kiyoomi did not know Atsumu’s Twitter. He didn’t know the man existed four hours ago, but it didn’t take a genius to go to the YouTube channel and find a link.
He snorted at what he saw.

“Sakusa Kiyoomi,” Komori’s voice was sharp and instantaneous. “This notification that I just got about you tweeting better be a thank you for one million tweet and not a response to Atsumu.”
“Hmm…and if it is a response to him?”
There was the faintest trace of a smile on his face despite everything that was happening. Kiyoomi found himself intrigued by Atsumu, wanting to know more about him.
He tuned Komori’s lecture out as he went to Atsumu’s page and switched over to the media tab looking for pictures. Half of him wanted to see what Atsumu found worth capturing and sharing. The other half of him just wanted to stare at the blonde.
“And now he’s responded. Great.”
“Wait, what?” Kiyoomi asked, giving a bit of attention back to his cousin.
“Atsumu responded. He said it was a typo so I was right. He messed up and none of his friends pointed it out because it was funny. But that’s not what’s important right now!”
Kiyoomi groaned. “Can’t we figure this out tomorrow? We weren’t expecting this so of course we don’t have anything planned.”
As he spoke he navigated back to the main page of Atsumu’s Twitter to look for the new tweet

“KIYOOMI!” Komori screamed this time. “You cannot be saying things like this!”
“Why not? It’s harmless joke flirting.”
“Joke flirting? When have you ever—“ Komori cut himself off with a sigh. “I will change the password and lock you out of Twitter right now if you don’t stop.”
Kiyoomi leaned back in his chair and made sure he put enough force in the movement that his cousin could hear it through the phone. “Okay fine. It’s just a nice distraction from this insane shit that’s happening.”
“Well this insane shit is going to get worse if you keep interacting with Atsumu,” Komori pointed out. “He’s why this is happening.”
“Not that,” Kiyoomi responded quickly. “The other thing.”
“Oh.”
They both sat there in silence after that, not knowing what to say. Kiyoomi, unsure of speaking his mind and unsure of what Komori even could say to make him feel better.
“If you need to take time off—“
“Stop.” Kiyoomi’s voice was hard, but there was a weakness evident. “Please don’t say it.”
“You’re dealing with something really heavy. It’s okay to not be okay, Kiyo.”
“No it isn’t,” this time Kiyoomi’s voice broke as tears welled up in his eyes. “Especially not now. Not now that so many people want to support me. I need to thank them.”
“What you need to do is take care of yourself,” Komori urged. “You were just diagnosed with—“
“Stop,” Kiyoomi said again. “Please stop.”
“No. You were just diagnosed with fibromyalgia. You literally wake up every single day feeling like shit and there’s no treatment. You were dealt an insane blow and it makes sense you’re struggling.”
Kiyoomi didn’t say anything. He didn’t know what to say. It was hard to accept the diagnosis even though he had been searching for an answer for years. He simply tried to control his breathing as his cousin kept talking.
“I’m glad you finally have a diagnosis, but it’s a shit one. And don’t even get me started on all the other comorbidity illnesses you have because of this. Depression. Agoraphobia. Anxiety. You’re dealing with a lot, Kiyo. It’s okay to take a break.”
“I don’t want to be weak,” his voice came as a whisper but it was so hard to voice how he felt. “I don’t want this. I want to be able to live my life.”
“You can live your life. You just need some breaks and—“
“Say that it’s okay one more fucking time, Motoya.” Kiyoomi struggled to speak as silent tears streamed down his cheeks. “I know you’re trying to help and I appreciate it, but I just need to be upset right now.”
And wasn’t that just another super shitty part about this whole thing. People wanted to help. Would reach out and try to be supportive and nice and so fucking kind but god Kiyoomi was tired.
It took everything in him not to snap when he was really upset and to apologize when he did, but it was so hard. All he wanted to do right now was scream. Everything was shit. Every single day was exhausting. And people kept telling him it was okay. But it wasn’t. It isn’t okay living like this. It actually is horrible and ridiculous and every single day he woke up he had to convince himself to actually get out of bed and do whatever he could to survive because he had to survive even when he really didn’t want to.
“Sorry I just—I need to just take some time.”
“You don’t need to apologize,” Komori’s own voice was soft. “Take your time and I’ll brainstorm on stuff. Just let me know when you’re ready to talk.”
Kiyoomi just sat in his chair after that, letting his thoughts swirl through his mind, giving in to this despair he’s felt for the past week. Being told there was nothing that could be done for his pain was horrible.
Pain surged in the base of his throat and Kiyoomi bit down hard. Because of course his GERD would act up now too. Everything was piling up and up and up and every time he thought it couldn’t get worse it did.
Anxiety over the situation started to take over but a ping from his computer snagged his attention. It was a message from Twitter.
Kiyoomi held onto this distraction as though his life depended on it. And maybe a bit of it did.
A DM from Atsumu.
Miya Atsumu:
Hey sorry if that last tweet was too much! I kno we don’t know each other I was just goin with the vibes!
Kiyoomi’s face scrunched up in confusion and he headed to Atsumu’s page to find the tweet in question.

Kiyoomi found himself smiling and liking the tweet before responding. He hadn’t realized he was spiraling for so long. He was really thankful for Atsumu.
Deadly Dreams:
lol no worries I was just busy for a minute there. I know I was flirting heavily. Please let me know if I ever make you uncomfortable.
Atsumu’s response was almost instantaneous.
Miya Attsumu:
I’m reeling from the fact u say lol
and I really don’t think u could make me uncomfortable lol
Deadly Dreams:
oh good to know
Kiyoomi stared at the last message he sent and frowned. He wanted to continue the conversation but didn’t know how, and he didn’t want Atsumu to think he didn’t want to talk to him. Thankfully he didn’t have to wait long for Atsumu to message back.
Miya Atsumu:
ok wait b honest
did u kno who I was before this video?
there’s a bet I have to win
Kiyoomi debated how to respond. If he was honest he might hurt Atsumu’s feelings and he might not want to talk anymore. But he didn’t want to lie.
Deadly Dreams:
ah, honestly no I didn’t know who you or your brother were, but I just exist in my small little world. I’m surprised someone like you knew of me though
Three dots popped up and went away multiple times before he received a response.
Miya Atsumu:
lol ok fair I lost the bet but that’s fine
dude my friend Suna made me watch one of yr vids
he was tryin to scare me like a dick
but it backfired and I started watchin all yr stuff
so I guess I should thank him?
wait if u didn’t kno abt me before this how did u find the vid
The constant ping of new messages made Kiyoomi laugh. It was the complete opposite to how he typed. He preferred to send long messages, everything he needed to say contained in one thing whereas it looked like Atsumu just said whatever however he wanted.
It made it feel like they were actually talking rather than messaging on some silly app. Maybe this was something he could look forward to getting used to.
Deadly Dreams:
lol maybe I should thank him. My cousin sent me the vlog - no idea how he found it
Miya Atsumu:
damn who’s yr cousin
gotta thank him fer bein a fan
Deadly Dreams:
@mori_mori
Kiyoomi sat back in his chair, unsure if he should have told Atsumu.
