White hair, Don't care

Summary:

Wen Kexing is a leader of the leader of the Mean girls' squad. Zhou Zishu is just chilling, digging his new skin care routine and trying to understand why is Wen Kexing everywhere he looks.

Mean Girls AU without any of meanness.

Notes:

Can you tell that I've been watching Mean Girls again? Just clips though. Anyways, Wen Kexing's white hair look inspired this fic and it kinda spun from there into this.

Btw, can you imagine Wen Kexing as a mean girl leader, aka Regina George? I totally can. Maybe we need an AU of Wen Kexing trying to get Zhou Zishu, the newcomer, to join his clique of hotties and instead ends up falling in love with him and dispersing the Mean girls for good. Just a thought.

For the reader's discretion: Wen Kexing uses popular teen movies quotes (cuz he is a modern teenager and I totally see him hanging out on the teen section movies in his free time) instead of poems of ancient China. Plus, I am sadly not that well-versed in them, having grown up on Slavic and European literature.

Enjoy!

Work Text:

'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'

When Wen Kexing showed up in school that day, everyone stared at him.

He was already a well-known figure, being tall and handsome, while also a star regular in most of the school plays as the main lead. His high sense of fashion and style distinguished him from others, and he kept to the popular group of people in the school, making him stand out and be recognized by the whole of the student body.

Yet, that day, his popularity reached a new height, as the main topic of conversation was discussing Wen Kexing's looks. Specifically, how his envious, raven black hair that fell in an attractive slope down his back, giving him a distinctly feminine look was bleached white.

Ice white. Bone white.

And how good it looked.

That day, moving to his usual morning spot where he started his school day, he was followed by almost every eye of the student body, taking in his long, white hair, his tall figure clad in well-fitted slacks and a blazer as he strutted forward as if he was on his personal runway, leaving behind himself a trail of faster beating hearts and some newly formed crushes in his classmates' minds.

He didn't see most of it because he had a place to get to, which was a very specific locker with a number 236, placed away from his own exactly ten meters. A tragedy, in Wen Kexing's opinion, but one that the administration officials didn't see as such enough to allow him to switch closer.

Every day, precisely between 6:41 to 6:52 Wen Kexing arrived, knowing that at that time of the morning his favorite thing of the day will be there.

"Ah, A-Xu! Who allowed you to be this beautiful?" He calls out as he spots Zhou Zishu's familiar shoulder blades already at the locker, enticing him even through a thin white shirt he wore, the school blazer swang over Zhou Zishu's arm as he was disposing of his stuff in the locker.

"Already, Lao Wen? It's too early for-" Zhou Zishu asks as he turns and promptly freezes.

Pleased with the initial reaction, Wen Kexing tosses his hair back, grinning. "How do you like it?"

Zhou Zishu gapes at him, completely still.

Well, goal achieved. Impress his dear A-Xu and make him properly fall in love with Lao Wen.

However, after a few stunned moments, Zhou Zishu continued to stare without saying a word. Unusual, there wasn't even a facial reaction to goad his thoughts.

Blinking at the prolonged reaction, Wen Kexing says, "Ah, it's not bad, is it? Everyone says it's good."

"Who's everyone?" Zhou Zishu finally responds, voice strangely strangled.

Wen Kexing comes up to him to lean on the lockers as he ticks off the people who complimented him on his decision and change delivery.

"Ah, my mom, Gu Xian, Luo Fumeng, Liu Qianqiao, Cao Weining, and some people I didn't know."

"You accept compliments from strangers?"

Wen Kexing thinks he sees Zhou Zishu's eyebrow twitch. It feels a tad judging.

Jealousy, perhaps? He hides a smile, adopting an innocent face.

"Everyone is a stranger compared to my dear A-Xu who knows me the best," Wen Kexing says with a pretty smile.

Zhou Zishu rolls his eyes, sighs, and slams the locker shut.

"Lao Wen, you need to learn some shame."

And walks away.

"Ah, A-Xu, wait up! You didn't tell me what you think of my hair!"

'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'

Zhou Zishu had two problems in his life. One was his entrance exam for a prestigious college that he has been preparing for almost three years now and which stressed him out. Another is Wen Kexing who has been his annoying shadow since they met on the first day of high school.

For the first fifteen seconds of their acquaintanceship, Zhou Zishu believed him to be a normal, polite person.

Until Lao Wen said, “I don't believe we've met, what with the cruel politics of high school and all.”

And Zhou Zishu concluded that he was a living, walking pain in the ass.

Who also happens to be pretty, ridiculously endearing, and could make Zhou Zishu laugh from time to time.

Not that anyone is asking.

But, two days ago, instead of preoccupying thirty to forty percent of Zhou Zishu's thoughts, Lao Wen has shamelessly taken up to eighty-five percent of Zhou Zishu's attention, leaving Zhou Zishu with barely enough brainpower to do his school work and get on time to his martial arts training. Never mind that the quality of his work is steadily dropping as his brain wanders again and again to Lao Wen.

Who dyed his hair.

White.

Who does that?

Who does that and looks so good with it?

Zhou Zishu couldn't figure it out. He had seen plenty of ice blondes in his life, be it wigs, naturals or dyes, and he never looked twice beyond the initial shock of spotting them.

Now, his mind only thought about Wen Kexing and his white hair. Which made him look somehow ethereal. Beyond this plane.

He almost wants to demand he dyes it back to his natural black to allow Zhou Zishu to have some peace of mind.

He sighs, pushing away the essay that he has been working on in the secluded part of the library on the first floor, rubbing his eyes, moving the clear framed glasses for reading away.

"A-Xu!"

Speak of the devil.

Wen Kexing climbs up to the first floor of the library with quick, graceful steps, which reminded Zhou Zishu of how models would walk when he saw them marching down the runways displayed on the big screens in clothing stores. in Zhou Zishu's private opinion, they didn't compare much to Wen Kexing who was approaching him with a quick pace while smiling wide as per his usual countenance.

And today his shocking white hair was done in intricately braided hairdo, pulled up in a half-bun with softly curled waves framing his face.

Zhou Zishu swallows heavily before looking away, focusing on his notes by the sheer force of will. Or what's left of it.

He is somewhat successful at it until Wen Kexing demands his presence to be acknowledged by plopping himself firmly in Zhou Zishu's lap, throwing his arms around his neck.

"A-Xu, I missed you!"

"Lao Wen!" Zhou Zishu hisses at him, hands coming up to hold Lao Wen's side and steady him by sheer instinct. Just that, no other reason, if anyone asked.

"Come on, A-Xu, no one is watching, I checked. One kiss?"

Zhou Zishu glances about the secluded area, looks at Wen Kexing's pouting face, and rolls his eyes.

He leans up to press a gentle kiss on his lips before pulling back to admire Wen Kexing's lips twisting into a pleased grin.

He is ignoring the fact that he can feel his lips answer with a smile of his own before he promptly picks Wen Kexing up and disposes of him on the table.

"A-Xu!" Wen Kexing protests, impossible as he is, making a sad face at him.

"Don't. This is your idea," Zhou Zishu tells him, pointedly.

Wen Kexing pouts. "That's because I don't want to lose my A-Xu!"

Zhou Zishu rolls his eyes. His boyfriend and his lunatic plans. If one can take two steps forward to a goal, Lao Wen will take eight in a complicated, and insane plane to reach the same destination.

How Zhou Zishu ever fell for him, he has no idea.

"Just tell them," Zhou Zishu says.

"You know I can't do that!"

Zhou Zishu rolls his eyes again. He'll charge Wen Kexing for their treatment if they ever fell out. He causes most of the eye rolls, after all.

Which increased since they started dating and Zhou Zishu had to also learn to play the part of being a super-secret "spy" boyfriend while on the date with apparently a madman.

When Zhou Zishu first agreed to date Lao Wen he had no idea he was signing up to be a regular cast member in a low-budget Mission Impossible movie, with Lao Wen directing.  Zhou Zishu learned that one can have dinner dates on the rooftops ("No one can see us from here, A-Xu, unless they have a private helicopter.") Or that it can be fun having a date by running up the hill to be able to eat ice-creams (Zhou Zishu's favorite pictures are of Lao Wen being smudged by chocolate and smiling widely like a kid into a camera before he realized he the state of his face.) Or that one can have a good time driving the train from one way to another while sharing earphones. If anything else, their dating life required much more creativity and forethought than Zhou Zishu ever assumed one needed to do so.

Zhou Zishu had a theory that Lao Wen lived his life as if he was the main character of his own movie which he was writing, directing, and producing. And dragging Zhou Zishu in it like an unwilling, scowling romantic interest.

He sometimes thinks that his boyfriend does it only for the drama and excitement of sneaking around rather than true anxiety of the consequences of being found out. Still, Zhou Zishu could admit, at least to himself, that it adds a certain level of anticipation to their interactions when in public. They make good use of it later when they are alone.

Still, it has been going on for a while now. Ever since they started dating. Never mind that until that point Wen Kexing had shamelessly, relentlessly pursued Zhou Zishu for almost an entire year in front of all of their peers. Zhou Zishu lost count of how many times he had to fight down a blush because of Lao Wen that first year.

He even had declared ridiculous words like, "A-Xu, do you want to know how it happened? I fell in love with you the way you fall asleep: Slowly, and then all at once."

And now, while they remained friendly in front of the general public, Lao Wen explicitly declared that nothing indicating them being in a relationship can be leaked out or hinted at.

As if his teen romance movie quoting didn't fall in that category.

How Lao Wen explained his everyday waiting by Zhou Zishu's locker for him and leaving chocolate and small treats for all eyes to see, as friendly and unassuming, Zhou Zishu had no idea.

Wen Kexing explained once, meaning that he didn't explain anything at all, only making Zhou Zishu conclude that his boyfriend tended to have a self-delusion streak a mile high from time to time.

But, the fact remained that Zhou Zishu couldn't grab his hand after school and take him for ice cream across the street. And all because his ridiculous boyfriend was part of what Zhou Zishu called privately in his head "The Mean Girls" clique.

They were a high fashion, high performance, no-nonsense, exclusive girl group that had one uniting, defining quality of shunning guys from themselves and being vocal about it in a passive-aggressive way. They were an impressive bunch of untouchable girls that scared most of the guys away and who somehow, for no reason whatsoever, accepted and hailed Wen Kexing, a guy , as their leader.

Zhou Zishu is pretty sure the reason why Wen Kexing is the leader of the girl clique is that they mistake him for one.

He is certainly prettier than most of them.

If Zhou Zishu ever thought he would understand girls, he gave up on that thought the moment he learned that.

"Like they don't already know," he says because he is pretty sure that they do. The frequent eye-tracking he receives coupled with raised eyebrows and occasional scoff was indication enough.

"They don't! I have it all under control!" Wen Kexing declared imperiously, looking like some sort of heavenly prince that has come down to Earth with a specific mission to torture Zhou Zishu with his existence.

"Doesn't Gu Xian have a boyfriend?" He asks mildly, curious.

He didn't expect a fire to light up in Wen Kexing's eyes, promising chaos. "As if!" He snaps.

Zhou Zishu raises an eyebrow before huffing a laugh. "That Cao Weining?"

Calming down from the sudden rage as soon as it started, Wen Kexing waves his hand, though a rare frown of annoyance remains. Zhou Zishu fondly observes it, thinking of kissing it away.

"He wouldn't dare. He is nothing. She is helping him by tutoring him. The poor thing is abysmal at literature."

"I thought it was the other way around."

Wen Kexing lets out a long, suffering sigh. "Truth to be told, they are both horrible at it. I have no idea how. I made her watch all the classics multiple times."

Zhou Zishu snorts a laugh, thinking of Cao Weining's meek shadow that he often saw trailing after Gu Xian's impressive gait for months now.

Tutoring. Sure.

He regards Wen Kexing, wondering when will his boyfriend figure out that his little group of men-hating mean girls isn't so men-hating, or so mean?

"Anyways, you still didn't tell me what you think about my hair!" Wen Kexing declares and Zhou Zishu freezes like a deer in the headlights.

"Uh…"

"Do you like it?"

That question has been haunting him for two days straight now since Lao Wen first showed up looking like a first-class celebrity.

He stands up, swiftly, gathering his things. "I just remembered. I have a… a thing to go to. I'll text you."

"A-Xu-!"

Zhou Zishu quickly kisses his further words silent before dashing away.

Not the smartest move he ever did.

Sure it bought him some time to sort himself out, but his boyfriend was also a bloodhound for mysteries, especially the ones revolving around Zhou Zishu. What he just did was release a hungry tiger off his chain and left a trail of blood in his wake.

Zhou Zishu just needed to first figure out how to handle having Wen Kexing even more attractive than he usually was. Which he thought was an impossible task.

Apparently not.

Zhou Zishu didn't have it easy in his life. His super-secret spy life was catching up to him.

'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'

He wondered how long it would take for Wen Kexing to find him. Unlike Zhou Zishu, Wen Kexing couldn't leave any matter well enough alone.

Setting off to the last place Wen Kexing will check, he settles himself into a guy's locker room, probably the most uncomfortable room in the whole school, but also the most Wen Kexing proofed one.

For reasons of pure pretentiousness, also known as Wen Kexing turning up his nose at getting sweaty in the middle of the school day and being forced to use substandard boy's locker room shower, he had taken to procuring a medical excuse note to avoid attending gym class for a whole year since the first day of school. How he managed to do it, Zhou Zishu still hasn't figured it out. How teachers and school accepted it year after year boggled him even more. Especially since Wen Kexing had a built body speaking of vigorous exercise.

Which school population mostly speculated about and were far off the mark in guessing what made Wen Kexing so hot, was that Wen Kexing was actually a hard-core gymnast who also had a black belt in kung fu. He was so good that he was attending local and national level competitions from time to time.

It was also one of the ways how Wen Kexing won him over, having managed to push him on the floor and keep him there for a few seconds before Zhou Zishu twisted from under him. They have been bickering ("flirting, A-Xu") before they came to an idea to measure up their martial arts skills against each other behind the school one day during their, how Lao Wen refers to them, courting days. They ended up missing the class that day.

Zhou Zishu was also a little bit in love with him from that moment forward.

Zhou Zishu sighs, leaning against the cold wall. It really stank in here. He was rethinking his decision to come here when he heard the squeaking doors of the gym opening and closing.

Alerted, he perks up, waiting to see who came in.

Cao Weining peaks around the corner, eyes widening when he spies him before speaking.

"Zhou Zishu!"

"Uh, yes?"

"Zhou Zishu! I'm sorry! Forgive me!'

"What?" Zhou Zishu asks, bewildered as Cao Weining turns, and calls out a familiar name.

Doors squeak again on their hinges and moments later Gu Xian steps in, nose wrinkled. She spies his bemused self and points at him rudely.

"There you are! For shame!"

"Excuse me?"

"How can you be such a bad guy, huh? Telling Wen Kexing his hair is ugly?!"

Jaw slacking, he stares at her in shock.

" What?!"

Gu Xian stomps her foot. "And you are hiding away. Zhou Zishu, you are such a meanie! You shouldn't be allowed to even look at Wei-Xiong!"

Zhou Zishu scrambles on his feet. "Gu Xian, I never said his hair was ugly."

She pauses, frowning in thought before it clears up, accusing again. "Then why is he crying?! You made him cry, you stupid guy!"

The hell? Oh, his boyfriend and his overthinking. He wants to slap a hand against his face and groan.

"Where is he?"

"Like I am telling you!"

"Gu Xian, I promise I don't think his hair is ugly. Now, where is he?"

She hesitates, but says, somewhat uncertain now, "He certainly thinks so."

Cao Weining hesitantly touches his sleeve and she tugs it away, frowning in displeasure.

Still, Cao Weining says, softly. "He seems to be telling the truth."

Gu Xian gives him an assessing look.

"I promise," Zhou Zishu repeats, trying to make himself look as honest as possible.

Gu Xian tilts her chin stubbornly before huffing. "He went home. But Luo Fumeng and Liu Qianqiao are with him. I came to kick your ass!"

Suppressing a snort, Zhou Zishu nods mock seriously. "Noted."

Picking up his stuff, he turns to leave.

"Ah, where are you going?" Gu Xian asks.

"To tell my idiot boyfriend that I think his hair looks pretty."

A cry of delight sounds behind his retreating back and the last thing he hears before the doors swing shut is elated, "I knew it!"

'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'

When Zhou Zishu first came over to Wen Kexing's home for a super-secret sleepover (as Wen Kexing liked to call it, Zhou Zishu still called it staying over, plain and simple), he came to a realization that his new boyfriend had more cosmetic products than the whole of Sephora.

He also learned that it took time to put them on in an elaborate complicated sequence. All in total, the whole process could take up to almost two hours depending on the day.

"Lao Wen, how can your skin even take in all this stuff so much?

"It's a process. Much like courting you."

"I still had to kiss you first for all of your processes."

"You-! A-Xu!"

Almost a month later, Zhou Zishu lost the right to tease him much about it when he foolishly assumed he was immune to Wen Kexing's pouting and creative persuasion methods enough to withstand and avoid being sucked into the madness.

Spoiler alert, he couldn't.

In under a month, Zhou Zishu had spent a small fortune to switch from a perfectly adequate nighttime routine to the complex craziness that was Wen Kexing's two-hour routine. Zhou Zishu did minimize it to 40 minutes for himself, allowing for the long version only when his boyfriend was generous enough to do it for him, thus turning some of their night into elaborate, without shame, self-grooming sessions as he took to applying and wiping Zhou Zishu's face with various creams and masks while they studied or talked.

The fact that his skin was looking better than ever, glowing and soft to the point that even Han Yin who thought good self-care was washing his face with water and had no sense of personal style beyond basics commented on it with admiration, meant he couldn't complain about it one bit.

He especially can't complain when Wen Kexing feels generous enough to treat him to a massage before bed. Which usually turned to kissing. Which than turns to Zhou Zishu finding ways to make Wen Kexing moan without waking up his parents.

'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'

Liu Qianqiao opened up the door of Wen Kexing's house, standing in the doorway like a guard dog. Zhou Zishu has a feeling like he is stepping into the enemy's territory.

"I came to see Lao Wen," he says, standing tall.

She assesses him, long and hard. "And what do you plan to tell him?"

"That he overthinks things," he says bluntly. Anyone who knew Wen Kexing knew what he was talking about.

He must have said the right words because moments later, Liu Qianqiao stepped back to let him in. He nods in thanks and goes up the familiar staircase to Wen Kexing's room.

Wen Kexing is sprawled on the bed, head pillowed by Luo Fumeng's lap as he sighs deeply in despair.

Zhou Zishu wants to shake his head in amusement. His ridiculous, gorgeous boyfriend.

He knocks on the open room's door frame and enjoys the wide-eyed look Wen Kexing adopts when he spies him there.

"A-Xu," he whispers.

"Hey, I came to clear some things up."

Luo Fumeng is giving him a cold stare, not unlike the assessment he already received downstairs, before it softens into thoughtfulness. She nods to Wen Kexing who looks wide-eyed at her, gaping as she gently raises his head to stand up, brushing her skirt straight before leaving.

She doesn't forget to give him a warning look as she passes before she takes Liu Qianqiao's arm, linking them as they disappear downstairs.

"A-Xu," Wen Kexing mutters as Zhou Zishu closes the doors softly, dropping his things by the side. "A-Xu, what are you doing here?"

Zhou Zishu turns to look at his boyfriend, looking so unlike his usual loud, confident self. He steps forward before kneeling beside him, taking his hands in his, taking in his face.

"Were you crying?"

"No," Wen Kexing mutters, looking away.

"I'm sorry."

"Huh?"

"For making you think I didn't like your hair. The truth is that I like it very much. Maybe too much."

"A-Xu."

Zhou Zishu shrugs. "You caught me by surprise," he says and finally lets his eyes take in the whole image of Wen Kexing and how hair falls down his shoulders. He reaches out, surprised at the different texture, the weight of it lighter. Still lovely, especially as it caught the rays of the late sun falling through the window.

Might as well be honest. His boyfriend can't run in circles from that.

"You glow sometimes, Lao Wen. And it catches me by surprise when I least expect it. It's not always the easiest thing to deal with like I can't catch my breath," he shrugs, a tad helplessly. "You blind me so much that I can't think of anything else. It's kinda rude, to be honest," he adds the last and it gets the job done because Wen Kexing lets out a soft laugh, brushing at his eyes.

"A-Xu. That was really… really?" He asks faintly.

Zhou Zishu leans up, pressing his lips against Wen Kexing's cheek. "I really like your hair."

A shuddering breath before arms come around him to crush him against Wen Kexing.

"I feared you hated it and you would break up with me," he confesses quietly.

"Stupid," he says, kissing the side of his head and by proxy, that silky, white hair. He plays with the ends of it where it falls down Wen Kexing's back. "If I didn't put a restraining order for that harassment you called courting, what makes you think I would ever want to break up with you?"

Wen Kexing huffs, offended. "How can you say that? It won you over, didn't it?

Zhou Zishu leans back just enough to look at him.

"You kinda had me at hello," he says and leans forward to kiss the surprise off Wen Kexing.

"A-Xu! You never said anything!"

"Well, then you continued speaking so I thought, hell no."

"A-Xu!" Wen Kexing's outrage makes Zhou Zishu laugh before he tackles his boyfriend to the bed, squeezing the breath out of him through a tight hug. They wrestle, mood lightening up, until Zhou Zishu pins him on the bed, holding his wrists steady and pressing him down with his hips. He looks up and traces Wen Kexing's hair back, gently pushing the strands that fell into his face.

"It's really beautiful, Lao Wen," he says and is rewarded with an answering, beautiful smile.

"Also, I think the cat is out of the bag regarding your entourage."

"I have it under control!"

Zhou Zishu gives him a long look and Wen Kexing sighs, shrugs.

"Fine. We can tell them. But if they try to cut you bloody with their acrylic nails, I ain't responsible!"

"Duly noted."

And kisses his boyfriend again.

Later, when Zhou Zishu dragged wary Wen Kexing downstairs to explain everything, both Liu Qianqiao and Luo Fungmen gave them a superiority look of we-know before taking their leave after giving Wen Kexing warm hugs and kisses and departing with a warning look to Zhou Zishu.

Leaving Zhou Zishu to take care of a pouting and grumbling Wen Kexing now that he was proven to be so wrong in his assessment.

"Girls sometimes don't make sense," Wen Kexing finally sighs as Zhou Zishu presents him with tea to relax him and gets an agreeing nod from Zhou Zishu.

To make up for everything, Zhou Zishu did most of the work that night for their night-time routine to give Wen Kexing a chance to relax, allowing him to talk nonsense without fear of spilling his expensive creams. The main topic was that he is very grateful for his squad for being so open to Wen Kexing's desires. And also, that there seemed to be a complete breakdown in the system that Wen Kexing wasn't informed of, and wasn't that a sign that there is no respect left for him in his clique. Zhou Zishu supposed it was a good thing that Wen Kexing had his eyes closed due to cucumber slices placed on his eyes with eye patches. It would only set Wen Kexing off if he spied Zhou Zishu's exasperated amusement, counterproductive to Zhou Zishu's efforts.

"What made you wanna dye it in the first place?" Zhou Zishu asks finally the question that has been racing around his head for a while.

Wen Kexing is silent for a long moment. Suspiciously long.

"Don't laugh."

"No promises."

"A-Xu!"

"Fine, fine, I'll try. What is it?"

"You know how when I met you, you had a wallpaper of that gaming character Sephiroth on your phone?"

Staring wide-eyed at his boyfriend who was laying down on the bed, Zhou Zishu can feel laughter starting in his gut that he was barely suppressing. "You didn't." He manages to say, mostly sounding like he isn't choking on his laughter.

"I just... I wanted to see if it would look good and maybe you would like how I looked more if I had white hair, or-- A-Xu, you are laughing!" Wen Kexing had taken off the cucumber slices enough to spy Zhou Zishu clutching his stomach, barely containing guffs of laughter.

Zhou Zishu breaks out in a deep belly laugh, heightened when Wen Kexing exclaims, "A-Xu!"

When he finally manages to calm down, Zhou Zishu says, "Lao Wen, silly Lao Wen, don't you know my little brother set it up for me as a joke?"

Wen Kexing blanches, "You don't even like him? Oh my God!" He grabs his hair in distress.

Laughing, Zhou Zishu pulls his boyfriend close, eye patches and face sheet and all, to his chest. "Please tell me you didn't only do it because of me."

"Of course not," Wen Kexing grumbles, not looking him in the eye. "I did triple check if it would suit my skin tone, of course. It wasn't all for you, you know."

"Of course," Zhou Zishu agrees demurely, lips twitching in a large smile. Wen Kexing notices and pushes at him half-heartedly.

"It wasn't. Well, maybe most of it, but not all of it. Like twenty percent of it was totally for me."

Zhou Zishu dissolves in laughter again. When he finally manages to calm down, Wen Kexing asks, a tad hesitant. "So, you don't actually like the character?"

"Lao Wen, I couldn't care less about some gaming character," and Wen Kexing flinches a tad, looking away. "But, I do like you. And you know what?"

"What?"

Zhou Zishu leans forward, close to Wen Kexing. "You remind me of an angel right now."

Wen Kexing blushes a deep, rosy color before his teeth peak out through a large smile. "A-Xu!"

Still laughing, Zhou Zishu takes the face sheet off his boyfriend and rubs gently the residual product in Wen Kexing's skin. This time, as Zhou Zishu was lightly teasing him, Lao Wen was laughing with him.

When they finally settled into bed, comfortable and snuggled, Wen Kexing waited for a while, until his boyfriend's breath deepened and he could see him almost clearly in the dark due to a night lamp in the corner. Pressing close to Zhou Zishu, he can't keep a wide, happy smile from his face.

He whispers, "And when he shall die, cut him out in little stars, he will make the face of heaven so fine, that all the world will be in love with night."

"Lao Wen."

Sheepishly, Wen Kexing smiles, hiding his face in Zhou Zishu's shoulder, and hums. "Did I wake you?"

"Come here," Zhou Zishu tells him, before pulling him into a kiss. He kisses him with soft, lazy kisses until they both fell asleep.

Notes:

Take into consideration that they are teenagers in high school, and not hard-core assassins and mafia bosses. Thus, they kinda have to be childish and ridiculous and silly. But, they still love each other so much, they are still soulmates in the best of sense.

And I totally live for them doing home version spa sessions with each other, relaxing without a care in the world.

I had fun with this one. Thank you for reading!
