You see they brought him back in the body of another man who claimed to be her beloved After proving he had memories, he had no way of knowing Salem used her great magic to inscribe her name onto his arm and made it so that it would show up as soon as his soul had grown into a man and she would always know it was him. Realizing what the gods intended for her to do, she set about casting a great spell for all of human and Faunus' kind so they wouldn't have to suffer looking for their perfect partner. And that's how the soulmates came to be known at least that's what the stories say. Soulmates *true* names appear on the arms on Valentines Day,”
“So please tell me Ruby… what are you writing on your arm?” The Raven haired woman asked the young adult who was writing something on her arm. “My soulmate is cookies because I’m good at making cookies and I like eating them.” Ruby replied as she finished writing cookies on her arm. Her half mother sighed as she shook her head. “Ruby, sweetie you can’t write cookies on your arm and call it your soulmate, that’s not how it works” Raven said with a slight whine in her voice. Suddenly the front door opened revealing a gruff woman. “Mommy Welcome… back.” Ruby's enthusiasm died as she saw her mom carrying a woman who was similar to her age and a massive slash on her left eye.
“Sum-Sum, what happened, who’s this?” Raven asked in quick succession as her wife put down the injured woman next to the fireplace. “I don’t know who she is but I found her floating down the river and barely breathing so she’s alive at least.” Summer replied as she took off her hunting gear. “IN THIS WEATHER!?!” Raven asked as she closed the door on the cold, snow filled wind. “No Ray-Ray I found her in the nice summery part of the neck of the woods.” Summer quipped as she put her gun away.
As the two mothers kinda argued, Ruby was petting the injured woman’s head. “She’s so soft for being out in the frozen water” Ruby thought as she got punched in the face as the woman woke up with a scared look on her face. “Who are you, where am I, in fact who am I, does anyone know who I am?” The woman said as she freaked out. “Ow, ow, ow, Okay first I’m sorry for petting I should have asked first, and I’m Ruby, Ruby rose, would you like some cookies?” Ruby said apologetically. “You shouldn’t have touched her without her permission anyway.” Raven scolded as she rubs Ruby's head, “Please forgive her, she’s autistic and sometimes she can’t control herself.” Summer said as she went into the kitchen to whip up a warm meal for their new guest.
“Why can’t I see out of my left eye? Please tell me what happened to my left eye?” The woman demanded as she started to panic. “Judging by the slash I would say either you were attacked by someone or landed on a sharp rock.” Ruby said as she examined the scar. “Rock, rock,a rock” Weiss thought as her memory started to come back to her. “I think that I was on a boat, no a ferry and I was on the railing when someone was following me. I was scared and the Railing broke under and I fell in the water, hitting a sharp rock when I fell into the water. The Woman said as she touched her scar.
“A ferry? But the only ferry that comes through here is the…” Raven looked at the woman in shock, Raven got into the kitchen when Summer was putting the chuck of vision in the oven, “Oh hi Raven what'cha doin my love?” Summer sang as she hugged her wife. “Summer there’s something I need to tell you about the woman. she might be an elite, specifically a Schnee” Raven said as she held her wife's shoulders. "What? What do you mean by a Schnee?" Summer asked, raising an eyebrow and tilting her head slightly like a puppy.
"She started to regain some of her memories already and she mentioned how she was on a ferry before she fell into the river. And the only ferry that comes by here is the S.S Stardust, the one owned by the Schnee oil and gas." Raven said as she pointed at the woman who was now playing a board game with Ruby. Summer's mood sours at the thought that she saved a woman who was related to the man who got Qrow, her brother-in-law imprisoned. "Are you sure she is a Schnee?” Summer asked as she turned to the white haired woman.
While her parents were having a discussion, Ruby was talking to Weiss about everything as they played monopoly, “Wow Weiss you’re amazing at this game. Are you sure you have never played before?” Ruby asked as she had to declare bankruptcy after Weiss had bought up most of the board, she even bought out the free parking somehow. “I may have never played this game but I was taught the way of business thanks to my tutors” Weiss said as she started to put away all of her properties. “Oh yeah… what company are you taking over anyway?” Ruby asked as she collected all the money.
I think it’s… damn… it starts with a “S” I know that. But what is it?” Weiss said as she struggled to remember. “Well dinner is done so let’s eat.” Summer said as she peeked out of the kitchen. They ate a nice roasted venison dinner with a side of homegrown sauteed kale and homemade mac and cheese. “Hey Weiss, We don’t really have a guest room so you can sleep with me if you want.” Ruby offered as she rubbed the back of her head. “I mean… It would be more comfortable than sleeping on the couch. But yes I would love to” Weiss replied with a bit of a blush.
They enter Ruby’s room. “Somehow Ruby has discovered the middle ground between a messy room and one own by someone with ocd. The wonders of autism I guess.” Weiss thought as she looked around the room, while the floor had clothes and opened boxes on it, her bookshelf of model trains was practically organized by what country they were built in. And in the corner of the room was an entire train diorama with four stations, a lumber mill, a dock with two boats that used to be a pair of shoes. a coal mine with a familiar looking logo. “Schnee coal company,” Weiss said quietly as her head started to hurt.
“Yep back then, Schnee oil and gas was a coal company but when cars and diesels locomotives started to come around,” Ruby was slightly cut off by Weiss “My grandfather saw its potential and slowly replaced the company’s coal mines with oil rigs and ever since then our company has been one of the few who successfully changed industries.” Weiss added as she grabbed her head in pain, it felt like it was going to explode. “Weiss, are you ok… Weiss, what's going on, what’s wrong.” Ruby panicked as she held Weiss close.
Weiss started to remember everything, she remembered that the men that were following her wants to “punish” her in their beds but the scariest part was about the railing she got on, she knew it was faulty, she even slightly loosen the bolts that held it in place so that it would cave in. It wasn’t an accident, it was attempted suicide. And the reason was that her soulmate wouldn’t show and her father was trying to marry her off to men he chose like a glorified sex slave.
After her ptsd-like flashbacks Weiss snapped back to reality as she noticed how Ruby hugged her tightly, she turned around and hugged Ruby back as she started to cry. Then Raven and Summer burst into the room. “Ruby, are you okay?” Raven asked as she held her youngest head up. “I don’t know Mama, Weiss just started holding her head in pain and I didn’t know what to do.” Ruby cried as she hugged Weiss as tight as she could Without hurting her.
"I tried to… I tried to…" Weiss thought as she started to hurt herself by punching her head and biting her other hand. “Weiss nononono,” Ruby grabbed Weiss’s hands and brought them together on her lap as she slightly rubbed them. “You have nice hands, don’t they shouldn’t hurt someone, not even yourself.”Ruby said as her forehead touched Weiss’s “Weiss are you okay? Is there something you want to tell me, we can go to my office if you want.” Summer said in a professional tone.
“I tried to kill myself, why? Why couldn’t I just try to escape.” Weiss said as she started to curl into a ball as she quietly said why over and over again. “Weiss, I really need you to come with me real quick, okay?” Summer said as she put her hand on Weiss’s head only to see her flinch and braced for an attack. Now she wants to hug her and tell her that everything is going to be fine but then again, Qrow did warn her about Weiss’s mental state and how Jacque has a habit of taking his frustration out on Weiss and her family.
“Raven, Ruby can you leave real quick, Weiss and I need a session.” Summer said as she started to pet Weiss’s head. “Can Ruby stay? I feel safe with her, like how my mother felt safe with Qrow.” Weiss said as she slowly reached out for Ruby. “Of course Wei- Wait did you say your mom felt safe with my uncle?” Ruby asked as her eyes widened, she always noticed how Qrow liked to talk about Willow, the one that he was hired to protect and the identity of his soulmate.
“Yes and he’s like a father to me after Klein, my old butler was fired after he let me donate three million to the white fang foundation. My heart still hurts when I learn that he was arrested for protecting my mother from my father.” Weiss said as she tightly hugged Ruby like a koala. Summer took out a pocket notebook. “You know what? That’s a good start, let's start there. How does Qrow make you feel?” Summer asked as she clicked on her train theme pen.
Weiss emergency therapy took 3 hours and it would have gone on longer if Weiss and Ruby didn’t fall asleep in each other's arms. Summer picked them up and put them on Ruby’s bed. She then went to the master bedroom where Raven was on the bed wearing her bathrobe and cross look on her face. “Did you finally realize that it’s midnight and tonight was supposed to have-” Raven was then cut off by Summer plopping on the bed like a sack of concrete bricks, Summer said something but it was muffled by the pillows. “What was that?” Raven asked but she saw that it was kinda pointless when she heard snoring after she asked.
The next morning Weiss woke up to the sound of model trains chugging on their little tracks. Weiss sat up as she saw Ruby controlling a hornby hush hush with a passenger train. “Morning Weiss, did you sleep well?" Ruby asked as she stopped her train at a station. Weiss nods as she rubs her head, while her therapy with Summer was very reliving, she stayed up all night venting and crying about her problems, so she really is exhausted. As she rubbed her blind eye she noticed how her arm felt weird and when she looked at it, she felt tears roll down as she saw "Ruby rose" on her arm.
"Ruby, can I see your arms real quick?" Weiss asked as her feet touched the floorboards. Ruby asked why as she tilted her head. She looked down and saw "Weiss schnee" written on her arm. "Weiss, you're… you're my…" Ruby couldn't believe it, Weiss is her soulmate, her true soulmate. Ruby jumped on Weiss, snuggling every inch of her newfound soulmate. Weiss taps on the back of Ruby’s head, gaining her attention. Weiss then kissed Ruby on the lips, it was so soft, so gentle, the two wanted more but were afraid to hurt each other. But it was worth every second.
They know that they belong together as they broke apart. Staring each other dead in the eyes lovingly. Suddenly Ruby’s door slammed open. "Hey sis how's the- Oh… I see that umm…" The blonde single armed woman stared as she slowly closed the door.
