(Name) was surprised that a celestial being even had a birthday, let alone celebrated it. Until she met Simeon. He loved his birthday. He loved to do something new every year. She wondered how he could still find new things to do every year after he had been alive for so long. He told her usually it was because he liked to spend it with new people each year.
She smiled as he told her of all of his favorite birthday trips to the human realm in the past years. She noted that he seemed to like things that involved animals. Petting zoos were a favorite, second was aquariums.
She had been thinking hard about what to do for a birthday date for the two of them. Shockingly the other thing she never thought a celestial being would be open to, dating, he was readily willing to do when it came to her. She loved him already and he adored her.
So this year she would be happy to be the one to plan his birthday outing. She was excited to be able to spend it with him. She’d listened to those things he loved to do and was looking for things in the Devildom to do. And while they didn’t have petting zoos here...they did have a very large aquarium. She even asked Levi about it, he was her closest friend in the House of Lamentation. He told her it was a wonderful place to go. He liked to spend his afternoons not gaming there.
He even promised to do his best to keep his brothers (namely Mammon and Asmodeus) busy and out of her hair that day. The two of them had even enlisted Lucifer’s help on that goal.
She was also thankful the eldest demon brother liked her as well.
Neither knew what she could possibly see in Simeon, the angel, but she adored him. His soft brown skin and deep brown hair that was softer than a whisper. And those eyes...those odd sunny day eyes, as she liked to call them. A perfect blue with a slight gradient of a pale yellow. They were delightful. She adored them. She could lose herself staring into them for hours.
That was where she found herself now as they sat down outside of the Devildom Aquarium and ate some spicy cheese fries together. She giggled at the fact that they chose the most fatty and unhealthy...and perhaps un-angel like item from the concession stand. Simeon smiled at how happy she looked.
“You would think it was your birthday rather than mine with how happy and giggly you are today, (Name).” He commented.
(Name) laughed and shook her head. “I can’t help it. I feel touched that I’m the one you wanted to spend the day with.” She murmured.
“Well, you’re my girlfriend.” He said as though it was that simple.
Like she wasn’t still stunned that her boyfriend was a literal angel. She felt so special that someone as beautiful, as regal, as perfect as Simeon wanted her. Her, imperfect, human her!
He reached across the table and grasped her hand smiling. “I love you, (Name), I have never felt this kind of feeling before. And you know I would never lie to you.” He assured, he was able to read her so well.
“I know. I love you too, Simeon.” She said, “I’m glad you like my idea for the day. I remembered all the times you smiled so wide when talking about seeing all the animals on your past birthdays. And sadly the Devildom doesn’t have a petting zoo...or at least one Lucifer or Levi felt safe enough to send me to, with or without you.” She laughed, “So an aquarium was next on my list. And Levi gave this place a glowing review. It lasted half an hour.”
Simeon chuckled, “Luke doesn’t understand how you can stand to listen to him ramble on and on, as well as understand some of what he says.” He joked.
“Well, he just wants to be my friend. He doesn’t want me for any other reason.” She said, “So I got to know him...plus I knew so many gamers back in the human realm.”
Simeon grinned, “Are you ready to go in?” He asked.
(Name) nodded and stood up with him and after tossing their trash they headed inside. It felt like you were underwater from the second you stepped inside. Thick glass walls and ceiling surrounded by water and all the safe to be housed together underwater creatures which resided in the Devildom swam around in the deep blue water. Holding her angel’s hand (Name) they approached the first tank and began to try to spot every fish listed on the little placard standing in front of it.
Simeon actually knew what many of these fish and underwater creatures were, from books, but had never seen them in person before. Yet, (Name) didn’t know any of them. So it became a game between the couple, she would read the name of a fish and try to guess which one it was and he would tell her if she was right or wrong. If she was right her reward was a kiss. She couldn’t stop smiling.
They continued their game at the next three tanks before they sat down at the deepest end of the Devildom Aquarium which was actually underwater in the Devildom ocean to allow you to see nature as purely as possible without risking yourself. She held his hand tightly. She leaned her head on his shoulder as they watched the predators of the Devildom deep swim around. She had never seen sharks so brightly colored. One was neon purple with a neon orange underbelly!
She giggled and named it after Levi making her boyfriend laugh.
“So did you have fun today?” He asked her.
“I should be asking you that, it is your birthday.” She laughed.
He kissed her temple, “Of course I did. Every day I get to spend with you is fun. And we could have done anything today and I would have loved it.” He murmured and grasped her chin, tilting her head up so he could more easily kiss her lips tenderly while staring deep into her (e/c) eyes, “I simply adore you, (Name).”
“I love you so much, Simeon. Happy birthday.” She said and he kissed her once more.
This truly did feel like a celebration for her as well.
