    Summary

Soldiers clash and bodies fall harshly to the ground, the metal of their armor clanking loudly against jagged rocks yet the sound is soft and muffled, unheard over the war cries. Swords match each other in an unorganized, frantic dance, quick paced and without tact, they paint an ugly picture in red on innocent soil and bright green grass. Horses neigh and fight and trample lest they succumb to the pointy, deadly rain fall of the arrowmen.

It's a massacre; a battle for a golden throne in a rundown kingdom; it’s the fall of Hermitland.

A barn owl lands on a nearby branch and hoots a haunting hoot. It has brought news of a war and the fall of the Kingdom. It shares the arrival of a new king.

His round, brown ears flick. The Moor grows curious with him, the trees bending inwards to listen to the whispers. They ask him who the king is, they question his rule, his reign. He does not have the answer to any of their questions and neither does the messenger.
