They both knew it. Enji has never asked if Rei can see the color of his eyes or the exact shades of his flames, but he guesses, having looked at her face every day for the past twenty years, that such a thing has never happened. Same as him.He doesn’t feel like something is missing. This has been his life, his world, for forty-five years and counting. His last breath leaving him without ever having seen a trace of color in the sky wouldn’t be such a terrible thing—how is he supposed to miss something he’s never had?
Then, Keigo comes along.
