Chapter Text
This was all too much, first Mark, then Celine and Damien disappeared and now he shot and killed the detective and the district attorney. What started as a simple party with friends ended with death he caused.
William did this best to keep calm, putting this gun away under his coat replacing this weapon with a half red, half white and black line in the middle ball. He threw the ball near the floor beside himself, the ball opening up as a pink fairy creature comes out of it. The pink creature, best known as Clefairy, looks up at William, confused to see the man trembling and starts to worry.
William took a deep shaking breath, looking down at the Clefairy, "We need to find Damien and Celine, come on." He heads to the room down second floor hall where Damien and Celine last were while Clefairy was frozen staring at the detective's body.
Entering the room where his friend last where, Celine's magic room, he found it empty no trace of either of them. He didn't give up as he searched the room turning it upside down in every corner. Clefairy finally came into the room a few minutes later, terrified and shaken. She notices Damien's cane poked out from under the cloth covering the seer's table. William didn't notice it so Clefairy runs over grabbing his leg getting his attention. As he looked down at his pokemon, she pointed to the cane on the floor. He got down to the floor, grabbing the tablecloth, the colonel pulls it up to find two of familiar poke balls along with Damien's cane.
William gasps seeing the lonely red and white balls, grabbing them without another thought. He didn't think if it was a trap or trick, but it hurt him seeing these two pokeballs alone with the missing mayor's cane. He wondered if any pokemon were in them or if they were empty. He stood, holding the two balls along with the cane close before tossing them to the ground to release who was side.

(Present day)
The Iplier ego meeting was its usual chaos, egos bickering, not agreeing with ideas or getting projects done. Wilford stood at one side of the table, watching the chaos of the others disagreeing with his ideas while Darkiplier sat at the other end of the table quiet glaring at everyone.
Wilford gets upset, remote swinging in his right hand as he bellowed out, "Everyone shut up, shut up!" Everyone quiet down giving the standing head of the table their attention back. Wilford speaks up, "Consider it guys, the idea is genius for our show!"
Googles rolls his eyes grumbling, "Genius? It's plain idiotic and strays far from the plan. Where did get the idea? Sounds you been speaking to Bing about his unintelligent ideas."
"HEY, I GOT INTELLIGENT IDEAS!" A rotom appears on the flat screen tv behind Wilford, seeming to cause it to glitch. Dark frowns, growling slightly, "No pokemon at the meeting! How many times I have to repeat myself!"
The room get silent as grey creeps to cover almost half the meeting room Dark was sitting at. Bing runs into the room, knowing he had to save his Rotom from the boss, "Jake, come here!"
Jake, Bing's Rotom, comes from out of the television and flies to Bing's side. Dark glares at the two, "Out! You and your pokemon are not allowed in the meeting room. Pokemon are forbidden to be in here."
Bing glances at Dark, frowning back at him, "chill Bossman. Wilford, said it was okay as long as you don't notice." Dark angry cold stare grows hearing that, Wilford cursing himself now wishing Bing didn't blow it. Bing crosses his arms, "why are you against pokemon anyways? You're the big bad the hero needs the fight and yet you have no team? You're not even a threat!"
Dark stands up immediately as the shadows grab Bing and slam him to wall, pinning him. Eyes glow red with rage as Dark appears in front of Bing, grabbing the lower half of his face. "I don't need a pokemon to spread fear into the hero... there is no need to even have a pointless battle with useless creatures."
Bing trembled in fear looking at boss in fear, even Jake was frighted hiding under the table. Wilford coughs to clear the air, sensing the fear in a few of the egos in the meeting room, "Meeting adjourned, everyone go home early."
The ego stood, dashing out calmy the best they could leaving the meeting room except Dark, Bing and Wilford. Wilford walks over to Dark, touching his shoulder to try to unwind the situation. Dark gave a slight glace over the shoulder before disappearing into the shadows, letting Bing go. Bing falls to his knees and coughs, "DUDE WHAT'S HIS PROBLEM?!?"
Wilford helps Bing up, patting him down as he grins, "He's the villain, is there any other reason?" This made Bing look at him like he was nuts, "that's not a reason!"
The android pulls away, "come on Jake, let's go home." Rotom follows right behind him, leaving Wilford left alone. Wilford sighs, giving a few minutes before leaving the room to his studio to finish a set up for his next interview before heading home.
--
Wilford stood outside the manor at the end of the gated community him and Dark created when they started EGO Inc. The manor was more private than the other houses in the gated community, tree, bushes and vines behind the brick walls making the manor seem to be a dark and gloomy place from the outside. Wilford walked the rocky driveway to the path to the front door of the manor. He opened the door, no lights on inside. Typical, Dark must be brooding inside somewhere.
Wilford pulls out a couple of pokeball from his pocket, tossing them to the floor to summon two different ninetails from inside. One was a serious, grumpy looking kanto golden ninetales, while the second more soft, quiet alolan snowy ninetales. Wilford kneed down, petting both ninetails as he smiles softy happy to see them, "hello beautiful girls. Time to look for Damien."
The alolan ninetales took no time, making a soft bark before running off. Wilford and the kanto ninetales follow behind, going down the long halls to room with the bar and fireplace. There Dark was sitting in his black leather chair, half glass cup of gin in his tipping in one hand, eyes shut as he passed out. The alolan ninetales ran to Dark's side then jumps carefully into his lap. She snuggles into the lonely ego's lap startling him awake. Dark looks down at her sadly, "Indigo?"
He drops the glass, spilling whatever left in on the rug below the chair as his hand pets the ninetales. Wilford walks over, speaking softly, "Indigo misses you very much, Damien."
Dark looks up at Wilford sadly, hand still petting Indigo, "I know...but she can't be around me.... neither can Scarlett. Besides, they're your pokemon not mine."
Wilford sighs as Scarlett, the kanto ninetales, huffs next to him, "Damien, you know you can drop the villain act around me and the girls when were alone in the manor. I know you hate acting like you don't like pokemon but it isn't a good image for you and to your mental health."
"So? I made a promise to Celine, Will," Dark mumbles, "my crusade is one of revenge and blood. I can't stain any innocent pokemon with me."
Wilford crosses his arms, pouting, "Oh come on, what about team rocket? team galactic? Flare? They all villains who used pokemon for villainy. Get the right team, teach them a good villain act and be a spectacular villain. I'll even help you!" He smiles giving a thumbs up at Dark.
Dark shakes his head, "Will..."
"I'm not taking a no for an answer," Wilford interrupts before the other could continue.
Indigo gives Dark a sweet pleading look, breaking the walls of another no. Dark grumbles, "Fine, have it your way."
Wilford pumps his fist up, "YES, plan make Dark the evil team boss a go starting tomorrow!"
"Don't make me regret this Will..."
