Look Up

Summary:

A poetic retelling of the Reichenbach Fall phone call.

Notes:

This is a pantoum poem. It’s a poem that has a repeat of lines. Lines 2 and 4 in one stanza becomes lines 1 and 3 in the next stanza, and so on… This is my first attempt at one.
(also it’s purely dialogue, so if a line doesn’t end with quotation marks, it continues into the next line.
ex: “the quick brown fox jumped
“over the lazy dog.”)

Work Text:

“John?”

”Sherlock? Can you please explain what’s going on?” “Look up, and—”

”Oh god…Sherlock…

”I’m—I’m coming up to you,

”Sherlock. Can you please explain what’s going on?” “Look up and

”Keep your eyes fixed on me, John.”

”I’m…I’m coming up to you!”

”No! Stop.

”Keep your eyes fixed on me! John,

”This is my note.”

”No…stop.

”Sherlock, stop.”

This is my note.

”I’m saying goodbye, John.”

”Sherlock! Stop!

”You’re not…right?” “That’s what

”I’m saying. Goodbye, John.”

”You can’t,

”You’re not. Right?!” “That’s— What

I’m telling you— I am a liar.”

”You can’t

”Be serious, Sherlock.”

”I’m telling you! I am a liar!”

”It’s— Just

”Be serious. Sherlock,

”Come down, get off the ledge.”

”It’s just,

”I cant come down like that.”

”Come down! Get off the ledge!”

”John,

”I can’t come down… like that”

”Oh god. SHERLOCK!”
