"Get in the car nerd!"
"Coming Kachan!" He said tossing his bag in the car before climbing in. It was the end of the school year and graduation was tomorrow.
The decision had been impulsive and stupid and their parents and friends were going to be so fucking mad at them! But Izuku couldn't find it in himself to care.he had been surprised when Katsuki had even said it. The hood felt warm under their backs and the cool air a perfect temperature as summer peaked around the corner. They had been smoking a blunt together in the peace.
"Hey....wanna go somewhere?"
"Like where??" Izuku said as he put the cherry. The school year had been stressful with college and exams and everything with graduation.
"I don't know like, let's just get in a car and drive."
Izuku sat straight up and looked at his best friend. "Kacchan we can't. Auntie Mitsuki will loose her shit if we don't make it back in time to walk across the stage. My mom would be pissed. Your dad-.."
"Jesus Deku. Calm down. But what are they really gonna do?? Yell at us. Yeah that's all they'll do. They didn't pay for our shit we did. Technically we don't have to be there. We've already passed. It's a formality. I don't wanna go. Sit in a chair for an hour as they call our names, shake our hands, and throw our hats. It's gonna be boring. I'd rather go somewhere. See something. Just enjoy not thinking about college and anything else just being.....us."
Izuku opened his mouth to argue but how could he?? Kacchan was absolutely right. They don't have to be there. Plus this might be the last time they have a moment to breath. Soon they'll start packing for college and get busy with their lives and how many people stayed friends after highschool?? Their mom's had been fortunate to have but they were the only two. If Izuku could keep just one it be Katsuki. They had been best friends the moment they met as babies. Always together, whether it was fighting, laughing, singing or playing.
So his resolved died quickly as he looked at his best friend smiling. "Ok."
"Ok? Really? Fuck yeah. Ok go home and pack," he said pointing his finger towards his best friend, "I'll pick you up in an hour."
"Wait what do I pack for?"
Katsuki turned to face him while walking backwards towards the driver side smirking with his hands up in the air.
"I don't know deku. Pack for anything."
And so here they were on driving down the road right out of town windows down as the wind blew their hair singing along to the playlist Izuku had played. It was nostalgic and wonderful as it consisted songs from their favorite shows and anything they grew up listening to.
Katsuki starred at his best friend as he sang his Star Butterfly ballad. It's was a kids show but it was a good show. Sue him. Izuku's curls wrapping around his flushed cheeks as his freckles stood out darker because of the sun. It wasn't an earth shattering moment. It was simple and perfect and it was at this moment with the sun shining down on him. He wasn't wearing something flashy. Just a vneck navy blue t-shirt and khaki shorts and his ugly red shoes. Singing his heart out off cue because couldn't stay in fucking tune. It was in that moment pulling up to a red light he grabbed Deku by his cheeks and pulled him in to a soft kiss. One that didn't have hesitance or resistance and felt warm and inviting. Katsuki swiped his tongue asking for entrance and Izuku moaned letting him in. He felt his tongue explore inside as he sucked in every gasp that left the others mouth. Honking could be heard separating them. Red eyes stared into green ones. Izuku didn't look shocked. Didn't look disgusted or repulsed. He just smiled.
"I love you." He said. He'd fallen in love with his best friend and didn't even realize it. He couldn't see his life without Izuku in it. A constant star that shined brightly in his life.
Izuku smiled taking his hand in his.
"I love you too Kacchan." He giggled as the next song came on and didn't let go. It was the moment the two idiots realized they were in love. It wasn't jealousy or love at first sight. It was growing up together side by side and blooming into the people they were today.
