Work Text:
The light of the morning shined in through a small crack in the blinds, it was- unfortunately- time for Byleth to wake up. Even though it was a Saturday, if Byleth slept in, he wouldn’t be able to get anything done around their apartment. Yes, their apartment. Byleth thought of his sleepy lover whose muscular arms lay wrapped around them in bed. Byleth tried gently to move the arm that was holding down his waist, but all he ended up doing was disturbing Dimitri and moving his arm to now rest over his hips.
“B-Byleth?” Dimitri asked, his voice groggy.
“Good morning,” Byleth said, finally breaking free as Dimitri moved to rub the sleep from his eyes.
“Where are you going?” Dimitri asked, before letting out a yawn.
“I’m going to do the same thing I do every weekend,” Byleth spoke rolling over and moving to sit at the edge of the bed.
“Can’t we just sleep for a while longer?”
“Maybe tomorrow,” Byleth teased. “But if you get up with me, I’ll make you breakfast.”
Dimitri thought for a moment before finally giving in. “I suppose.”
“I’ll meet you in the kitchen,” Byleth said, a smile peaking at the corners of their mouth, before leaning over to place a gentle kiss on Dimitri’s soft lips.
Byleth got up looked at himself in the mirror, before shrugging, and making his way to the kitchen to get out everything he needed to make a simple breakfast; eggs, toast, and bacon. He began preparing the breakfast as he heard the shuffle of his lover’s feet coming from their bedroom, Byleth turned around to see Dimitri dressed in his usual robe, the top of his chest on display for Byleth to admire.
Dimitri made his way slowly over to the coffee machine, taking out two glasses and turning on the machine. Byleth turned back towards to stove, flipping over the bacon, before he felt two strong hands snake around his waist. The hands pulled him in close, he could feel himself pressed tightly against Dimitri’s chest. The warmth was comforting, and the lingering smell of yesterday’s cologne was almost intoxicating to Byleth.
Byleth tried his best to focus on cooking breakfast, but Dimitri soon started leaving a trail of kisses from his shoulder up to his neck. Byleth reached a hand back and felt Dimitri’s soft blond hair meet his hand, He pulled his lover’s head in closer as he moved his own for easier access. Dimitri took the message and began leaving small love bites on Byleth’s neck until a ding from the coffee machine interrupted the moment.
Dimitri sighed, going to get the coffee from the machine, as Byleth moved to plate up breakfast. The pair moved towards the small wooden table in unison, before settling in to enjoy their breakfast. Dimitri took a remote from nearby and turned on the TV across from them. The sound of the news droned on as they ate. Finally finished, Byleth took their plates and cups to the sink, as Dimitri slumped off in the direction of their bedroom. After rinsing off the dishes, Byleth headed for the bedroom to get dressed.
“Really?” Byleth asked as Dimitri had already made himself home back under the covers of the bed.
“I was cold.” Dimitri threw out an excuse. “Aren’t you cold as well?”
Byleth shook his head, knowing exactly what Dimitri was trying to do. “I’m not falling for your tricks again. If you’re cold maybe you should try getting dressed.”
“But wouldn’t you love for me to warm you up?” Dimitri held up the duvet to reveal his arms spread open, ready to embrace his lover. Not to mention, that he had removed his robe, and was once again lounging in nothing but his boxers. Byleth’s mind began to wonder has his eyes followed along each curve of Dimitri’s muscles. Honestly, how was one man so irresistible?
“I would… but I should really get some work done today.”
“At least grace me with a kiss before you leave me,” Dimitri’s voice clearly teasing.
“Well, I guess a kiss couldn’t hurt.” Byleth complied, but as he leaned in to kiss Dimitri, he felt himself be pulled into the bed as Dimitri’s arm has successfully grabbed his waist. Before he could put up a protest, Dimitri was already kissing him; deeply and longingly. Byleth couldn’t help but melt into the kiss and the warm, soft touch of his other half. His hand instinctively moving to hold Dimitri’s face, the small growth of hair pricked at Byleth’s fingers and they smiled into the kiss. Finally giving into the reality that they wouldn’t be getting any work done today.
“See, isn’t this much better than work?”
Byleth laughed before drawing Dimitri into another kiss. “Do you even have to ask?”
