Tell Me I Am Good Enough

Summary:

Tubbo is the president, a whole country is resting on his shoulders. How is a teenager meant t handle the pressure? How is he meant to know that the very people he works with and trusts want him gone?

Notes:

Title from Curses by The Crane Wives!

This fic covers heavy topics such as; Suicide, Starvation, Self Sabotage, Attempted Murder, Amputation. If there is anything that I have missed please tell me in the comments!

This is very loosely based on RockyPi's prompt 26 "Tubbo :(" I sort of went wild with it but it was fun to write!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Tubbo sat at the President’s desk, paperwork laid haphazardly in front of him. His clothes creased and filthy, having no time to change, his hair matted and greasy, his horns and floppy ears making the mess stand out more, his eyes dull and borderline lifeless. Tubbo stared down at a piece of paperwork, the words floated around the page and blurred into each other. The teen groaned and tried to brute force his way through his work, not wanting to anger his cabinet members again due to him being slow.

Tubbo dropped the pen he was holding and held his face in them, biting his tongue when he felt tears swell. He needed a break and, as much as he doesn’t want to, he takes one. Standing from his chair, Tubbo stretched each of his joints cracking and popping, the teenage president left his office and walked through New L’Manberg and through the Greater SMP, spaced out throughout the whole walk just letting his legs guide him. The sudden heat of the Nether shot him out of his thoughts, his already stuffy suit now felt suffocating, he shed his blazer as he continued to walk.

Walking across a single, block-wide, log bridge, Tubbo couldn’t care for the ghast crying nearby, couldn’t care about the piglins patrolling close to the bridge. He had a destination that his body wanted to go to and nothing would stop it, not even the threat of lava. Tubbo came across a lone Nether portal at the end of the bridge, nearly hidden from view in the small crevice that it stood in, almost ashamed that it even exists. He walked up the cobblestone stairs before stepping through and being teleported back into the overworld.

An old, rotting Christmas tree stood next to him. Step after step showed a war zone and not a temporary exile. Holes dotted the landscape and not a single animal in sight, not even the fish swimming in the ocean. A single tent stood, the fabric hole filled and fraying at the edges. A wooden wall, well what once was a wall, contained most damage within itself. Holes carved deep, the body of a mooshroom lay lifeless at the bottom, a house destroyed beyond use sat at the back, cowering. Tubbo looked up, a tall tower hastily made and with only one clear use in mind. His heart sank and he did the only thing he could think of, Tubbo screamed, shouted, begged that Tommy was near.

But Tommy wasn’t close, he was walking into a house in a freezing tundra. Into the warmth of his brother’s home and back into the family. But Tubbo didn’t know that, all he knew was that Tommy is dead, that his family, his tribe, will never want to see him again and that this all was his own fault. The teen’s knees buckled and he fell to the ground, sobbing in the mud, time continued to move even as Tubbo cried out for his brother, he cried for his best friend, though he doubts that the blonde would call him a best friend or a brother. He didn’t know how long he stayed on the ground crying but at some point, he had run out of tears and the moon was high in the sky.

Tubbo made his way back through the Nether, through the Greater SMP and back into New L’Manberg. He was suddenly stopped, someone stood in front of Tubbo, blocking his way to his office, looking up Tubbo saw his cabinet member, Quackity and Fundy looked at the young president with concern before the duck hybrid broke the silence, “Tubbo, wha-what happened?” Once the words left his mouth, Tubbo broke down again. The cabinet quickly moved into the White House.

Fundy sat Tubbo down on a chair and kept rubbing his shoulder, trying to calm down the teen enough for him to explain what happened. Tubbo kept sucking in breathes before he was able to talk, “Tom-Tommy’s dead.” Fundy stopped rubbing Tubbo’s shoulder and moved his hand away, Quackity stared at the shaking teen, neither adult said anything and just watched as Tubbo got up and left the room. They looked at each other, having a silent conversation before nodding and leaving the room and heading back to their separate offices, both with their own plans for power.

Tubbo walked into his office and stared at the mess, he needed to get work done, he can't fail the last thing that connected him to two of his, now dead, brothers. He dragged himself towards his desk, sat down and started writing and signing and crying. His pen never stopped moving, the papers soon became organised and Tubbo sat with his head on the desk, everything from today finally catching up with him as exhaustion pulled at him until he finally slept.

Days passed and Tubbo’s paperwork never seemed to end, whenever he made progress he’d find more sitting on his desk after he had taken a break. Slowly, his breaks started to become shorter and shorter until he wouldn’t take one anymore, he would spend every moment at his desk and he’d only sleep when his paperwork was done for the day or when he would pass out. He’d only eat when Fundy or Quackity would bring him food, Tubbo wouldn’t notice the small portions that Fundy gave him or how Quackity would make small jabs about Tubbo whenever he was in the president’s office.

Tubbo was too trapped in his own thoughts to notice anything, he didn't notice the weights on his shoulders nor how his suit began to swamp his form. He didn’t notice when people began leaving New L’Manberg, he only noticed the paperwork and how it would grow and grow with no end in sight. He had to constantly stop himself from asking for help from Fundy or Quackity, if you have this much then they must be drowning in it,, of course, his cabinet was not, they spent most of their time just waiting for the last straw to be placed on the teen’s shoulders and for him to crumble. And so Tubbo sat, writing as his body withered away and the very people that swore they would help him turned their backs and waited for him to… disappear.

Tubbo sat at his desk, Fundy had just given him some food, a quarter of a stake and nothing else but the sight of it made his stomach churn. He stares at the food trying to will himself to eat but a small voice whispers to him, telling him he doesn’t deserve it and that someone else would deserve it more. He doesn’t disagree. After staring at the stake, Tubbo stands, he needs his family, he needs his tribe. He walked even though every small movement sent pins and needles to that area, even though when he walked or stood too fast black painted his vision. He can't keep doing this. He can only hope that his family will still love him even if he's the reason they're one family member down.

He walked through the Overworld to Techno's house, he doesn’t know the way through the Nether and he doubts he'd make it through in one piece. So he started to walk until he reached the docks, he looked around for a few seconds before he saw a lone boat tied up. He untied the boat and hopped in before he started rowing. Out in the middle of an ocean, Tubbo takes a break, his arms screaming in pain and the waves do nothing to keep Tubbo’s vision clear but he can’t stop, he needs his family. So he continues to row and slowly the air grows colder, causing the teen to shiver and realize that his shirt and trousers are soaked.

A snow-covered shore finally showed itself and Tubbo let out a sigh, he’ll be able to see his family and, hopefully, get some sleep. The boat hit land, Tubbo hopped out and dragged the boat further on land before he began his walk through the heavy snow. He was shaking and tried to warm himself up by hugging himself but that could only do so much. He trudged through the snow as two cabins appeared between the trees, he smiled when he noticed the light in the further away cabin. The teenager tried to run but he fell face-first into the snow, he shakily pushed himself back up and just walked.

The cabins were right in front of him and he could hear people talking inside. Tubbo walked up the stairs and looked inside a window when he stopped smiling and stopped breathing. Inside sat Phil, Techno, Ghostbur and a living Tommy all at a table laughing and eating dinner. Tubbo stared through the window before leaving with tears in his eyes, Tommy was alive but was ready to kill himself. All Tubbo thought about as he made his way back to New L’Manberg was how happy his family were, he wouldn't be a part of the tribe anymore, they're not his tribe. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he got back into the boat, he cried out while in the middle of the ocean where no one else would hear, he locked away his feelings when he made it back to the docks.

The trip back felt faster as Tubbo couldn’t stop how his thoughts ran rampant, he tied the boat back to the docks and started the walk back to his office. Tubbo didn’t see another person in New L’Manberg and only just realized how empty and dead the country looked, he failed yet another thing, walked it to its death without knowing it. He started to think about his cabinet, the small things he simply didn’t notice started to make more sense, all the things Quackity would say like how he’d say that Tubbo has been taking his time on some paperwork, it was just him being nice and asking Tubbo to stop being lazy and do his work. The small portions of food that Fundy would give him was a punishment for being such a bad president, friend, brother, person. It made sense, he deserves it.

Tubbo walked into the white house, there was no noise in the building, they finally had given up on you. He made his way into his office, nothing was moved even the stake still sat on his desk but now a fly had claimed the meat, that’s fine, Tubbo doubts he could eat it anyway. He continued to stare at the stake before taking it into the kitchen and cleaning his plate before going back into his office and working, it was all he could do.

Tubbo began to read and sign the paperwork. Unaware of the world around him, he didn’t notice when day turned to night then turned to morning, he didn’t notice that Quackity and Fundy no longer gave him food or even spend any amount of time in his office. Tubbo was wasting away, his suit no longer fit and he would be shivering no matter the temperature, you deserve this, after all, you did ruin any chance of having a family.

The only times Tubbo would sleep would be when he passed out and he never stayed asleep for long, always less than two hours every other day or so. It was during one of his ‘naps’ that someone walked into his office, Tubbo stirred when he heard his name being called, he opened his eyes and looked at the person, there, standing in the middle of Tubbo’s office was none other than Phil, his concern lacing his features, “Tubbo, are-are you ok?” the adult asked slowly, either mindful of Tubbo’s half-asleep mind or simply looking for the right words.

“Mhm,” Tubbo rubbed his eyes, sat up straight in his chair and tried to smile at Phil but he could tell that the blonde could see right through it. “How,” Tubbo yawned and did his best to keep his eyes open, the nap can wait, you don’t want to be even more of a disappointment, do you? “How can I help you, Phil?”

The avian looked around the office, the papers thrown around the room and laying on the floor. He looked at Tubbo before walking closer to the horned teen, “Tubbo, were you asleep when I came in?” The teen flushed red and looked down, He knows, of course, he would know, this is what you deserve, “When was the last time you slept? In a bed and a proper sleep?”

Tubbo kept his head down, shame and humiliation flooded him, he can’t remember the last time he had seen a bed, let alone slept in one so Tubbo settled with mumbling his response, “…I don’t know…” Tubbo hoped that Phil would just leave and not look back but Phil didn’t do that, the father walked around the desk and pulled Tubbo into a hug but Tubbo just pulled away, “…don’t deserve it…” The blonde moved away from Tubbo, not speaking and the horned teen was fine with that, he didn't need to see how disappointed his father Phil looked.

Tubbo didn’t look at the avian, he kept his eyes trained on his desk with his hands sitting on his lap, "What do you mean?" Phil asked but Tubbo just shook his head, "Tubbo, please answer me," Phil pleaded and the teen went to speak but the door swung open. Both Quackity and Fundy stood in the doorway looking at the avian and goat.

"Phil!" Quackity shouted, he was smiling but even to Tubbo it looked forced, "What a surprise. Um… how can we help you, Phil?" Quackity asked, doing his best to appear both casual and formal. Fundy nodded along with the duck hybrid, not looking at Phil's face but instead he looked at the wall behind the oldest.

"I came to visit Tubbo." Phil spoke and placed a gentle hand on Tubbo’s shoulder, "I haven't heard from him in a while and came to make sure that everything was all right." Phil smiled at the two in the doorway, "Am I not allowed to see my son?" Phil asked, completely unaware of the shocked expression on Tubbo's face. he's only saying that to get Quackity and Fundy to leave, why would he want you as a son? The goat found himself at a loss, the voice made sense but what would Phil want with him? Has he come to get revenge? To finally put out of his misery like he's some sick dog?

The three adults continued to talk as Tubbo spiralled, the room began to spin and Tubbo did everything he could to keep his eyes open but everything came to a screeching halt as Tubbo’s head hit the desk with a thud. The president was out cold. Phil turned around and rushed to check on Tubbo, the other adults moved into the room as Phill lifted Tubbo’s head to see a bright red mark on his forehead.

"We'll take care of Tubbo, Phil." Fundy spoke, "You can head home. He’ll probably not be available for a few days, we’ll message you when he’s better." Fundy walked up to the blonde, put his hand on his back and started to push the father out of the office, making sure that the door to the office was closed. Leaving Quackity and a passed out Tubbo alone. Quackity made his way towards the teen, looking down at him before moving the chair back, picking Tubbo up and laying him on the floor before closing the window, drawing the curtains before leaving and locking the door behind him, leaving Tubbo alone, on the floor and passed out.

Quackity waited outside the office, his plan has just been thrown out of the window, he can’t just wait for Tubbo to give up anymore, he needs to get his hands dirty now. The duck took out his communicator and scrolled through his messages before sending a message to Punz that simply read, ‘Need to use that deal now, meet at Community house ASAP.’ Once he sent the message, Quackity left, tucking his communicator into his pocket and left the white house, walking along the bridges and paths heading towards the first house.

Fundy made sure to escort Phil to the community house and wishes him well before making his way back to the white house. He pulls out his communicator and messages Dream as he walks through the white house doors, ‘Could you help with something? I’ll pay you back.’ The fox sat in his office, everything was neat and tidy, not a piece of paper out of place and no work on his desk as he waited for Dream’s reply. After a few minutes, Dream responded, ‘What do you need and what am I getting from this?’ Fundy sat up straight and types out his reply, ‘meet me in my office and I’ll do whatever you need.’

Phil walked through the Nether, all he could think of was Tubbo, how thin and sickly he looked, how exhausted he was and what he said, he didn’t remember the last time he slept and that he doesn’t deserve to be hugged. The father was determined more than ever to get his son back and he’s certain that his other sons will want to help as well. He sped up, not knowing how long he may have to save his son, he pulled out his communicator and messaged two of his living sons and explained what he saw. The replies were instant and the sons got ready.

As the adults went along with their plans, Tubbo lay on the cold hardwood floor of his office. His shivering only got worse but he didn’t wake nor move to warm himself up, he looked lifeless in the middle of the floor as he took shallow breaths. If anyone were to walk into the office they’d most likely assume Tubbo was dead, he wouldn’t respawn so his body would just stay after death until it would rot away.

Only one plan could work, either Tubbo dies or he lives and his chances of living are slim but didn’t know this as he was carried out of the white house. Even with Netherite armour digging into his stomach the teen still didn’t wake. He only stirred when he was thrown onto the cold, hard ground, small rocks and stones dug into his back as he slowly opened his eyes. Everything was blurring together and he groaned, his ears were ringing but he could hear people talking, his vision slowly cleared and the ringing quietened down. Tubbo saw two men standing over him, both in armour, one in unenchanted diamond and the other in enchanted netherite. The diamond clade man was Quackity and the netherite wearing man had a white hoodie, Punz. Punz was talking to Quackity, neither man looking at the teen, “Ok, so I just have to kill him and have it not linked to you?” Punz asked, resting his netherite axe on his shoulder and Quackity nodded along.

“That’s it.” Quackity agreed before looking at the prone teen ready to speak again but stopped when he saw that Tubbo was awake, “Better hurry up, sleeping beauty has finally joined us.” The duck laughed, Punz looked over at Tubbo and smiled at his confused expression. Punz moved closer to the teen and raised his axe off on his shoulder, letting it touch the rough ground. Tubbo stared up, blinking away the dark spots that threatened to drag him back into its peaceful darkness but he can’t, Punz was standing above him ready to kill him, this is what you deserve, you should thank Punz for doing this since you’re wasting his time on you. Tubbo didn’t listen, he was scared. He just wanted his tribe with him.

Punz raises his axe, holding it with both of his hands, Quackity watches from the side, a shark tooth grin plastered on his face. All Tubbo could hear was his heartbeat and breathing as he stared into Punz’s eyes, hoping that the blonde would find some sort of mercy but there was none. Desperation wrapped around Tubbo brain as he tried to move but his whole body felt like they were made of lead, forcing him to stay on the ground. A sob ripped its way out of Tubbo’s throat, he’s a dead man and he won’t even get to apologize and say goodbye to his family. Tubbo shut his eyes as Punz swung his axe down, one swing won’t kill even with Tubbo’s current state and one swing didn’t kill, Tubbo let out a scream as the axe was embedded in his right shoulder, the tears wouldn’t stop and neither would his crying, begging and screaming, it only got louder when Punz ripped the axe out of his shoulder.

“Holy shit!” Quackity shouted as he stared at where the axe just was, laying limply was Tubbo’s arm, completely severed from him and when Tubbo noticed he started gagging and heaving at the sight. “Wasn’t expecting that, god, how is he still awake?” Qauckity looked up at Punz and asked, the blonde simply shrugged and got ready to kill Tubbo but stopped before he could swing, both adults heard the sound of footsteps running closer, “Who the fuck?” Quackity muttered before turning back to Punz and speaking, “Hurry up and kill him, I’m leaving.” The duck rushed to run up the stairs but stopped on the wooden bridge as Phil stood between him and his freedom, his sword drawn and pointed it right at Quackity.

“Get back down the stairs.” Phil demanded and Quackity nodded, put his hands up and started to walk down the stairs. As the two made their way down they saw Technoblade and Tommy both kneeling next to a still conscious Tubbo and Ghostbur floating nearby offering Blue to Tommy, Techno was talking to Tubbo and the teen would respond as well as someone who is in shock and is losing a lot of blood and fast. Punz was closing an enderchest before mining it and speaking to Techno, “Pleasure doing business with you.” Techno only grunted as he wrapped Tubbo’s shoulder with bandages and healing potions, Punz nodded and started to walk away, no one stopped him.

Phil grabbed the back of Quackity’s shirt, “How is he?” Phil asked his sons, Tommy didn’t answer, he just held Tubbo’s now only hand and Techno just made a noncommittal sound as he tied to separate the teens for a second so he could pick up the goat boy. After a bit of manoeuvring, Techno managed to pick Tubbo up, Tommy was still holding his hand and Ghostbur kept close to Tommy, “So, Quackity, what the fuck did you do?” Phil asked, his tone was sweet but to almost everyone else, they could hear the hatred and anger in the father’s voice.

“I- uh…how…how about we settle this like adults?” Quackity nervously laughed but quickly stopped laughing when everyone looked at him, minus Tubbo, who just looked confused and was asking what was happening, who was there and where he was, and Ghostbur who was just giving everyone present some Blue. Nobody told him as their focuses were elsewhere.

“Take Tubbo home.” Phil told his sons and could see Tommy looking between Tubbo and Quackity before sighing and walking with Techno. Once his sons were far enough away, Phil spoke, “You’re not getting away with this, You’re going to pay for what you did to Tubbo.” The avian threatened and Quackity shivered. “Be grateful that Techno isn’t here, he can be a lot crueller than me.”

As Phil and Quackity stayed in Pogtopia, Techno and Tommy quickly ran through the forest, Ghostbur floating along with his living brothers, neither could answer any of Tubbo’s questions. The horned teen kept talking, “Where we going?” Tubbo asked and tried to move his right arm and whined when he couldn’t move it, he turned his head towards Tommy, “Can’t move arm, think it’s stuck.” Tommy looked away and just squeezes Tubbo’s hand and all the teenage president could think about was how weird everything was.

“Y-Yeah Bigman, it’s…Techno carrying you right now so… so it’s just stuck.” Tommy tried to reassure Tubbo but Techno could tell he was trying to calm himself down and Techno wasn’t going to be the one to stop him, “You’re probably tired, try and take a nap, yeah?” Tubbo groaned but still tucked his head into Techno’s neck before swiftly falling asleep but much to Tommy’s dismay, he lets go of the blonde’s hand to hold onto the piglin hybrid.

“You’ll be able to hold his hand when we’re safe.” Techno speaks and Tommy erupts into a fit of swears and shouting but quickly stops when Tubbo shifts slightly, “Come on, don’t want anyone stopping us before we can get Tubbo home.” Tommy nodded and the trio began to pick up speed as they walked around New L’Manberg, Tommy was on watch out while Techno keeps Tubbo close. As careful as they were, nothing goes to plan as Dream and Fundy both walk out of the white house, the fox hybrid’s tail swinging wildly with anxiety while Dream seemed calm and collected, “Move, now.” Techno demanded and Tommy followed right behind him until a shout sounded out.

“Over there!” The shouting started and both brothers begin to run, adrenaline pumping through their veins as they ran. Once passed the community house, Tubbo began to stir and looked around, everything was moving too fast for him to fully take in his surroundings, people were shouting and then the woosh of a portal caught his ears. The three brothers were blasted with the scolding heat of the Nether but they couldn’t stop to adjust, they ran even as the shouts started again.

The cobblestone path turned into obsidian and Techno passed Tubbo to Tommy, “Get home and wait.” Techno demand, Tommy nodded and ran through the portal at the end of the obsidian path, Ghostbur close behind. Techno threw an ender pearl as far as he could towards where he had just come from before shouting, “You’re not getting them!” The piglin ready his axe and shield as Fundy and Dream turned around and both readied themselves to fight.

Tommy struggled to carry Tubbo who was now groaning and whining in pain, “It’s alright Bigman, we’re almost home.” Tommy spoke, doing his best to keep the fear and worry out of his voice and it seemed to work as Tubbo quietened down. Tommy walked through the thick snow and Tubbo started shivering again, seeing that, the blonde picked up his pace, trying to run through the snow. When Tommy saw the two cabins he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, “Hold on Tubs, we’re almost home.”

“H-home?” Tubbo asked, looking around before squirming to get out of Tommy’s hold. “L’Manberg’s home, they don’t want me.” His voice was quiet and managed to get Tommy to let go, he tried to catch himself with his hands but he landed on his right shoulder and let out a gasp of pain. He looked at his shoulder, his lack of an arm and the bandages before looking back at Tommy, “T-Tommy? What-where…” Tubbo couldn’t finish his sentence, he tried to think back on what happened. He was working then he woke up to Phil, Quackity and Fundy then came into his office and talked to Phil then nothing. Tubbo tried to stand up but had to stop due to the sudden lightheadedness, everything was spinning, he could hear Tommy talking.

“Now's not the time to do this.” Tommy glanced back to the Nether portal before moving to pick up Tubbo, “You need to get healed.” Tubbo didn’t respond just stared at his shoulder as Tommy picked him up. The brothers stayed in silence, one teen stays quiet out of worry, the other out of confusion but Tommy also listens out in case anyone has made it through the portal and luckily for both of them, no one came through.

Tommy carried Tubbo towards the cabins speedily as Tubbo’s shivering only got worse. The blonde hurried up the stairs of Techno’s house, clumsily opened the door and rushed to place Tubbo next to the fireplace. He threw some wood into the fireplace and went to light it, after a few tries the fire starts. Tommy moves around the room, his communicator in hand and waits for Phil or Techn to message him, Tubbo sits right in front of the fire, watching as it dances and sways to an imaginary song.

At some point two things happened at once, Tommy got a message from Phil telling him that he and Techno are on their way and Tubbo laid down by the fire and fell asleep. Tommy replied, telling his dad about what had happened when he and Tubbo went through the portal and that Tubbo is now warming up by a fire. Tommy put his communicator away and moved closer to Tubbo, he can’t tear his eyes away from the goat boy’s right shoulder, if they had been just a minute faster they wouldn’t have had to hear Tubbo screaming, they wouldn’t have to see Tubbo’s arm completely separated from his body.

The blonde shook his head and walked towards some chests, he rummaged around in them, not caring for the piglin’s organised chests. He finally pulled out a thick blanket, walked back to Tubbo and draped the blanket over him before pacing around the cabin waiting for Phil and Techno to arrive. Ghostbur had disappeared at some point but Tommy didn’t notice just pacing until the sound of people talking could be heard from outside, two familiar voices simply talking, one filled with clear worry and the other sounding apathetic but Tommy could hear the worry lacing their every word.

Tommy rushed to the door, opening it and gesturing for Phil and Techno to come in and to be quiet. The father and brother walk in, both seeing Tubbo curled up by the fireplace with a blanket. Phil slowly walked up to the sleeping teen, crouched down and gently touched Tubbo’s cheek, his heart-melting when Tubbo leaned into the touch, the older blonde man’s shoulders shook as he stared at Tubbo bright red and wet face. Techno approached and placed a hand on Phil’s shoulder and gestures to the couch, Phil nods and carefully picks Tubbo up and carries him to the couch, letting him sleep comfortably.

Tubbo groaned, slowly stirring from his sleep which was the most comfortable one he can remember having for a long time. Tubbo blinked his eyes open, rubbing away the sleep, well, he tried to. His eyes shot open and looked at his right arm, all that was there was a bandaged shoulder, he desperately thought back on how this happened, on what happened to his arm, all he got was more panicked. He soon looked around him, he wasn’t in New L’Manberg, he was in someone’s home, tears blurred his vision and fear clouded his thoughts.

Tubbo covers his mouth to keep his breathing quiet as he listens out for any noise and he could hear people talking. Three voices, familiar, his tribe’s voices, then it hit him, he’s in Techno’s cabin, that only confused him more. He didn’t move, instincts fighting against themselves, he wants his tribe but why would they want him unless they want revenge, so Tubbo just froze and lay under the thick blanket.

His ears flicked and twitched as the voices continued to talk about Quackity, Fundy, Punz and Dream, Tubbo’s confusion only got worse, why were they talking about Quackity and Fundy? They are the only people who would spend any time with Tubbo. Soon, Tubbo could hear the conversation shift to him, “He’s gonna have to relearn so much now.” Technoblade spoke, he was the clearest for Tubbo to hear, “It’ll take a while for him to get better as well.”

The conversation grew quiet, either they had stopped talking entirely or they had just started to talk quietly. Tubbo's fears never settled or calmed down, only made worse as he knows the conversation is still on him but he can’t hear what they’re saying, soon the exhaustion dragged him back into a dreamless sleep while his family checked on him just minutes later. The family knew that recovery would be difficult, that they’ll have to show Tubbo that they do want him around but the family will take each day at a time to help Tubbo, to show that they want him to be happy and healthy again.

Notes:

Thank you for reading! If you couldn't tell, I forgot to actually write Ghostbur for most of the fic and only added him very last minute, sorry if it seems off. Also, it's my birthday when I'm posting this! At least, it is in my time zone!
