The door rattled, keys stringing into the lock as it clicked open, the hinges whining muffled as it swung slightly. A soft drop indicated Yunlong plotting the keys by the drawer, his feet pressing against each other as he rid his soles of his shoes, socks pressing on the floor with a ginger manner. The light in the kitchen was switched on, illuminating the small room as a shadow moved through it, and Yunlong felt the tug of a small smile twitch at the corner of his lips.
“Gazi,” he called, and he walked forward as he watched the silhouette pause and move towards the entry of the kitchen, where Yunlong lingered near. “Dalong,” grinned Ayunga, holding a plate of food as he leaned against the wall, and Yunlong watched him as he made his way into the kitchen with him. His hair scruffy by his shoulders, the black suit of gems shimmering on his body, the clothes hanging loosely on his frame, and he wore a smile that presented itself to Ayunga as the brightest light of the world. Ayunga in turn was wearing his own comfortable wear, pajamas warm and holding on to his embrace. “Late night snack?” offered Yunlong, hooking his slender fingers around Ayunga’s free wrist.
Ayunga smiled at him, lips curving in a gentle gesture, eyes brightening, and he brought the plate down to the table by their side. “Maybe?” he answered, his hand wandering to where a shiver of golden glitter rested in Yunlong’s hair, fingers tangling itself into the strands of dark reeds. Yunlong leaned into the touch, resting his forehead against Ayunga’s, the bridges of their noses pressing. His hand dropped Ayunga’s wrist, lifting the tips of his fingers to trace the latter’s jawline. His pinky fell to touch his chin, pulling him closer as their lips met, eyes closing with the breeze as the golden glitter piece fell from his hair.
The glitter was edged at its sides, hexagonal in its appearance, and filtered itself in the air as it landed on the plate where Ayunga’s food was. Their lips hooked again, head turning to its side, Ayunga reeling Yunlong’s head in closer with his grip by his neck. They stumbled together, Ayunga stepping backwards, and their teeth touched as they smiled.
Yunlong pulled away, arm dropping to hold Ayunga’s waist as he pulled him up, pressing his other hand to hold where the elder’s grip at his neck was. “Want to finish your food first?”
Ayunga looked past him, his smile widening as he saw the trace of the golden sliver, and turned to face Yunlong full on his face. “Maybe later, golden boy.”
His back was pressed against the table, the edge of the wooden furniture digging into the part of Yunlong’s arm still holding him tight, and pressed him into a tender kiss. The golden glitter piece blitzed itself, sinking even deeper into the plate of food. It showed its shine, the light bouncing off it enough to colour the scene displayed.
A rubber taste was still in the plastic.
