Work Text:
The final dregs of the purple and pink hues turn into a breathtaking blue that get darker and darker as the sun sets down, the moon is visible as nothing more than a small speck of white as it hides behind the curtain of clouds. It's beautiful, the transition between day and night, seeing the stars become more visible as it gets dark. Jeonghan rests his head on Mingyu's shoulder, his cold fingers looping through Mingyu's warmer ones. He rubs his thumb on the back of the other's hand in soothing circles, tilting his head to get in a more comfortable position, his eyes closed. He feels the warm press of Mingyu's lips on the back of his hand as places a sweet kiss on it, a sigh of content leaving his lips, ah he's happy. He leans up to place a kiss on the side of his neck, snuggling up to him as the other puts an arm around him to pull him closer.
He hears the sound of footsteps shuffling behind them and then a loud clap, presumably the sound of the slate.
"And CUT!" The director's voice booms through the apartment set, and Jeonghan leans back in his place, a sigh of contentment leaving his lips after a particularly long day. Mingyu stands up and puts out a hand for him to help him up. And he knows the younger man shares his sentiment when he sees the smile on his face mirroring his own. Happy with finishing yet another project with minimal hitches. They turn around and bow down thanking everyone for their hard work.
It's the last day of the shoot. They've spent the last six months busting their asses off and working hard, pouring their blood, sweat and tears into this show making sure everything was as perfect as it could be. Now Jeonghan just wanted to go home and have a proper good night's sleep.
When the idea for the show was first pitched to him he knew then and there that he wanted to be a part of the project. And when Sana, his manager, actually handed him the script he just fell in love more than he was. It was a normal slice of life drama but the way he felt a deep connection with his character was what made it all the more special for him. Knowing that Mingyu was going to be his co-star was an added bonus. And of course this being his first show where he plays a gay character made him just anxious enough for how it would be recieved by the audience. He was not ashamed of his own sexuality but he also believed that he was not obligated to let other people know whether he liked men or women or both or none, he would let his fans know when he wanted to, when he was comfortable enough. He was happy that his agency supported him in his decision.
All of the crew members along with the cast take a group photo to commemorate the last day of shooting. They were the only two actors on the set, the last scenes with everyone else having been shot a while ago. Jeonghan starts walking towards his changing room when they are done with everything and the staff starts packing things, wanting to be in his comfortable clothes as soon as possible when Mingyu comes up to him, his eyes having that innocent glint when he wants something from him.
"Hyung, some of us were thinking of going for dinner. You wanna join?" His eyes go round and his voice is laced with expectation.
"I'm sorry Mingoo, not today. We'll go to lunch next time or dinner, whenever you want. It'll be my treat, I promise." He feels bad when the younger pouts and can literally see his metaphorical dog ears drooping, but then not so much when he lightens up in the next moment, happy at the prospect of free food from him. He's such a puppy.
He gives Mingyu one last hug before the younger boy reminds him of his promise once again as he leaves the room to get changed. He's lucky that he's one of his good friends.
He has just finished changing when Sana comes up to him with two bouquets, setting one on the dressing table and placing the other one in his hand.
"Congratulations on finishing up. The other one is from all of us, I'll deliver the others to your apartment and this one is from loverboy who's currently waiting for you in the parking lot." The smile on her face is teasing and Jeonghan wants to make a quip at her about her own girlfriend that makes her smile like a fool but he's not that much better if the stupid smile on his face is anything to go by whenever his boyfriend is so much as mentioned.
Jeonghan just takes a whiff from the bouquet, taking in the pleasing scent of his favorite flowers. His exhaustion turns into anticipation at the thought of meeting the love of his life whom he hasn't seen much because of both of their hectic schedules. Jeonghan being busy with the shooting and Seungcheol with his mini tour.
"You don't have any schedules for the next whole week so enjoy the short break." Sana ends her sentence with a wink that was really not needed. Anyway she always knew what he needed and he loved her for that. They had an unconventional artist-manager relationship but they worked out pretty well.
Jeonghan takes his stuff and rushes to get out, only barely catching on to what Sana screams behind him.
"Don't have too much fun, I swear to god I'll kill you if you don't come back in one piece." And Jeonghan figures that wasting time and retracing his steps to give her the middle finger was worth the look of fake affront on her face as she repeats the action right back at him.
Jeonghan nearly trips on his feet walking towards the parking lot when he sees him. And there he is standing there in all his glory, leaning on the car door scrolling away on his phone. He looks so cuddly like this, in his favorite fleece jacket, the one that Jeonghan got him as a birthday gift. The turtleneck he's wearing underneath covers up most of his tattoos that start from his chest and crawl up towards his neck. He looks so, so handsome like this and Jeonghan loves him. As if he can feel Jeonghan's gaze burning holes in him, he suddenly looks up and stands a bit straighter, pocketing his phone when he sees him approaching. His eyes curve into tiny crescents and Jeonghan can see his cheeks bunching up even underneath the mask he's wearing.
Jeonghan rushes towards him, his bag dropping on the ground as he nearly tackles the older man into a crushing hug that punches the air out of both their lungs and Seungcheol only lets out a tiny oof that's muffled into the soft material of his t-shirt. The latter's arms loop around his waist tightly locking him in place as he lifts him up his feet barely touching the floor as his own hands wound around his neck in a vice-like grip. And Jeonghan pulls back from the embrace just a little to stare at him, eyes practically dripping with love as he pulls down the rapper's mask with one hand.
His eyes close on their own accord as Seungcheol leans down to press their lips together letting out a small sigh as he leans more into the warmth encasing him. The kiss is slow and unhurried, just enough to show how much they missed each other but not having enough heat to take things further, just content to be in each other's company again. Seungcheol tilts his head sideways to get a better angle, one of his hands traveling from his waist to his face to gently caress the highest point of Jeonghan's cheek with his thumb, the latter's hand playing with the long hair at the end of his nape. They break apart because of the lack of air in their lungs and Jeonghan unknowingly chases after the other's lips pulling him back in for another series of short kisses, not wanting to let go just yet. He finally leans back with a final peck, forehead resting against Seungcheol, the older man nuzzles his nose into his cheek pressing a long smooch at the same place that has the actor smiling from ear to ear.
"Hello, baby." Seungcheol leans back, his voice a bit breathless and Jeonghan feels enamored by the gummy smile that seems to light up his face. He mutters his own small greeting in another press against his lips and feels as if his jaw is gonna break with how wide his smile is.
"I missed you. Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" Jeonghan can hear the whine in his own voice but he has every right to, he was misled and forced to believe that he would not be able to see his boyfriend for at least three more days.
"I missed you too, and I wanted to give you a surprise. My work finished earlier than expected and I asked Sana to send me your location. I need to thank her by the way." Jeonghan is too weak for him to actually be mad but that didn't mean that he wouldn't have his fun. Duh.
Seungcheol had to be away for a concert. As a solo rapper he didn't hold long concerts but he was a performer, he liked performing and so he tried to hold concerts as frequently as possible. This Asia tour was probably his longest one till date and he should've been back a week ago but he had to stay back for a business meeting in Japan. While he was still a rapper, he was also the youngest son of 'CH Group of Companies', one of the biggest companies in the business world. Even though his older brother was in-charge of most things, Seungcheol liked to be helpful whenever he could.
"Come on, let's go home. I'm so tired and I know you must be too. I just wanna go to sleep and leech off all your body heat from you and not let you go even for a second, it's your punishment." Jeonghan's eyes go droopy, he's feeling more and more drowsy the longer they stand in an embrace, Seungcheol's familiar warmth and homely scent making him sleepier after a long day as the seconds pass by.
"I'm not sure how that's a punishment, sounds like a reward to me." Seungcheol says as he chuckles looking at the state the younger is in, he must be really tired. He pushes back the stray lock of hair that falls on his forehead, pressing a small kiss on his nose loving the way it scrunches up, the way Jeonghan looks so cute doing that always makes him giddy.
"Let's go home."
They take their seats in the car, Jeonghan throwing his bag on the backseat. Seungcheol starts driving, his unoccupied hand naturally gravitating towards the younger, gently brushing his pinky against Jeonghan's who gets the message and turns his hand around to interlock their fingers, their joined hands resting on his thigh. Seungcheol looks over at him as he does that, a content smile gracing his lips. He looks beautiful and Jeonghan feels a rush of fondness so strong, he has to lean over and place a kiss on that dimpled smile, if for nothing else then to just let out the emotions blooming in his chest. The rapper only lets out a soft chuckle as he places a kiss of his own on his hand. He's so in love with this man.
The ride home is filled with comfortable silence, save for Jeonghan singing along with some ballad that plays on the radio, Seungcheol joining him at times. Living in the same apartment building definitely has its perks but living on the same floor has even better benefits especially when their relationship is still somewhat a secret. Even though they've been in a relationship for more than three years both of them agreed on the decision to keep it low under, wanting to make as much of their privacy as they could. Although they have their own apartments, it is safe to believe that they are rarely home alone. One of them is almost always at the other's house, more often than not, the house being Jeonghan's, Seungcheol says that it has a better view of the Han river. Jeonghan would argue that Seungcheol's room had a better view of the skyline and that it was more beautiful but it would be a lie since a good view of the Han was one of his conditions when he and Sana were house hunting.
True to his word Jeonghan did cling onto him the whole time. Trying to get a comfortable Jeonghan to move is a task in itself but to move a tired, worn out and comfortable Jeonghan is a more difficult task, he's kind of like a cat that way. Seungcheol would threaten to carry him like a sack of potatoes but he would probably like that a bit too much so he just pretty much dragged the half asleep man to his own house. At this point after three years they share the two apartments anyway, both of them having half of each other's stuff.
Contrary to how tired and unwilling to move Jeonghan was, surprisingly he was the first one to quickly freshen up and get in bed. Seungcheol on the other hand wanted to take his time but the way the younger was whining every two minutes made it a bit difficult. Also he always has been weak to Jeonghan's whims and wishes, Mingyu always calls him whipped but it's just the effect younger has on everyone around him, it makes it difficult to say no to him (also Mingyu should be the last person to call him out when he himself is a victim to Jeonghan's wishes more often than not).
When he gets out of the bathroom, Jeonghan is peacefully laying on his own side of the bed, comforter pulled up to his neck, desperately trying to keep his eyes open to win the battle against sleep and nearly losing. He sees Seungcheol and lazily lifts up one corner of the comforter beckoning him to get in.
He quickly gets inside the cocoon made by the younger. Jeonghan moves to get closer to him, pressing his always-freezing hands against his abdomen like the little shit he is, letting out a little giggle at the small hiss the older lets out. One of his hands is splayed in the small of his back, the other rubbing the actor's back in long, soothing motions, smiling at the purr-like sound that comes out his mouth as he cuddles closer to his warmth. He presses his lips on the crown of his head, resting against it as he pulls him closer, legs entangling under the covers. The last thing Seungcheol remembers before drifting off is the confession that Jeonghan whispers in a kiss against his chest, right where his heart is.
[—————]
Jeonghan swears he's going to kill Mingyu (not really). When Mingyu showed up at his apartment unannounced and told him to get ready because they were "going out" he expected that they would probably go to the small diner downtown where people don't quickly recognise them and they can have their precious privacy. He loves that diner, the owner was a sweet old lady who always gave them an extra serving because of how she had come to know and love them throughout the years (even though he thinks it's because she wants to secretly set Mingyu up with her granddaughter, she's going to be so disappointed when she finds out that he's about as straight as a wet noodle).
He should've known that something was fishy when Mingyu dressed him up in his tightest pair of jeans and "the shirt" which was nothing but a flowy black shirt that showed off his 'dainty collarbones' as Mingyu would call them.
They've been in the industry for nearly seven years now, four years as models and three since they ventured into acting. One would think that after being in the industry for so many years Jeonghan would have a good social life. Well it wasn't true but also not completely false. He didn't have the best social life, as someone who had a social battery that drained really quick he found it a bit difficult to maintain relationships. His social life wasn't completely bland too, courtesy of Mingyu who had taken it upon himself to get him out there to socialize. While he wasn't a social butterfly he was happy with his small group of friends.
So now he's standing in front of the house of some musician whose name he can't recall (Mingyu tells him later it was Jackson Wang, which he should've known) with Mingyu nearly vibrating out of skin with excitement beside him. He can feel the music coming out of the house with how much his chest is thudding. He can feel his head throbbing with the onset of a headache and he would rather be home and watch one of Mingyu's dramas (the younger boy always feels flustered when Jeonghan quotes his own lines to him) but his dongsaeng seems really excited, so he's just gonna have to suck it up.
When they get inside he can quickly spot the people he knows. He also figures this was some kind of scheme to get him to the party when he sees Wen Junhui who perks up when he spots them, hand waving wildly as his excitement lights up his face. The younger boy is lucky that Jeonghan has a killer soft spot for him. His heart warms at the big hug the Chinese actor pulls him in, his laugh tinkering in his ears. He was happy to see him too as both the males didn't have much time to meet up with their clashing schedules.
Junhui shoves Mingyu in the direction of his other friends (he pouts as if he's being cast away like the child he is) and he pulls Jeonghan the opposite way so that they can catch up. He tells him about how good it felt to go back to his own country even if it was for his job. He fills him up on everything that happened during the shoot as he hands him a glass of red wine. They talk and talk until there is nothing to talk about and Jeonghan has to send him on his way to his other friends too. Jun seems a bit reluctant at first, not wanting to leave his side knowing how antsy he feels in such places but relents when Jeonghan promises to find him if he needs something. He finally leaves with another promise of a lunch date.
A deep sigh leaves his mouth as he's left alone, quietly sipping on his second glass of wine. He wanted to try drinking something else but he did not want to nurse a hangover first thing in the morning. He is pretty amused when he sees Mingyu flush red as he tries to flirt with that one designer he has been gushing over since forever, Xu Minghao, his mind supplies (oh how much fun he's gonna have grilling him, Sana would love this bit of gossip too). And that's how he finds himself in one of the silent parts of the house, just looking at people.
One thing about Jeonghan is that he likes to observe. He would rather stay at one place and look at the chaos unfurl, more often than not being the catalyst. See it was a good skill that he had perfected over the span of his career. It helped him in turning the odds in his favor when things would go haywire. It was especially good when he was acting, observing the scene whilst he was in the character's headspace helped him make the scenes better, knowing where he could fit in an adlib to enhance the shot. It also made him a good co-star and friend to a lot of people.
The room feels stuffy at some point and even though there are not a lot of people Jeonghan is starting to get a bit suffocated. He's thankful that Jun had shown him the balcony on the first floor (god bless Jackson for not having any restrictions other than no sex in the master bedroom). He makes his way to the balcony with a third refill of the wine (why the fuck is it so good?)
The first gust of air that hits his face feels refreshing, cooling down his skin in the most pleasant way. The fresh breath of air sobering him down from what little buzz he felt from the wine. He can still feel the remnants of the fuzzy feeling under his skin, he likes that feeling. It gives him false pretense of letting loose when he knows that he hasn't let loose in the entirety of his career.
He's engrossed in his thoughts when he feels the presence of someone new beside him. He tries not to sigh at the thought of small talk (cut him some slack; he's hungry, tired and at a party he was forced to go to). He tries to look at the new person as discreetly as possible.
The first thing he sees is a silver Rolex adorning a pale wrist and tattoos. A lot of tattoos, they move up the person's arm and are visible only up until where his sleeves are rolled up. He doesn't know when he stopped being subtle and finds himself staring at the person's face, a strong and sharp jaw that looks like it could cut through glass, full lips that look like the reddest of cherries and a glossy nose. He is the most beautiful person Jeonghan has laid his eyes upon. Oh god he's so gay, he hasn't even talked to him yet. He looks at the intruder's eyes and is taken aback when he finds him staring back at him. He can feel his ears heat up with embarrassment at being caught and he knows he should stop blatantly staring and he can't help himself but maintain eye contact. If there is one thing he learned in his career is that do not be the first one to break eye contact (it's bullshit but he likes the power he feels when the other person is the first to look away).
And he does feel a sense of satisfaction when Mr.Pretty-Man looks away under the guise of coughing his ears a bit red too.
"Nice tattoos. They look really amazing. Did they hurt?" He mentally cringed at the awkwardness in his voice but awkward small talk was still better than awkward silence (no, they were both as bad).
"Thank you, the first few did but then I kind of got used to it." The man said as he looked at Jeonghan, one of his hands rubbing over his tattoos, he should really ask him for his name instead of calling him 'the man'.
"You look really good, is that your real skin?" The man starts off sincerely until he realizes what he said afterwards, his eyes widening as his mouth opens in a quiet gasp.
And Jeonghan is stunned, his eyebrows scrunching as he tries to think of a response. How do you respond to someone asking if your skin is real?
"I sure hope it is, does it look fake?" He goes with a cheeky response, touching his face with his fingers, smoothing his features to look as serious as he can. This is the most bizarre question anyone has asked him, such a handsome stranger too at that.
"That was not what I meant, I'm so sorry, obviously it's your real skin, if not yours then who else, of course I didn't think that it was plastic— no that came out wrong, what I meant was that your skin looks really nice." Mr.Pretty-Man's face keeps getting redder as he fumbles over his words and Jeonghan should probably put him out of his misery but this is weirdly the most entertaining conversation he has had in a while. Also he just wants to see him blush.
"Thank you I guess, but shouldn't we be well acquainted before you ask me whether my skin is fake?" He asks with a small laugh, hoping that it will help Mr.Pretty-Man to relax. It seems to work well when he sees him laugh a little too, well he can't actually see him because he's hiding his face in his hands but he can see his shoulders move up and down. Oh god this stranger is cute and Jeonghan is so gay.
"Can we just pretend the past five minutes didn't happen? Let's start over, I'm Choi Seungcheol and I'm a rapper, you might've heard about me. I think. I go by S.Coups." He puts his hand out for a handshake, the tips of his ears a blazing red. The name S.Coups does ring a bell, ah Mingyu keeps listening to his songs. Jeonghan likes that one song too, the one with the beats.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Jeonghan, Yoon Jeonghan and I act sometimes." Seungcheol's hands are warm and uncharacteristically soft when he shakes his hand, his grip firm. The handshake is longer than necessary and it's not that big of a deal but where's the fun in that if he knows it.
"Uh, I'd like to have my hand back please, thank you." Jeonghan says as he points towards their joined hands, an amused smile taking over his face and he knows his eyes are sparkling the way people say they seem to do when he's being mischievous. Seungcheol's face flushes a beautiful pink as he gets flustered yet again and he's expecting him to drop his hand but the man only let's it go with a last lingering touch.
"So… what are you doing here? As far as I remember the party is going on downstairs." Jeonghan asks with one of his perfect eyebrows arched, he's probably being too cheeky with someone he just met but he can't help it. To his surprise Seungcheol does not get red like he expected, instead a more confident look settles on his face.
"Hmmm, I could ask you the same thing." Seungcheol replies with one of his own eyebrows raised, oh god those eyebrows. Well, it was a good change from the ruby cheeked mess he was earlier. Jeonghan hmm-ed, tapping his chin with a finger in faux contemplation, pretending to think whether he should answer or not before he straightened up.
"I don't like parties. It was too stuffy and I had to get some fresh air if I didn't want to lose my mind." He gets an understanding aah from Seungcheol.
"Well, that was me, what's your reason?"
"Yeah, me too. I just wanted to get away from the crowd, too many people." Seungcheol is standing a bit closer to him now and Jeonghan can feel the heat radiating off of him.
"Well… since both of us don't feel like staying here, how do you feel about getting out of here, it's up to you, just a suggestion–" Jeonghan stops him from becoming another blubbering mess by reaching out to place a hand on his arm, which was probably not a good idea for him because oh my god, he can feel the firm muscles under that shirt. He needs to get it together.
"Hmmm, and what's in it for me if I accept your offer?" Jeonghan was hoping that Seungcheol would understand this blatant flirting, he was laying out his best cards, the subtle leaning, the raised eyebrow and the deceptively innocent look. And he did not disappoint when he leaned right back in mindful of keeping a respectable distance between them to not invade his personal space, his lips curved in a subtle smirk as he hmm-ed, looking positively amused.
"Let's see… you get to leave this place, we can go get dinner somewhere you like and you get me as your company, and I'll let you know I've been told that I'm a good company." Seungcheol holds up his fingers as he counts off the reasons, ending with a wink. To be honest, Jeonghan is sold but he still wants to see if he can make him blush again.
"Choi Seungcheol-ssi, are you perhaps flirting with me?" Jeonghan asks him as he folds his arms over one another, cocking his head to the side, a smile overcoming his face.
"Will it affect your decision if I am?" Seungcheol was smiling at him, all pearly white teeth and pretty dimples, damn Jeonghan was a weak, weak person especially when someone smelled nice and this man did.
"I'm craving something greasy, how does samgyeopsal sound?" It was the only answer he was willing to give, the other man was pretty much satisfied with it if the way his smile widened was anything to go by.
"Luckily I know just the right place." Seungcheol says as he puts his palm out for him to take, leading him away when Jeonghan responds by holding it. He can practically see the headlines of articles on social media about both of them if they're not careful enough but the warmth of Seungcheol's hand in his is enough to make him throw caution out of the window.
He drops a quick text to Mingyu informing him that he was leaving to which the younger only replied with an okay, be careful and text me when you get home. There was also a spill the tea later mixed there somewhere.
Then they leave in Seungcheol's car, a sleek black Porsche. He takes him to a small diner hidden away in the crook of the city at a half hour distance from Jackson Wang's place. The car ride is not as awkward as it should be for two strangers and the dinner is nice. Jeonghan can't remember the last time he ate such good food and he made sure to thank Seungcheol for taking him.
They sit at a table at the back of the diner and they talk. Their conversations don't have any particular topics, they talk about work and pets and families and everything in between and Jeonghan feels just a little bit warmer, it's a nice feeling.
Seungcheol tells him about his work as a rapper who has just started out, he tells him about how he was a trainee set to debut in an idol group that didn't make it through and Jeonghan shares about how he wanted to be an idol as well but his body didn't agree and how he quit because it was just too difficult for him. Seungcheol tells him how he has watched some of his shows and how he loved his character when he played an antagonist, while Jeonghan apologizes and tells him how he has probably heard some of his songs because of his friend and how he doesn't really venture into k-hiphop mostly sticking to r&b and indie songs.
It's not a date though, they're just two strangers (not exactly) in the same industry hanging out and having dinner together and sharing stories with each other, it's not a date. It's a…. It's a not-date.
It's fun, eating and talking and laughing with someone who's not a part of his usual company. Jeonghan likes it and before they know it, it's two am in the morning and they need to leave, both of them having commitments and schedules.
The not-date ends with a promise of Jeonghan listening to more of his music and Seungcheol promising to watch his projects in return. Jeonghan gets out of the car waving at him as he drives away, turning around when the car is far away. He's nearly at the elevator when he hears the revving of the car and turns around to Seungcheol jogging his way towards him, a little bit breathless and looking positively nervous.
"Would you like to go on another date with me?" Seungcheol starts off sheepishly, his gaze expectant. Jeonghan takes a moment too long to reply because he starts rambling again.
"Unless you didn't consider it a date and were probably thinking of it as a normal dinner. You probably didn't think it was, did you? I'm so sorry if I made you uncomfortable—" Seungcheol's eyes widened at the thought of him reading things wrong as he started apologizing profusely, fumbling a bit.
He looks too cute and Jeonghan can't help but laugh, one hand coming up to his mouth to muffle the sound, the sound echoing lightly in the silent night. Seungcheol just stares at him with his big cow-like eyes not sure of what to do next.
"Give me your phone." Jeonghan says as he puts forward his hand towards him, Seungcheol gives it to him without any hesitation even though he still looks a little nervous.
Jeonghan quickly punches in his number in the phone, saving the contact as 'Jeonghan' with hearts beside it. He locks the phone and hands it back to the owner.
"You'll need my number to talk about that second date, won't you?" Jeonghan gives him a teasing smile as he waves him goodbye, telling him to message him quickly as he gets inside the elevator.
Jeonghan is standing outside his door when his phone pings.

Jeonghan was smiling so wide his cheeks were starting to ache. Turns out it wasn't a not-date after all. He's pretty excited to see how this goes.

The room feels a bit too warm when Seungcheol wakes up, the beams of sunlight not helping a single bit with the way they fall on his face (he regrets not closing the curtains before sleeping). He wants to get up to close them but it's practically impossible with a dead asleep Jeonghan laying down nearly on top of him.
It should be a crime how this man looks beautiful even when he's asleep. It makes him wonder how the both of them always wake up tangled even though they both have a habit of moving around in their sleep. He's not complaining though, if it were up to him they'd wake up this way for the rest of their lives, but that's a thing for another time.
Jeonghan is sleeping on his arm right now, left leg thrown over his waist successfully trapping him, right ankle hooked with his own and he can't feel a single thing with how numb he is but his boyfriend looks so peaceful, he doesn't want to wake him up. Seungcheol can see his long, long lashes fan out beautifully on his cheeks. The mole on his cheeks is more prominent without any makeup covering it and he just has this crazy urge to kiss him all over his pretty little face.
Seungcheol slowly turns around to see him more clearly, nearly holding his breath when the younger starts stirring, his nose scrunching as he cuddles closer to him, turning around properly when he settles in. His hand moves upwards to remove the strand of stray hair that falls on his forehead, gently running his fingers through his hair. A smile curving on his lips when Jeonghan lets out a soft content noise, pressing his nose against the bare skin of his shoulder, his arms tightening their hold around him.
He loves mornings like these, when everything is quiet and calm. Only the soft sounds of their breathing being audible in the room with the occasional whirring of the air conditioner. Their schedules don't grant them mornings like these as often as he (they) would like and so he cherishes every time he gets them. It's been a little over a month since he gave that little surprise to Jeonghan. The actor had been busy after that one week break that had been given to him before the promotional activities started. It went well even though it left him feeling more tired than anything. Currently both of them are free with Jeonghan taking a small break and him preparing for his next album, making it easier for them to spend time together.
He likes watching Jeonghan move with the gentle rise and fall of his chest, both of them breathing in sync in a way that's so natural to them. Jeonghan likes to whine about how it makes him seem creepy even though he knows that Seungcheol knows that he does that too. His hand moves from his hair to his cheek, rubbing the soft skin. He wants to kiss him so damn much and so he does. He places soft kisses all over his face from his forehead to his eyes to the small mole under his eye and the one below the corner of his eye while his palm moves in small circles on his back.
Jeonghan wakes up with a low giggle trying to move away from the lovely attack on his face with a whine. His eyes are barely open and a soft sleepy smile stretches over his lips and Seungcheol feels a rush of fondness and overwhelming love at the sight in front of him. He is so in love with this man, it physically aches him with how much he feels for him.
"Good morning baby." Seungcheol greets him but is only met with a hmm as Jeonghan tries to bury his face in his bare chest, wanting to go back to sleep. He probably got a good amount of sleep because he didn't try to swat Seungcheol away for disturbing his precious sleep time. He decided to try once again.
"Jeonghan-ah, wake up. It's noon." He tries once more smiling when he finally wakes up still looking a bit disoriented as he tries to rub away the sleep from his eyes.
"Good morning." His voice is muffled against his chest and Seungcheol just gathers him firmly in his arms, pulling him on top of him. His hands rest on the small of his back as he presses a peck on his nose while Jeonghan just swats him away, hiding his face in the crook of his neck complaining about how it was too early for such affection.
"Come on, wake up. I don't want to spend the rest of the day lazing around. Let's go on a date, it's been a while since the last one. Come on up. If we leave by two pm we can have lunch and get to the beach before sunset." Seungcheol says, trying to lean back to see Jeonghan's face, which proves to be a bit difficult with their current position. He feels Jeonghan nodding his head against his neck as well as the vibrations of the affirmative hmm the younger boy let's out.
"On two conditions." Jeonghan looks up to stare at his boyfriend, looking more awake than earlier. Seungcheol just raised an eyebrow in question.
"First, we'll take "the" car," ("the" car being the black Porsche Seungcheol drove him around in when they first met, Jeonghan had a weird attachment with it but always shrugged it off when the older asked him why he liked it so much.)
"Sure baby, whichever you want, what's the second one?"
"Wash my hair for me?" And how can Seungcheol deny him anything when he uses that voice on him, the one he uses when he wants something, the one where he uses aegyo. And god Seungcheol was a weak, weak man.
After that things picked up pace. Bathing was surprisingly a quiet affair whenever Seungcheol washed Jeonghan's hair. He liked showering with him and washing his hair for him, nothing sexual. He liked lathering shampoo in his hair, gently massaging his head. He liked the way Jeonghan relaxed against him with every scratch to his scalp, body going pliant and soft, his tense shoulders loosening up. He would melt under his touch, soft little noises escaping his lips. He liked knowing that he could help him relax, it made him feel happy and accomplished. And each and every time Jeonghan would return the favor by scrubbing his back for him, working his fingers through the tense knots in his back, kneading them away.
They quickly get dressed, Jeonghan rummaging through his own stack of clothes before stealing one of Seungcheol's shirts that is tad too oversized on him. They take necessary things and are on their merry way, to the beach the younger always liked to visit.
Jeonghan had always loved beaches, he liked going to beaches and it didn't matter if it was crowded or not. Luck always seemed to be on his side as people didn't really seem to recognise him that much and even if they did, they usually kept their distance allowing him to enjoy his precious time. More often than not both of them would go together, occasionally snapping a few pictures with some fans they would meet on the way. Their relationship was not an important piece of gossip among fans, the topic limited to them being good acquaintances due to having common friends.
It seemed as if luck was in his favor today too since there was no crowd, it was also a perk of it being a weekday. They have a filling lunch at a nearby restaurant before Jeonghan is running through the sand. It's nearly early evening by the time they reach their destination. Seungcheol watches as Jeonghan strolls throughout the place with an endeared smile.
He can't help but think about the purple velvet box that he keeps hidden in the closet under a pile of new clothes (Jeonghan liked to rummage through his regular clothes to steal something from and he didn't want to risk him finding it). He can't remember the number of times the question was nearly on his tongue, just barely held in.
As looks at Jeonghan's crouched figure, possibly searching for shells, he's reminded of the time he realized he was in love with this beautiful human. It wasn't a groundbreaking discovery of any sort, just the plain truth that he realized one day. The amusing thing was that Jeonghan wasn't even in front of him when that happened.
They were a little over one year into their relationship when Jeonghan got his first major project as the main lead for a famous director. It was something that made him a household name in the country as well as the role that cemented his place among the A-listers of the industry. It was a high point in his career and Seungcheol had never been prouder in his life. As someone who had seen first hand how much effort Jeonghan had put in that role, he was the happiest person when the actor got the recognition he deserved for it.
Later on it won him his first grand award at a prestigious award show and it left Seungcheol disheartened that he couldn't wipe away his tears as he accepted the award. He couldn't attend the show because of some business meeting that he had to attend with his brother, 1004 miles away in another country. He remembers quickly finishing up his work and sitting in his room patiently waiting for the categories his boyfriend was nominated in, still dressed up in his suit. He was elated when the presenter announced Jeonghan as the winner and his breath hitched when he saw him, a disbelieving look on his face as his co-star ushered him towards the stage, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. He looked like the most beautiful person he had ever seen in his life. And then came the speech. He can still remember how it went.
"Hello, I'm actor Yoon Jeonghan. It's an honor to win this award and even though I'm not sure if I'm deserving of this, I'll do my best to live upto the honor I've been given. The character I played was one of the most difficult ones I've had in my career and I gave my everything to do it justice. I'd like to thank the director for trusting me with this movie and this character, my co-stars who helped me, my family who always supported me, the staff members, my manager (I love you) and of course my lovely fans who always give me so much love. I'm sorry I know this is getting long but I have one more person I need to thank. I want to thank the most special and important person in my life for motivating me and helping me get up when I was down and when I wanted to quit. You know who you are and I adore you and I need you to know that you mean a lot to me even if you asked me whether my skin was real when we first met. I love you and once again I'd like to thank everyone who loved and supported this show.'
He still remembers that moment when he realized he had fallen in love as he teared up along with his boyfriend, a wet laugh bubbling out of him as the memory of their first meet flashed in front of his eyes so vividly. It was the first time Jeonghan had said anything about how much he meant to him so candidly and Seungcheol had taken their family private jet back home, mentally apologizing to his brother for leaving so abruptly. He felt like an ass for ignoring Jeonghan's messages but in his defense he just wanted to get to him as fast as he could to let him know how important he was to him too and to tell him that he loved him.
He was too amped up on the serotonin and oxytocin by the time he was ringing Jeonghan's doorbell at three thirty am in the morning. Then the door opened and Jeonghan was standing in front of him in his pajamas holding a tub of ice cream in one hand as his other hand rubbed his eye, trying to see clearly who was at the door at such bullshit time, the spoon still in his mouth. Seungcheol swore that he had never found him more beautiful as much as he did in that moment.
'I'm in love with you' the words spilled out of his mouth, his heart beating faster with every passing moment. The spoon dropped on the ground with a dull thud as Jeonghan's eyes widened almost comically, 'it's three am and I'm in my shinchan pajamas stuffing my face with strawberry ice cream? Are you sure?'. Seungcheol just stepped inside and picked up the spoon in his hand, 'I've seen you dressed in your best designer clothes and I've seen you with pasta sauce all over your face, yes I'm in love with you. I probably have been ever since I first saw you at that party. I saw you standing on the balcony with a glass of wine wearing that outfit and thought that I was looking at an angel and then I made a fool out of myself but you still let me take you out on a date. And I got to know more about you and I fell deeper because you weren't only a pretty face but you had a beautiful heart too,' he took in a shuddering breath. 'It's probably too soon and I don't really have the best reputation and this can end really badly but I love you. I know what we have is still too delicate but i couldn't contain it in myself anymore. I was supposed to be preparing for a meeting but then I realized I had to let you know I'm in love with you and so I hopped on that plane to come here as fast as I could. I'm sleep deprived right now and now that I'm thinking this could probably be a bad idea. You're not saying anything—' and then the only thing he could feel was the softness of Jeonghan's lips on his own.
Jeonghan had pulled him down by his collar as he joined their lips together, their bodies curving into each other. Seungcheol's arms wrapped completely around his small waist, holding him as close as he could while he poured all his love in that kiss. He could distinctly taste the strawberry ice cream that was smeared on Jeonghan's mouth as he kissed him deeply, his hand moving it's grip on the collar to gently cradle his face as turned his head to get a better angle. He can't remember how long they stood there, it couldn't have been more than a few minutes but in that moment it felt like hours and soon Jeonghan was pulling back just barely detaching their lips still holding his face in his soft, soft hands. 'I don't care if this could end badly, we'll face everything together because it's you and I'm in love with you too', Jeonghan whispered in the small space between them, their lips touching with every word. And Seungcheol pulled him right back in. He couldn't believe that Jeonghan was in love with him too.
Seungcheol is pulled out of his thoughts when he hears Jeonghan calling out for him, beckoning him over to where he was standing near the water. The afternoon sun is dimly shining before it starts setting, the myriad of colors make him look more ethereal, painting him in beautiful hues of purple and orange. A lot of times Jeonghan looks so otherworldly that Seungcheol has to take a moment to gather his thoughts, making him wonder how he got so lucky.
He makes his way over to him and presses a soft kiss on his mole, the one at the corner of his eye. He just shakes his head with a smile when the actor makes a questioning sound and grasps his hand, entwining their fingers together. He wants to live in this moment forever, just him, Jeonghan and the sound of water. The two of them walk barefoot on the cool sand as they watch the sunset together. Somehow as they stroll together he is yet again reminded of the purple velvet box under his clothes.

Things were going well after Seungcheol confessed to Jeonghan. He told him how proud he was of him and how he saw the speech, whining a bit when he asked Jeonghan why he included their first meet to which the younger only laughed loudly. They laid together talking until wee hours in the morning and Jeonghan took the opportunity to scold him too, asking him why he left his poor brother behind when he could've just told him everything when he came back and that he wasn't going anywhere. Seungcheol just told him that he did whatever felt right to him and in that moment the flight back home to him felt more right than anything else, Jeonghan flushed a pretty pink at that.
But things were going a bit too well and life had to fuck things up. Seungcheol didn't have the best reputation among people other than his fans. A lot of it was contributed by the fact that he was a bit of a problem child when he was a teenager, it wasn't anything major just excessive partying and low key alcoholic tendencies while some of it was because of the fact he had tattoos and was a rapper.
He grew up in a loving household with loving parents but he didn't know how to cope with his grief after his mother passed away when he was 18. His brother was thousand miles away handling business in some other country and his father busied himself with work, having certain obligations as the head of one of the biggest companies in the country, he wouldn't come home until late hours preferring to drown in his work to cope with his loss. It left Seungcheol alone in their big house that only echoed with emptiness. He started getting tattooed in hopes that it would at least make his father turn his head towards him even if to just reprimand him for tainting his skin, scold him and lecture him that it was foolish of him as the youngest child in a business family, of how people would listen to him if he acted out but his father didn't even bat an eyelash.
And so he started acting out, partying all night and getting home drunk and making friends with the wrong people. It was only when he lashed out on some paparazzi that his father decided he had had enough and sent him to live with his brother to work on his behavior. He had started interning for him along with studying, too busy with work to cause problems. He started getting therapy and found his love for music. At 19 he told his father about his wish of becoming a rapper that his father had wholeheartedly supported. At 21 he went back to Korea and at 23 started his career as a rapper in the k-hiphop industry. Being a rapper was more of a hobby for him as he still continued to work in the company.
He was a changed person when he came back home but impressions lasted on people. There were multiple articles badmouthing him, questioning his ethics as the youngest president of one of the subsidiaries under his father's company, especially now that he was also an occasional rapper but he never really cared about them. Add in a few bad coincidences, he became a bad omen of sorts. Bullshit articles about how things would go south whenever he was involved. It made things messy but he was doing things he loved and that was all that mattered.
His bad reputation was never a problem for him before he met Jeonghan. When the media found out about his association with Jeonghan there were countless articles about how it was only a matter of time before the new rising actor would ruin his career, it was like people were waiting for the shoe to drop just one scandal for that 'i told you so'.
He wanted to try his best to protect him from these hyenas, keeping their relationship as mere acquaintances, friend of a friend which wasn't a complete lie (they did have common friends) but it felt like it was too late.
A year and a half into their relationship he woke up and saw the articles, some rumors about how he was giving Jeonghan's career a push. It was the first time he had addressed such rumors, he issued a statement about it being just a rumor and Jeonghan's company did the same. He was livid and made it clear that he and Jeonghan were good acquaintances and wished that people would leave them alone.
It was barely anything career threatening, just a stupid rumour with an unreliable source but it scared him. It scared him just how easily these rumors could ruin things between them. Earlier he didn't care about the stakes but the stakes are a lot higher than they ever were.
He hasn't seen Jeonghan in a week since that article was posted. He hadn't even been staying in his own home because he didn't want to encounter Jeonghan, choosing to stay at his family home. He finally musters up the courage to message Jeonghan.

Seungcheol arrived at the beach and was waiting for Jeonghan to arrive. He had thought long and hard before he reached this decision. He'd rather be miserable himself than cause the love of his life any problems. He had never loved anyone as much as he loved Jeonghan. He had become an important person in his dull life. Meeting Jeonghan was a breath of fresh air. He made him happy, so happy.
He was trying to talk himself out of the stupid decision he had come upon when he felt Jeonghan's presence beside him, a loud sigh escaping his lips as he sat down. Both of them were quiet for a while, neither of them wanting to break the silence. Seungcheol figured if he didn't say it now he wouldn't be able to do it.
"Let's break up."
A sharp intake of breath.
"You're joking."
"I'm not. Let's break up." He turned his head to look at the younger boy. His eyes were glistening.
"Why?" He could hear the waver in Jeonghan's voice and it took every bit of non-existent power in himself to not pass this off as a mean joke.
"I'm sorry." He sees his expression go from distressed to sad to angry, before Jeonghan takes a deep breath trying to reign in his emotions.
"You mean to say, that after we gave statements for that stupid rumour, you ghosted me for a week going as far as not living in your own home to avoid me, and then you ask to meet up and the first thing you say is that you want to break up? And you're not gonna give me a good reason? Just a half assed apology?" Jeonghan's voice is eerily calm as lists things off and when he says them like that it does make Seungcheol sound stupid and unreasonable.
"You're not gonna give me a plausible reason are you? And I DON'T want the 'it's not you, it's me', if that's what you're gonna give me don't say anything. Please." Jeonghan sounded tired, his voice empty.
"I'm sorry." Seungcheol wants to reach out and hold him, it's hurting him so damn much, seeing Jeonghan act indifferent. Jeonghan picks up his phone and looks at the time, 11:40 pm.
"Since you're not gonna change your mind or give me a reason, can we break up at 12:00 am?" Seungcheol was confused but this was the least he could do after acting like an ass, so he just nodded his head and Jeonghan nodded back, an obscure look in his eye.
They didn't speak, not having anything to say. Seungcheol tried to hold it in from taking it all back, he just needed to hold on for ten more minutes.
Five minutes remained and Jeonghan took his phone, opening the settings and changing the time, setting the clock behind by three hours and then he took Seungcheol's phone to do the same.
"Jeonghan-ah it doesn't work that way, let's just go back. It's 12:00 am." Seungcheol was stupid to believe that Jeonghan would accept it so easily.
Seungcheol tried to get up but Jeonghan just pulled him down by his hand with surprising strength.
"You're gonna sit back down and we're gonna be here until it's 12:00 am. If you're stubborn you know I'm more stubborn than you." Jeonghan doesn't even look at him, his gaze turned upwards looking at the cloudless night sky.
"We're gonna sit here and talk. I'll keep turning back the clock until you tell me why you thought you could just show up and say something like this." His voice is leveled, just barely concealing a whimper and Seungcheol tried to strengthen his breaking resolve, turning his head to hide the tears.
"We're in this together, what gave you the right to call things off. You know what? It would've been fine had you given me a proper reason, was it me? Was it something I did? Was it something you did? Just tell me, do you like someone else? I'd be damned to let you break up with me if it's for something we can solve. That night when you showed up at my door still dressed in your suit and told me you were in love with me I told you that I'm in love with you too and that I'm ready to face everything that comes my way as long as it's you, I'd do anything for you. So if we're not able to solve whatever it is and you still want to break up, I'll leave you alone. You won't see me anymore and that's a promise." Jeonghan was openly crying at this point, his voice wet with tears. And whatever weak resolve Seungcheol had broke, tears spilling from his eyes at a rapid pace as he cried, trying to wipe his tears with his t-shirt sleeve.
Jeonghan just put a hand on his back rubbing soothingly as he himself cried, there was something so inherently Jeonghan about that gesture, trying to be there for someone who hurt him when he himself was hurting too. Seungcheol looked at him and pulled him in his arms, holding him as tightly as he could, like he wanted to ever since he sat down beside him and Jeonghan returned the gesture with the same intensity, moving until he was sitting in his lap, his fingers digging in his back with how tightly he was holding him.
That night they sat there on the beach, the grainy sand cool under them, crying in each other's arms, holding each other in a suffocating grip and Seungcheol told him every thought that was plaguing him. He apologized again and again for trying to leave him behind and all the while Jeonghan just listened to his worries without saying anything. That night when they had no more tears left they promised to each other that they'll talk about each and every thought, good or bad or something that keeps niggling at the back of their minds. They promised to not give up without at least trying.
It would be okay, everything would be okay as long as they're together.

It's a perfect day. They wake up wrapped around each other, Seungcheol waking up early because he has to be present for a meeting with his father. He gets ready while Jeonghan is still sleeping in, turning around in bed and crawling towards the warmth on Seungcheol's side of the bed as he still has at least an hour before he needs to get ready for a CF shoot.
Seungcheol spritzed some cologne and walked out of the closet, making his way towards the bed. He sat down beside the Jeonghan shaped lump on the bed, dragging the comforter down from his face, pecking his cheeks and pressing a long kiss on his lips, whispering a soft goodbye, smiling when he heard a small ba-bye. He's nearly out the door when rushes back in to give a bundled up Jeonghan another kiss, and I love you said aloud that is reciprocated just as loudly. He loves this.
Jeonghan wakes up when he hears the front door shut. He checks his phone for any emails and takes his time to get ready, showering and doing his morning skin routine. He gets dressed in one of Seungcheol's black shirts that is too loose on him, eats a quick breakfast consisting of his favorite cereal and is out the front door and into his own home to get his stuff before he leaves for the shoot.
Seungcheol's work goes smoothly, he makes a quick detour to the studio and discusses album ideas with Jihoon, his best friend, also known as the award winning producer Woozi. His next album is almost ready with just a few things left to be done before it's released. It's nearly dinner time by the time he's done with all of his work. He sends a quick text to Jeonghan before he leaves for home.

Jeonghan is smiling so wide he feels as if his mouth will split open. Joshua only gives his friend a knowing smile, having seen first hand how disgustingly cheesy and affectionate the couple can be. Joshua Hong, one of Jeonghan's best friends from his modeling time, also the owner of Pinwheel Jewels, one of the leading jewelry brands around the world.
He met Sana at the set who gave him the details for the shoot. It was a commercial film for one of the skincare brands he endorsed. The shoot went quite well and he was done with it before he knew it. He then went to the company building. He had decided to propose to Seungcheol that night and he just wanted to give his PR team a heads up for what could happen if his boyfriend said yes (he hoped so). They had been keeping their relationship lowkey for so long and Jeonghan was tired of it, he just wanted everyone to know that Choi Seungcheol was an amazing human being and that he was his. He was truly blessed to have such an amazing staff and agency who only gave him a thumbs up, wishing him luck.
He was ready to leave for home when he got a message from Joshua, 'it's done. Come and pick it up whenever.' That was just what he needed. He and Joshua had been working on the ring for more than six months and he had also bought an extra ring just to be on the safer side in case the ring wasn't made on time. And that's how he found himself sitting with Joshua in the younger man's office.
Joshua excused himself for a moment and came back with a black velvet box in his hands. Jeonghan held his breath as he opened it, letting out an amazed sigh as he saw the masterpiece. The ring laid in the center of the box, pillowed over a plush satin covered pillow. It was a plain thick platinum band encrusted with a string of black diamonds in the middle, decorated by vines on either side. It was a beautiful piece of jewelry, elegant but not too flashy.
He thanked his friend for his work as he left his office, Joshua asking for the payment in the form of his best man to which he only answered that he'd have to fist fight Mingyu for that position. He quickly called Mingyu for a pep talk as he drove himself home. It wasn't the wisest decision because Mingyu got too worked up over wedding preparations and didn't motivate him at all.
He lets himself inside the house, dropping the keys in the handmade clay dish that he had gifted the older. Putting his bag aside he goes to the living room and sees his boyfriend laying on the couch, fast asleep. He moves towards him and lays down on him, resting his head on his chest listening carefully as his heart speeds up.
"Hello sweetheart." Seungcheol's heart skips a beat as he hears Jeonghan's voice and raises his head to see the man of his affections.
"Hey, baby. You're back." Jeonghan nods his head from where it's perched on the back of his hands on Seungcheol's chest, his eyes closing on their own accord as he feels a kiss in his hair.
"Come, let's eat dinner. I ordered from your favorite place, it should still be hot." Seungcheol waits for him to get up but is only met with a whine as he shakes his head.
"Let's stay like this for a while."
"No, I know you haven't eaten anything the whole day. We'll cuddle after dinner, we'll even put on your favorite movie afterwards." Jeonghan gets up with another whine, a pout on his lips that Seungcheol chases away with a kiss.
They eat their dinner along with the soju Jeonghan bought, chatting about their day in between.
They keep drinking even after they're done with their dinner and Jeonghan's face feels a bit warm, he doesn't know if it's from the spiciness of the chicken, the soju or because of Seungcheol's loving gaze on him.
Seungcheol can't help but keep looking at his boyfriend, his cheeks are flushed a beautiful pink. Jeonghan always starts taking a bit cuter when he's drunk and Seungcheol loves being on the receiving end of it. He always feels giddy with joy when it happens. He always has been weak for his boyfriend and just gets weaker when he's being cute.
They're sitting in the living room and Jeonghan looks like an angel, the mood lighting forming a little Halo around his head as it reflects on his now blonde hair. And Seungcheol feels that same itch in his throat again, the purple velvet box coming to his mind. He decides that he doesn't want to wait any longer, they had promised each other that they'll get through everything together and he wants, he wants. He wants so desperately to call this man his own.
Jeonghan is starting his third bottle of soju when Seungcheol asks him to sit on the couch and excuses himself for a moment, asking him to stay put. He waits patiently for him to come back albeit a bit confused. He closes his eyes for a moment to give them some rest after being under bright lights for hours.
He hears shuffling in front of him and opens his eyes. He's met with the sight of Seungcheol kneeling in front of him on both knees, holding a purple velvet box in his hand. As gasp escapes his mouth, his eyes welling with tears. He feels more sober than ever.
"Yoon Jeonghan, you are the most beautiful person I've met in my life. I made a fool out of myself when I first talked to you and when you made fun of me, I was a goner. I'm not the best person when it comes to relationships but I tried for you, I'll always try anything for you. You were patient with me when I tried to run away by breaking up with you and made me promise to communicate. I don't know what i would've done with myself if we broke up at that time because of my stupidity. You always make everything brighter by just being, you made my life brighter and I'll always be grateful for that. I know I'm not the most perfect man and I make a lot of mistakes. I try to do everything by myself and make things harder. I might not know a lot of things but I know you, and I know that I'm in love with you. You were holding my heart in your hands ever since you first smiled at me and it doesn't scare me because you were always a gentle person. I had the whole speech written down but I can't remember anything so I'll just ask you. Yoon Jeonghan, you are the only one I want to love for the rest of my life, will you give me that privilege by marrying me?" Seungcheol was teary at this point and Jeonghan outright crying, little hiccups escaping his lips as he said yes. His face was red and there were tears all around his eyes but Seungcheol still believed he looked like the most beautiful person on earth as he slid the ring on his finger, it was a perfect fit.
The ring was a simple platinum band encrusted with a string of purple diamonds in the middle. It was similar to the one Jeonghan had designed for Seungcheol.
Seungcheol wiped away Jeonghan's tears with his t-shirt, wincing a little when he started hitting him, a litany of i hate yous tumbling out of his mouth. He held his hands and pulled him against his chest confused as to why he was getting hit. Jeonghan just pushed him away, standing up to get something as he ordered him to sit his ass on the couch.
Jeonghan came back with a black velvet box in his and kneeled down in front of Seungcheol on both knees. Seungcheol just sat on the couch, staring at him with his mouth open.
"Choi Seungcheol, I hate you. I was going to ask you today, you know? But you wanted to be first in that too. I've never been the best with words nor have I been the most eloquent speaker. But you always understand what I mean to say and I'll forever be grateful for that. You came into my life and my heart had been beating in sync with yours ever since. I first fell in love with your gummy smile and then with your big heart. I don't know what else to say because I didn't prepare anything. But Choi Seungcheol, you are the first person I fell in love with, will you please be my last?" It was Seungcheol's turn to cry as he said yes and Jeonghan slid the ring on his finger. He pulled him in his lap, his legs on either side as he closed the distance between their lips.
Their lips move together languidly, with familiarity. The kiss isn't fast paced or hungry but full of love.
