Work Text:

Sara finished brushing her hair when Michael walked in the bathroom.

"Hey." He said softly, locking eyes with her in the mirror.

"Kids down ?" Sara asked, raking her hair into place with a hand and placing the brush down.

"Faith is. Mike said he wants to read some more." Michael said with a little smile as he stared at her figure in the mirror.

She nodded then looked up and caught the sparkle in his eyes.

"What ?" She frowned.

He held her shoulders from behind, placing her in the centre of the mirror. "I really like you in white." he said softly and she smirked, catching his eyes. "I know you do." she paused, and removed his hands. "But I left my coat at the cabinet and I am tired today." She walked away from the bathroom.

Michael chuckled following her as she settled on the bed. "I didn't even mention your doctor's coat. I mean, I have a soft spot for that because that's what you always wore when we met, but I am not always fetishing on that." He defended mock offended.

Sara chuckled as he sat on the bed, back to her, she stroke his back. "Come on, lay down, come here." Michael obliged.

"I love you. I just really had a long day, I am up since 4 remember ?" Sara yawned.

"But, you don't get it. It's not about sex." He scolded a bit.

She frowned. "Then what ?" she whispered confused.

"I was just thinking...I mean this afternoon I walked paste this wedding dress place, and I just thought, I really want to see you in one."

Sara looked at him suprised. "What do you mean ?" She chuckled, trying not to read anything into his words.

"Just that you'd look beautiful in one. I just had this vision of you in one." He smiled fondly.

Sara smiled, shrugging. "You did see me in one, remember ?" she showed her hand to him, where hed wedding band rested on her third finger.

"Yes, but not that one." He let out.

She raised an eyebrow. "You didn't like my wedding dress ?" She asked.

"You know I did. You looked beautiful, and I loved it.." Michael started.

"But ?" Sara anticipated.

Michael sighed. "But that day was kind of ruined...I mean, I still think of it as a good day, but I just....your happiness were cut off so short."

Sara looked down, remembering. "I know. But I loved it, our wedding was one of the most special moment of my life, Michael." She poured.

Michael took a hand to her cheek. "I know, and I hate that they took you away Sara. I am so sorry." He apologised.

She held her his hand, kissing his palm. "Please don't. Nothing was your fault." she let out, her eyes tearing up.

"I know. But I just, how happy you were that day...I just want to see you that happy again." Michael smiled.

Sara sighed contently. "I am that happy." she let out, as if it was the obvious.

"No, just to be special happy, with those sparkles in your eyes, I want it to be your day, with nothing to ruin it with you in a gorgeous dress, looking like...a queen. You deserve it, and so much."

Sara looked at him, blinking melting at his words. "Do I have to wear the Queen's hats too ?" She asked laughing at his choice of words.

He laughed, clasping her hand. "Not that Queen. You deserve everything, so much more than what I could give you." He poured saddened.

"Michael, you sacrified seven years of your life for me. That is everything, and so much more than those who make their wives fancy wedding ceremonies can ever do. Don't think like that..You love me so much it hurts" she pressed, voice cracking a little.

He sighed. "But I don't want you to think all I did for you was heartbreak and distance and pain." He sighed, his own eyes filling. "I want you to remember something good, something happy." Michael let out.

"Our children are the something good and happy you gave me." She squeezed his hand fondly.

"Yes, but that's not the same. And even that wasn't happy moments, you were alone for Mike, and Faith was so sick we were worried out of our minds when she arrived." He sighed.

"So what do you want, we go for a shopping afternoon and I just try wedding dresses, if you really want to see me in one, have some time for ourselves and come back home ?" she suggested and he laughed.

"That's what you think I am saying ?" he looked at her with so much love, she could melt right away.

"I don't know Michael, what are you saying ?" She pretended to be clueless.

"I am saying it would be nice to see you as a bride again, for us to get married again ?" Sara laughed looking at the roof shying away from his eyes.

"You're crazy. We are married, and I am 40 years old." she let out nervously.

"So what ? People get married even after 90 years old ! You're never too old to be a bride." He pressed.

"Yes, but I am too old to act like a teenage girl excited about prom." Sara rolled her eyes.

"There's no age to be happy about getting married, that's the Frontier Justice Frank upbringing talking." He teased and Sara rolled her eyes laughing.

"Or is it that you feel you'll look too old next to me ?" He quipped cockily.

"I could look like your daughter." She quipped back.

"What ?" He asked laughing in mock shock.

"It's the all grey hair you've got." she chuckled, fondly stroking his hair.

They quieted and after a second. "But think about it, Mike would look so handsome, and can you imagine Faith in a cute pretty dress ? she could be your bridesmaid." He smiled.

"Ah not her, she'll ruin everything." Sara shook her head.

"Hey stop underestimating my daughter, I'll train her." Michael defended.

"Well you need to ask me properly first, I mean what was it ? You look good in white, really ?" she raised an eyebrow.

"I see we're getting full of ourselves now, alright. I'll ask you properly, one day."

"Does that mean I have to get you a new ring ?" he asked.

Sara laughed. "Oh I don't know, it's your idea, now figure it out. I am pretending I don't know anything, surprise me."

"Alright Mrs.Scofield, I will." he quipped and she looked at him. "I love you." she poured, and closed the small distance between them to kiss him.

He kissed her back, softly, but she deepened the kiss and he pulled back.

"I thought you were tired ?"

"Kind of not anymore, I love you." she repeated, in awe of his always thoughful mind and deep inside, touched by the idea of renewing their vows.

Michael laughed pulled her closer, rolling over her as she removed her shirt. "You know I said all that just for this right ?" He quipped.

"You're a liar." Sara laughed but was cut off mid-laugh by his lips on hers again, and his hands on her hips.

.........

Sara made it back home and closed the door. She yawned, she was tired, it had been a long day.

Everything was dark and she frowned. She was late home, but it was not even 9 yet, kids couldn't be asleep yet and Michael was usually just wandering around doing some work or cleaning dinner, or relaxing in the couch with a book and his specs, usually.

"Michael ?" she called out, and frowned even more as she saw candles lightened on the coffee table.

She dropped her bag, removed her shoes and made her way to the dining room, taking a turn and seeing the whole room full of candles.

Michael wore a white shirt, jeans and a black tuxuedo coat.

"what the.." She let out surprised.

Mike and Faith laughed, hiding behind chairs.

"Is this supposed to be Halloween, you freaked me out." she let out startled.

"Halloween is in fall, it's february." Mike argued.

"Sshh." Michael hushed them, and he walked up to Sara, held her hand and bent on one knee.

Sara gasped realising, a hand on her heart. "Oh my god..Michael ?" She let out in surprise.

"Dr Tancredi, I had prepared a long speech that Faith spilled water on, and I dont even think it matters anymore, all I know is I love you, would you do me the honor to marry me ?" he asked dramatically, pulling out an origami keychain and Sara started laughing.

"my god, you didn't even do this bend on knee thing first time you proposed to me." she whispered, low enough so only he could hear.

"Let me pretend I am a gentleman infront of my children, I got a reputation to maintain." He whispered back, teasing.

She laughed. "Michael what are you even doing ?" she let out in shock.

"Well yesterday, you asked me to propose properly." he said obviously.

"I thought that this wasn't serious, that it was just a one afternoon thought you had." She let out bewildered.

"I only make plans doctor, not one afternoon thoughts." he said full of himself and she laughed.

"So will you marry me ?" he asked again.

"We're already married, I thought this wasn't serious ?" she asked, speechless.

"I was serious. You and me, tying the knot again, making up for how badly it turned the first time. Will you marry me ? last time I am asking, I am considering this a rejection then." he quipped and she smiled, getting down to his level, getting used to the idea.

"I don't know, you are a little bit old..with all this grey hair." she stroked his head quipping. "and does those two monsters come in the package ?" she asked eyeing the chairs behind where they hid.

"Hey mom !" Mike said offended. "I is not a monster." Faith added defensively.

"It's a simple question Sara." He repeated laughing a little.

"I need to know the terms of contract before signing." she quipped proudly.

"Yes they do. I love them too much to give them up for a mere woman." he replied.

She scoffed. "I am a mere woman ?" She let out mock-indignated.

"Mom ! say yes !" Mike pressed.

"So, mom ?" Michael asked again.

Sara rolled her eyes, feigning annoyement. "Yes, I'll marry you." she let out and he finally put the keychain on her finger and pulled her to him.

Faith and Mike coming to them and threw rose petals over their embracing bodies.

Sara let out a gasp. "this so cheesy and cliché Michael." she said against him, he backed from the hug, pecking her lips.

"I know, I tend to be on that side these days, sooth me better than the running and all I saw when I was away, that was enough for a lifetime." He whispered to her and she smiled, if this is what he found happiness in.

And thinking about marrying Michael Scofield made her happy too.

.......

"So how are we feeling ?" Maricruz asked, as they sat in the waiting room.

Sara looked up from where she played with her fingers.

She glanced at her children, sitting on the opposite chairs, but they were busy with some book puzzle Mike was showing Faith.

She allowed herself a shaky breath. "Nervous."

"Awe, don't be..." Maricruz put a hand on her shoulder.

"The whole idea feels just like..I mean I don't even know what we're doing." Sara laughed nervously.

Maricruz smiled. "You both are so adorable, you deserve this."

"Thank you for being here, I do have friends but no one as close to.. you know.." Sara let out.

"I know...and you have them." She looked over to Mike and Faith.

Sara smiled nervously. "Yeah..their opinions really matter to me." Sara blinked looking at her children.

Maricruz laughed. "They're children mami, you just pick whatever you like, we're the cheering crowd, okay ?" She encouraged.

Sara nodded and was taken away by the salewoman a few instants later. They were here, with an appointement to pick her wedding dress. Their wedding was scheduled for a month from now, it was a May day, out in their own backyard, below their cherry tree. Just them, the officer, Lincoln and Sucre as witnesses, Maricruz, Sheba, Mahone and his wife, and LJ was making it up from LA where he was settled now.
A couple of Michael's close colleagues that he had wanted to invite. Heather was coming from New York with her family. And Sara has invited one more of her close friend from Chicago.

That was starting to be a little crowd already.. And she felt so nervous, happy, but nervous. She had never ever imagined getting married again. Everything with Michael had been so unexpected. She loved him with all her heart, and loved their life and their family, but they had never really done things the normal way, they didn't date, didn't get married properly, and after he came back, Sara had to admit both shied away from the idea of a new wedding at that time.

Things were so emotional and tender and full of anguish those first few months with Michael back in her life, that they both didn't even think about renewing their vows. To her, she also didn't want to have to, at that point. She was Mrs.Scofield. And they were husband and wife, never had not been. Getting married again at that time would have made her feel like they had not been, while she was married to Jacob, like it was a way to wash herself off of the marriage she shared with Jacob. And she never wanted anything with Michael, specially not such a special event, to be tinted with those thoughts, with his shadow looming there in her head.

After that, when they had finally settled in routine and domedticity, they relished it, cherised it. The fear that their past would haunt them forever, that it might not even let them find each other, that fear was gone. They didn't want anything to interrupt their newfound confort and companionship. And by the time she was expecting Faith, it felt like their relationship was so strong, so evidently deep and untouchable that they didn't really need to renew their vows. That was amateur next to everything they had been through.

Now, the idea felt absolutely out of nowhere, but the more they planned, the more she grew to like it, and that scared her, she had never been allowed indulging in such kind of happiness for her, just for herself. After Michael's death, everything she did, her whole functionning had been Mike, for Mike. And after Michael came back, her mantra was for their family, and for their children. And now for the first time in what felt like, maybe her entire life, she felt like she was doing something for herself, for her happiness, and Sara wasn't used to that.

"Hey.." The salewoman interrupted her thoughts. "so I have asked for the dresses you just picked, they're just adjusting the fitting and lacing according to your size. Shouldn't be long." the middle aged African American woman told her, her name was Miranda, from her badge.

"Okay, thank you." She said gratefully. Sara liked her, she reminded her of nurse Katie, frank but sweet.

"So you kind of went all over the place, I mean you chose very different types of dresses, no idea what precise type you'd prefer ?" Miranda asked her.

Sara let out a nervous chuckle. "To be honest it all feels so overwhelming..I have no idea what kind of dress would look nice on me...or just..." she paused. "you know just being here in the shop and feeling all the attention on me, I'm not used to it, never thought I'd visit a wedding showroom. It's my first time trying wedding dresses." She admitted.

Miranda sympathised. "But, you told me this is the 3rd time right ?" she asked.

"Yes.." Sara sighed. "First time, it was my husband, and we're renewing our vows now. But things were complicated and we didn't have a lot of time.." Sara said sadly..they had even less time than they had known back then.

"I just wore this beach dress that I shopped for in Miami, I do love it, it was light and..it's beautiful. But it wasn't a wedding wedding dress.." She let out. "Second time.." Sara paused, looking down. "it was just a civil marriage, no big event, even less than my first time. I just wore a formal skirt and kind of a silky classical shirt to the court." Sara recalled, how she had even fell too overdressed for that. It was the maximum of efforts she could do, but looking at herself in the mirror that day, she had felt like she was taking Michael's bride away. That she was becoming someone else, that being someone else's bride would even take herself away.

"You sound like you have a lot of nerves..alright it's okay, you need to relax, and we're just going to try on some dresses and see where we go from there, okay ?" Miranda said sweetly and Sara gave her a small smile.

"Where's Faith ?" Sara immediately asked coming out of the dressing room with her first dress on.

"Wow mom !" Mike smiled seeing his mother in a wedding dress for the first time.

"She's in the playroom, wouldn't stay put. I said never mind." Maricruz explained.

"She doesn't want to see me and help me pick ?" Sara asked almost to herself.

Maricruz smiled knowingly. "She's a baby, we'll bring her when we've found the dress. You focus on yourself, how are you feeling about this one ?"

Sara turned to the mirror and took a deep sigh. "I feel right in a movie.." she laughed nervously. "I mean I never ever thought.." Sara whispered, in disbelief.

"Well it's happening now." Maricruz reminded, grounding her. "And you have nothing to be scared of, I mean you have no doubts, no reason to stress, you two are made for each other. This is just a moment about you, how do you feel ?"

"I think.." Sara focussed. "The bottom is maybe a little too much ? I am too old for this." she looked at her reflection.

"You're not too old mom, you're beautiful." Mike reminded and Sara glanced at him throught the mirror, feeling thankful and emotional.

Mike wasn't too open with compliments or supports. He was a very quite and introvert child, if he was saying this today, it was really to support her and she felt touched.

"He is right, now to be honest yeah, maybe the ballgown isn't your type, I mean, nah, we need something else. It's too much volume." Maricruz said honestly.

"Yeah you're right, the sweetheart neckline isn't doing it either.." Sara agreed.

"That's not you, doesn't feel like you, right ?" Mike asked.

She tried on a second dress.

"I like the lace.." Maricruz observed.

"I like some lace too...but I feel like it's all lace ?" Sara let out. "I mean it's a nice dress but..something quite isn't right." She looked at herself again and then turned to Mike.

"I think this one is too simple." He said honestly.

"Yeah, it's way too conservative, and classic and way too covering. I like some vintage touch, but this is too vintage, too southern." Marcruz laughed and Sara relaxed, laughing a bit too.

"We need something more modern, more sexy... not too over the top but sexy, you're a sexy woman." She said and Sara's eyes widened a little bit as she eyed Mike. "Maricruz." she whispered nervously.

"What ? He's almost a growing young man, do you think your mom is sexy Mike ?" She asked and Mike laughed.

"I think she is a beautiful mom." He admitted looking over at Sara. "Woman, think of her as a woman right now, not your mom. What would you say ?" Maricruz prompted.

Sara shook her head, scoffing.

"I would say this is too simple, she has a nice.." Mike hesitated, nervously looking at Sara. "A nice waist ? shape ? you can said it.." Maricruz encouraged.

"Yes body shape..and this cut isn't complimenting it well." Mike said thoughtfully.

Sara let out a breath. "Oh my god, that's the baby I was holding in my arms yesterday.." Maricruz laughed.

"He is growing up.. so I think he's right, know what mami ? Neckline is too high, we need something more open and sexy there.."

"Something that compliments me but not Kardashian either." Sara rolled her eyes and Maricruz laughed.

"Yes exactly. Keep some lace, some of the boheme look but more modern." she approved.

The instant Sara saw herself in the 3rd dress, she felt beautiful.

"Oh my god wow." Mike stood up as she made her way in the room and she grinned.

Maricruz grinned too. "Sara, you look stunning. I love this one."

"I love the neck part, and bottom isn't too simple, but not too over the top either...I think I like it." She let out.

"Like it or love it ?" Miranda asked.

Sara breathed and looked at herself in the mirror, she bit her lip, and then allowed a grin to spread on her face.

"I don't know... Mike ?" she turned to her son. "It's beautiful mom, this is the one. You look so beautiful." He said with a grin, still standing up.

"Can I ?" he asked Miranda and she nodded. "Sure." He stepped forwards and embraced Sara.

She held him against her, closing her eyes. "I love the details, this is so pretty...dad will love it." Mike touched the fabric.

Maricruz got upt too, and closer to them as Mike backed, to take a closer look. "This is gorgeous, look at that neckline, it's perfect." She smiled, eyeing the slight dip in cleavage that complimented Sara's body beautifully.

Sara turned to the mirror with a smile, her eyes lightening up..and tearing up and she bit her lip. "I love it too, and Michael.." her face contorted and she sobbed, covering her eyes with her hand. "I need a minute." she excused herself.

Mike looked at her sobbing frame on a sofa some meters away his face full of concern. "She isn't the type to cry on just a wedding dress...I knew she'd be happy and emotional but..." he frowned in concern.

"I have seen some strong reactions but are you sure she's alright ?" Miranda asked.

Maricruz hesitated then sighed. "Life just gave her too much hard times." and went after Sara.

"Hey, hey Mami, you're going to ruin the dress.. it's alright." Maricruz sat next to her and held her, Sara let herself be held, weeping quietly.

"What's wrong...is it just that you can't believe you have him back ?" She asked, soothing.

"I can't believe all of this..." she sobbed and Maricruz rubbed her back in support.

Sara backed from the embrace, trying to dry her tears. "It's just, the last time I picked clothes before Michael died, last time I got dressed when he was alive, it was for our wedding...after that I was incarcerated and it was just prison clothes. And then he died.." She sobbed, the renewed grief tearing her heart. "And I didn't ever want to dress again, to have to pick clothes...I didn't even want to feel pretty or look good for so much time after his death." Sara sobbed.

"I am so sorry.." Maricruz consoled.

"Whenever I even felt like I looked good, even in a shirt, afrer his death, I felt guilty.. I died with him, my body was just here to raise Mike." Maricruz stroke her back.

"It's alright let it out..you know that he is alive now, that you have a beautiful family. And you're going to be his bride again. How do you feel about that ?"

Sara shut her eyes. "I cant believe it. I feel like crying, but I feel happy inside, I am so happy and I feel so beautiful and I didn't think it would ever be possible again for so long." she sniffed, wiping her cheeks.

"My father would be proud of me ?" she asked almost to herself. "he died before he could reach out to me..but he knew about the company. He would be so happy and proud, he always wanted to see me as a bride." Sara let out, feeling all the pain her heart held coming out, Maricruz held her hand.

"I know what you feel like, my father died when I was young."

"I am sorry, I am so sorry I am reacting like this.." she dried her tears.

"Here, a wedding dress at my showroom made someone cry this much, I don't know if it's a compliment or if I should shut my business." Miranda handed her tissues.

Sara chuckled. "No, I am so sorry, the dress is beautiful." she smiled, sniffing and getting up to look at herself again.

Mike hugged her again, and she bent to his level this time. "You look so beautiful mom, I know you and dad have been away for a long time and that this still makes you sad, but I really want you to be happy, and you don't even know how happier you are since he is back, I've seen you before and I see you now." He whispered quietly against her and Sara held him tighter trying not to cry again. "You're beautiful in this dress and I am so happy for you."

She kissed the back of his head. "Thank you..I love you." She stroke his back and backed, smiling at him.

Maricruz had went to find Faith and brought her to see Sara, she set her down, carrying her up as she asked her to close her eyes.

"Okay, here, open your eyes now."  Maricruz told her.

Faith opened her eyes and let out a shocked gasp.

Sara eyed her reaction as she watched her little eyes taking her up and down.

"You like it ?" Sara asked.

"oh wow iza dress!" Faith exclaimed.

Sara smiled.

"Mama is look good." Faith said still in awe and shock, she clapped her tiny hands and Sara's heart melted.

"Thank you, sweet girl." Sara bent to her level.

"Is beautiful, I love you." she smacked her cheek totally in awe.

Sara hugged her in appreciation, she didn't even know she could feel this happy, like pure joy. "Love you back." she held her close.

"So we have the little girl's approval too ?" Miranda asked.

Sara chuckled. "Yes we have, I wasn't buying it without her approval." Sara smiled.

"That is exactly why I let her play, this nina, she would want sparkles and glitters everywhere and would have confused her mother." Maricruz laughed rolling her eyes.

"How about we pick you a dress too ? What colour would you like ? Do you have a children's departement ?" Sara turned to Miranda.

"Sure, let's get you out of the dress, I'm sending it for fittings and then we can pick your little girl one pretty dress too." Miranda smiled.

"I want like mama." Faith demanded. Sara stroke her red hair with a smile. "You're a little too small, you'll wear one dress like mama at your own wedding, okay ?" Sara chuckled as she heard Maricruz laugh at her statement.

"Actually there might be a way we can find a white dress exactly matching yours for her, we do this all the time, it's not a problem." Miranda promised.

"That would be great. Mike, want to look for something too ? I saw some nice tuxuedos." Sara looked over at her son, all stress and tension suddenly replaced by joy and excitement, she was looking forwards to this.

"Actually..it was supposed to be a secret but dad and I already picked our outfits, we went last week." Mike admitted with a smile and Sara looked at him in disbelief.

"But when ? Wait..you know what your dad will wear ?" Sara paused.

"Yes, and yes we took pictures and no I am not showing you." He grinned.

"Mike please, just so I can know if this dress matches or not.." She tried.

"Don't mom." He chuckled. "This dress is perfect, trust me, dad will love it. But till your wedding day, I am the only one who has seen you in both your wedding look." He smiled, proud of that adavantage.

"Mama ! Is get me a dress." Faith said impatiently pulling at her hand.

"Yes, let's get you a dress."

........

"dada we got a dress!" Faith exclaimed as they made it back home, running to Michael who sipped coffee on the kitchen counter stool.

"you got a dress ? that's wonderful." he eyed Sara.

"You look so pretty with this." He commented seeing the tierra in her hair.

"She has it on since she tried it and dont want to remove it." Sara informed, putting her handbag down on the counter.

"So what ? she can keep it, you're jealous she is going to steal the spotlight ?" he quipped.

Sara shook her head amused, washing her hands and then serving herself some water.

"You know what Faith ? I'll tell you a secret, you're the most beautiful girl of the world, even more beautiful than mama." He teased kissing Faith's nose and Faith laughed as Sara mock coughed. "I heard that." She let out.

"Where's Mike ?" He asked her.

"Gone to cinema with friends " Sara replied. "He said that I was uh..sexy and had nice curves or shapes whatever.." she closed her eyes blushing. "uh..I am wondering what kind of movie these kids watch nowdays.." she shook her head.

Michael laughed at her self consciousness. "Is mama sexy Faith ?"

"yes mama is beautiful too..is all beautiful" Faith defended her mother to his previous statement, and Sara grinned fondly eyeing Michael.

"So you only got her a dress or did you find something for yourself too ?" Michael asked, with a smirk.

"Why should I tell you when you hold secrets from me." she quipped.

"mama find a dress, is look beautiful and is cry." Faith revealed to her father, never keeping anything from him. Sara called her daddy's radio reporter.

Michael kissed her forehead, lovingly. "Mama cried ?" Michael turned to Sara.

She looked down. "A little bit." she said softly.

"No she cry a lot." Faith said and squealed as Sara tapped her head playfully. "Faith ! go wash your hands, we're still in a pandemic young girl." Sara pulled her down from Michael's lap and Faith obeyed, paddling off to the bathroom.

"You cried a lot.." Michael held a hand to her face, Sara leaned in his touch.

"I didn't knew how much I needed this, thank you so much Michael." She let out genuinely.

"I know, I am smart." He quipped proudly. "I am glad you felt good."

"I can't wait now." she smiled, then embraced him, resting her head on his head. "love you." she whispered.

"I can't wait either, to see you all happy like you are, and to start something new." He kissed the top of her head.

She chuckled. "Right now it's more like the begining of our old boring days. We've done anything and everything new possible." she teased.

"talk about yourself, I am still young, got a lot of experiences to have. you just feel your age every 3 days." he teased and she repeated the tapping she had done to Faith's head on his, closing her eyes against him. She was happy right now.

.....

"You look so gorgeous." Heather said fixing the last pin on Sara's semi-open hair.

Sara breathed with a nervous smile. "Thanks." She grinned looking back at Heather.

"It's so good to see you smile and be this happy, this is what I've always wanted for you." She placed a hand on Sara's shoulder and Sara nodded.

Heather was her witness when she married Jacob, Sara knew her since as soon as they had moved to New York, when Mike was four. She got married to Jacob some eleven months later.

"You know I remember the Sara who married Jacob." She let out, Sara looked down. "You were so...anxious and almost depressed that day ? This Sara is nothing like her. I mean, I know it's not like Michael is new and that you don't already share a family, but seeing you as a bride, and happy like this, this is what I have always wanted since that day. It saddened me to know inside, how unhappy you were marrying Jacob."

"I didn't love him...Michael was on my mind all day, and Lincoln didn't come. And I felt horrible." Sara sighed.

"I know. I didn't say it to remind you of all that or make you sad, look at yourself today, even mentionning Jacob isn't enough to wipe that joy off your face." Heather smiled and Sara grinned back.

.......

"How did you feel when you first married mom ?" Mike asked as Sucre fixed Michael's sleeve buttons.

"Papi stop moving.." He struggled.

"He was scared as a mouse." Lincoln let out, observing, hands on his hips.

Mike laughed and Michael stared at Lincoln.

"I wasn't scared. I was just... really nervous." Michael admitted.

"Why ? Did you have doubts, like how did you knew that she was the one ?" Mike asked curiously.

"On your mom ? No, I had no doubts on her, I just knew she was the one. I had doubts about myself, if I could be enough for her, if I was a good husband, if I would be a good dad." Michael smiled at him.

"So you were intimidated by her ?" Mike asked. "I know boys get scared of girls when they like them." He said simply.

Sucre and Lincoln laughed.

"No, I wasn't intimidated, not when we got married. I loved her so much by then, we were so involved...that marriage was just symbolic, we already were together." Michael explained as best as he could.

"You sure as hell didn't wait for marriage to knock her up." Sucre said lowly fixing the back of his collar and Michael stared at him coughing.

"Your mom wasn't that bossy back then kiddo, now that I recall she was even sweet." Lincoln sheugged.

"Sara isn't bossy." Michael said in her defense.

"She has you all in her control, who refuses a week end to Vegas ?" Lincoln grumbled.

Michael chuckled and rolled his eyes. "I look like the Vegas type to you ? And Sara was newly pregnant with Faith, I didn't want to leave her alone." Again, Michael added in his mind.

"See." Lincoln sighed and Sucre laughed.

"Mom is the boss in the house, she decides everything." Mike admitted.

"You all are speaking behind the back of my bride on my wedding day, really ?" Michael raised his eyes. "And you, Michael Scofield, respect your mother.  Obey her and make her happy always." Michael instructed to Mike who laughed.

"We're just teasing you Mike, I can't believe you're this touchy about her." Lincoln groaned.

"Here, ready ?" Sucre finished tying the tie.

Michael looked at himself in the mirror and smiled. "Yes. I am just happy today, I am not nervous." he admitted.

"Get up mama's boy." Lincoln said to Mike and Mike moved, giving him the brooch he held, Michael placed the origami swan brooch next to his collar.

"You look great man." Sucre said with a grin.

"Mom will love it. You're matching her tatoo." Mike smiled.

Michael smiled. "I know she will."

.........

"I got her ready!" Maricruz said with Faith running ahead of her.

"Mama look." she said excited.

Sara turned and bent to her level. "You look beautiful sweetheart, you're so big, I can't believe how fast you're growing." Sara stroke the red curls that framed the toddler's face.

"Blink and you're going to see her all big, as a bride herself." Heather commented.

Sara's eyes widened. "I am not ready for that at all, she's my baby girl." Sara kissed her tiny hand.

"She is a daddy's girl my god.." Maricruz told Heather. "Think dada is will be ready to share you Faith ?" She asked.

Faith frowned. "Dada is mama's." she said firmly and three women laughed.

"I was talking about sharing you, not sharing your dad.." Maricruz laughed.

"Damn, that's a good daughter you got there Sara, she will watch out for ya." Heather chuckled.

"Dada your husband ?" Faith turned to her mother confused. She made such an upset face that Sara's heart melted.

"Yes, yes, dada's my husband and he is only marrying me." Sara promised, holding her.

"No sharing ?" Sara chuckled at how confused she sounded, she hoped she wouldn't cry, surely she could feel this was a big event ?

"There is only one girl in the world I share dada with, and that's you." Sara smiled at her.

.......

Sara was walked outside, down the aisle, with Heather Maricruz and Faith holding a flower batch, letting some fall behind her.

Michael grinned as she reached his level. "You look beautiful." He let out seemingly overwhelmed.

Sara was sure her jaw would hurt from how much she was smiling. "Thank you. You too, dyed your hair ?" she commented looking at his cropped hair and he smiled.

"You dyed your white roots too." He whispered and she smiled.

"So shall we begin ?" The officer asked them and Sara grinned as Michael held out his hands and she placed hers in him.

She was taken back to almost 11 years ago, and she realised she didn't at all felt as nervous as she did the first time. It just sent her a painful punch in the heart that most of those 11 years were spent apart from him.

"Yes." she squeezed his hands tighter with a fond smile.

Michael couldn't believe how beautiful she looked, and how happy she was. It was exactly to see this happiness on her face that he'd done this, and as he held her hands, he couldn't help feeling inadequate. He hadn't respected their wedding vows, he had left her alone. She deserved so much better, and he hoped this time, nothing would come between them, as she'd once said.

"You may kiss the bride." The officer qaid once they'd said yes to each other.

Michael smiled, and Sara smiled back shily, leaning in and both kissed softly, under the applause of their guests.

Sara turned to Mike who stood beside her and hugged him, as Michael bent to pick Faith up in his arms.

"I happy." Faith kissed his cheek and Michael laughed. "I think mama's happy too." He looked over at Sara with a look of such pure love, she could melt. She held Mike next to her and smiled leaning into Michael. "I am, I am so happy right now." she grinned.

"I have something for you." Michael handed her an enveloppe, from his pocket.

Sara looked on. "Wedding gift." He said looking at her surprised face.

"But...I didn't get you anything." She shook her head, feeling at loss.

"You gave me these two." He grinned.

Sara chuckled and smiled. "I thought they were in your package." She quipped.

"Mike's always been in yours, and Faith changes sides as much as she blinks." he teased kissing his daughter's forehead and Sara laughed.

"Open it now." Maricruz suggested.

"I'll do it later, let's celebrate." She grinned.

Michael held her forearm. "Open it now." He pressed.

Sara frowned, opening the enveloppe.  She gasped, her eyes widening.

"Michael no way, Venise ? Right now ?" she held a hand to her forehead and everyone laughed, some awing at her reaction.

He grinned. "Just two days, you and me." He grinned, holding her forearm, and removing her hand from her awestruck face.

"I..don't know, we have guests, we just got married !" She laughed absolutely shocked.

"You travel bag is upstairs Sara, you got 30 minutes." Heather placed a hand on her back.

"Oh my god, this was planned.." she realised looking at the crowd. "You all knew ?" She exclaimed.

"I am just asking you to run away in the sunset with me." Michael smiled.

She laughed shaking her head in disbelief. "What about the children ?" she asked.

"We're staying at Lila's, and I'll take care of Faith. Don't worry mom, just go." Mike pushed and she looked at Michael, absolutely shocked.

"You might have some cake if you're quick." He teased grinning.

"And you're going like this ?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"I really feel like." He quipped and Sara grabbed his hand, dragging him inside and everyone laughed. "Put the music on, and start eating everybody."  She instructed.

"Michael ? How could you waste so much money.." she was cut.

"Don't even start, it's not everyday we're taking a little time for ourselves, it's just two days." He said and she bit her lips and grinned, laughing.

He smiled, stealing a kiss from her, she kissed him back, softly. "Okay, but you change too, or I'll be underdressed."

"It'll take me five minutes, and my bag is ready." He shrugged.

Sara sighed, rolling her eyes. He wasn't reading under the lines. "I was kind of hoping...that this time, you would be the one to remove my wedding dress." She whispered, almost blushing.

Michael laughed and grinned. "With more than 20 people inside the house and a flight in a couple of hours ? Bad idea." He hissed.

She sighed and he smiled. "Pack it with you, you'll wear it again and then we can just...improvise." He smirked and she smiled, nodding and going up the stairs.

"Sara ?" He called out. "Yeah ?" She said almost upstairs. "Love you." He let out and heard her laugh echoing in the empty house, to his heart's joy. "I love you too!" She said back.
