That’s Mine!

Summary:

For Valentine's Day, Izuku decides to make two batches of chocolate for Katsuki and Rody. But when Izuku gives Rody his chocolate, he doesn’t expect a certain blond to get pissed off about it.

Notes:

Hello, hello! So, here’s one of two Valentine’s Day one-shots that I’ll be posting today (hopes fully the second one will get posted before the day is over). It’s pretty fluffy and who doesn’t like reading fluff on Valentine’s Day?

This is my second time writing Rody, the first time being in a Twitter thread I wrote a while back. I tried my best to keep him in character, but if he does seem OOC, then I apologize. Also, I did some research on Pino and I found out that Pino is referred to as a female? Idk if that’s right or not *shrugs*

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading this! Let me know what you think in the comments section below :D

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Izuku sighed loudly as he discarded yet another batch of ruined chocolate.

“This is so upsetting! I knew that making chocolate would be hard, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this hard…!” he complained.

He slumped over the island kitchen counter in the home they were currently renting for a few days. He huffed, some of his curly bangs flying up with the notion.

I hate this. Maybe I should give up on making the chocolate, after all—

“Midoriya?”

Izuku snapped his head up at the voice and immediately, a wide smile spread across his lips.

“Todoroki-kun!” he greeted.

Shouto nodded in response as he walked further into the kitchen. He observed the mess of chocolate wrappers, saucepans, and utensils scattered around before redirecting his gaze to Izuku.

“Should I assume that it’s not going well? Making the chocolate, that is,” Shouto stated.

“Yeah…The video I was referencing to made it look so easy, but I think I missed a step. Or two. Or maybe every single step,” Izuku told him with a halfhearted laugh.

Shouto’s brows knitted at the nearly dejected tone of Izuku’s voice. The greenette paid no mind to it as he looked down at the granite countertop, a light smear of chocolate along with a dusting of ground chili pepper staring back at him.

“I don’t know what I was thinking, making chocolate for Rody and Kacchan. It’s way too difficult. Maybe I shouldn’t do it, after all. The only thing that’s going to happen is that I’m going to mess it up even more and that’ll just go to show how much of a failure I am—“

“Midoriya.”

A light rapping sound on the counter abruptly cut off his rambling. Izuku looked up to see Shouto standing across from him, leaning against the island with his hands clasped in front of him.

“You’re not a failure. This is normal for someone who’s making chocolate for the first time. You’re not going to be great at it right away, it’s a lot of trial and error. So, don’t ever say those kinds of things,” Shouto said.

“Todoroki-kun…” Izuku trailed off.

Shouto offered him a small smile before pushing himself off of the counter and heading towards the pantry.

“I’ll help you. I have a little bit of experience from when I made some with Momo to hand out to the class last year,” he suggested.

“Oh, you don’t have to do that, Todoroki-kun!” Izuku exclaimed as he pushed himself off of the counter as well and stared at his friend in surprise.

“I’m doing it because I want to, Midoriya. Besides, making chocolate is more fun when you’re doing it with a friend,” Shouto stated.

He emerged from the pantry moments later wearing a simple light blue apron. Rolling his shirt sleeves up, he went to stand beside Izuku.

“Where do we start?” he asked.

“So, we need to chop up the chocolate and set it aside in a heatproof bowl…” Izuku began, pointing at the ingredients and equipment that they needed.

They made light conversation as they worked, scalding the heavy cream in a saucepan and whisking the chocolate and cream together. Shouto’s brows shot up to his hairline when he saw Izuku add some ground chili pepper into one of the batches of chocolate.

“Ground chili pepper?” he questioned, eyeing the greenette in shock.

“Yeah. Since Kacchan likes spicy food, I’m adding a little bit in it. Plus, it pairs really well with dark chocolate, which works out well because Kacchan doesn’t like sweet stuff,” Izuku explained.

“Huh. Then again, people put the weirdest things in chocolate, so I shouldn’t be surprised,” Shouto commented. Then, he directed his gaze to the bowl of chocolate that he had before him. “And what about Rody’s chocolate?”

“Oh, Rody’s? I’m not really doing anything special. He told me that he’s not really fond of fancy chocolates like chocolates with spice or fruits, so it’s just plain milk chocolate,” Izuku answered.

“I see…” he trailed off.

He shifted his gaze to the bowl that contained the spiced dark chocolate mixture in Izuku’s bowl and then up at the greenette, who smiled softly as he finished blending the chili pepper into the chocolate.

“Do you plan on confessing to him this time?” he inquired.

Izuku choked on his spit at the two-toned haired male’s question. A heated blush spread across his cheeks like wildfire and rushed up to his ears as he started sputtering.

“Wh-Wh-Wh-What?! Confess to who?! I have no idea what you’re talking about, Todoroki-kun!”

“You know exactly who I’m talking about, Midoriya. It’s Bakugou, isn’t it?”

Izuku let out a terrified squeak as he hid his face behind his hands. He peeked at Shouto from in between his fingers. “Is it really that obvious…?”

“It is. Outside of Bakugou, everyone can tell that you have feelings for him,” Shouto stated with the nod of his head.

Izuku groaned loudly, his cheeks growing hotter.

“I can’t believe it…” he muttered against his palms.

“It’s alright, Midoriya. Having a crush on someone isn’t something to be embarrassed about,” Shouto reassured him.

“I know…that doesn’t mean that I don’t feel flustered by the fact that everyone outside of Kacchan knows about my crush on him,” he mumbled.

“Don’t let it get to you too much.” Shouto nodded his head in the direction of the bowls of chocolate. “Maybe we should get back to the chocolate.”

“Oh! Y-Yeah, of course!” Izuku stammered out as he fumbled for the whisk, taking it back in his hand and he began whisking the chocolate some more.

They resumed chatting about other things outside of Izuku’s obvious crush on Katsuki. At one point, some of the chocolate was splattered on Shouto’s cheek and Izuku laughed while going to grab a napkin and help him wipe it off.

Eventually, they finished with the chocolate and poured them into silicone molds before putting them in the fridge.

“Finally, it’s finished!” Izuku declared.

He stretched his arms over his head as Shouto spoke.

“Well, we still have to do the dishes. We can’t exactly leave them out here before Bakugou sees them.” He motioned to the mess of bowls and utensils. Izuku’s lips formed into a small ‘o.’

“Yeah, we should do that,” he said.

They moved the bowls and utensils to the sink and they started washing them. They settled into a steady rhythm with Shouto washing them and handing them to Izuku, who proceeded to dry them.

As Izuku finished drying the last bowl, the door opened and closed. Izuku smiled widely.

“Kacchan! You’re back!” he called out, practically buzzing with excitement as the blond responded with a grunt of acknowledgement.

The blond entered the living area soon after. He looked around until his eyes locked on Izuku and Shouto in the kitchen. His nose scrunched up.

“The fuck are you two in the kitchen for?” he asked.

“Oh! Um…Todoroki-kun and I were looking for a snack in the kitchen!” Izuku said, the words flying out of his mouth quickly.

“We didn’t find anything in particular that we’d like to eat, though,” Shouto added.

“Oh?” Katsuki arched his brow at the answers. Then, he narrowed his eyes as they locked on something. “What is that on your cheek, Deku?”

“Huh? On my cheek?” Izuku questioned, blinking his eyes twice at the blond’s question.

“Yeah. Left cheek,” Katsuki told himself, pointing at his left cheek for emphasis.

Izuku brought his hand up to his cheek and wiped it lightly. He brought his hand back to look at it and he paled.

Oh god. I have chocolate smeared across my cheek! I guess I missed a spot, he mentally scolded himself for the slip up.

“Oh! Y-You’re right, there  was something on my cheek! Nice catch, Kacchan!” he said, laughing nervously.

The suspicious look stayed on Katsuki’s face. Crimson eyes observed him, as if he were analyzing a rare specimen. Eventually, he sighed.

“Whatever. It’s none of my business,” Katsuki grumbled as he entered the kitchen.

He went into the pantry and pulled out a bag of extra spicy chips, tearing it open. As he munched on one, Izuku spoke.

“So, how was your bonding time with Rody today?”

“Like fuck it was bonding time. It was just me and a damn extra walking around the town.” Katsuki clicked his teeth as he scowled.

“Kacchan, Rody is not an extra,” Izuku chided, crossing his arms over his chest.

“To me, he’s an extra,” Katsuki shot back.

“He is not.”

“Yes, he is.”

“No, he’s not.”

“Yes, he is.”

“No, he’s not, Kacchan!”

“Yes, he is! He is a damn extra and you know it, shitty Deku!”

Izuku opened his mouth to continue pushing the argument, but he snapped it shut. When it came to conversations like these, they would continue talking until Izuku gave up and let the blond have the last say.

“Okay, fine. I can’t win when we have conversations like this, anyway,” Izuku said with a small sigh.

A snort was Katsuki’s response. His gaze lingered for a couple more minutes before he clicked his teeth

“You two can go back to whatever it is you two were doing. I’m going to go read a book,” he told them.

He started walking off, but then stopped. He turned, narrowing his eyes at them once more.

“If you two were flirting in there, go and do it somewhere else. Don’t do it out in the open where people can see you, fucking dumbasses,” he sneered.

Izuku gawked at the blond’s remark.

“What?! Todoroki-kun and I were not flirting! We were just looking for something to eat, Kacchan…!” he whined.

Actually, I try my best to flirt with you, but you’re so oblivious that it isn’t even working! He released a huffy sigh as he crossed his arms over his chest and pouted.

The door to Katsuki’s bedroom in the vacation home closed soon after. Izuku sighed loudly.

“What even gave him the idea that we were flirting?!” he shouted.

“Who knows.” Shouto shrugged. “Maybe it’s because we’re in the kitchen and that we’re standing close to each other.”

“That doesn’t even make sense! Stupid Kacchan…” Izuku mumbled.

Shouto didn’t say anything, his gaze lingering on the greenette for a few moments. Then, he glanced back at the fridge.

“There’s some mochi in the freezer. Do you want to eat that with me?” he asked.

“Yeah, sure! Now that you brought it up, I’m kinda craving some,” Izuku admitted with a small laugh.

“It’s gonna have to thaw out, though,” Shouto pointed out.

“That’s fine! We can just watch something in the meantime,” Izuku said.

Shouto nodded before heading over to the fridge and opening the freezer. Taking the mochi out, he set it on the counter. Izuku walked over and observed the box. Then, he smiled widely.

“This one has strawberry mochi!” Izuku exclaimed.

“It does.” Shouto opened the box and set the cover aside. “It was a good idea to buy the variety pack.”

“It was,” Izuku agreed.

They headed out of the kitchen and sat down on the couch.

“Is there anything in particular that you want to watch, Midoriya?” Shouto asked as he grabbed the remote and turned on the TV.

“Not really, you can choose whatever you want. I'm willing to watch anything,” Izuku replied.

“Alright then,” Shouto said.

He flicked through the channels until he stopped at a documentary on whales. They relaxed on the couch and started watching it. At one point, Izuku found himself resting his head on Shouto’s lap. The two toned haired male didn’t say anything about it, letting the greenette do as he pleased.

As he continued watching the documentary, his mind started drifting to Katsuki unknowingly.

Seriously, what was up with Kacchan earlier? Why would he think Todoroki-kun and I were flirting? It doesn’t make sense at all. Unless… Izuku shooed the thought away once he realized he was thinking about the blond. Izuku, come on! Stop thinking about him! Just watch the documentary.

Izuku resumed tuning in to the documentary. However, no matter how hard he tried to distract himself, his thoughts kept circling back to Katsuki.

Before Izuku knew it, tomorrow arrived. And with it, Valentine's Day, as well.

Giddiness welled up within Izuku as he placed the chocolates he made into their respective bags. He tied them with a gold string, a heart tag dangling from each one.

“And they’re done…” he trailed off.

They managed to turn out okay! Todoroki-kun was such a good help, he thought to himself.

“Oi, you damn nerd! Are you done or not?! We gotta head out now!”

“I’m coming, Kacchan!”

Izuku quickly put the bags of chocolate in his yellow backpack and he rushed over to meet Katsuki in the entryway. When Katsuki turned to look at him, he clicked his teeth.

“You just like to make people late, don’t you? Slow as fuck asshole…” he grumbled.

“Well, I’m sorry that I had to make sure that I have everything before we leave,” Izuku retorted as he put on the backpack.

“Oi, don’t get snappy with me, Deku,” Katsuki barked.

He turned away and Izuku took that moment to stick his tongue at him. He was tempted to blow a raspberry, but he knew that Katsuki would come after him for it and then they’d never leave the house.

“Let’s get going already. Half and Half decided that today was a good day to start heading off without us,” Katsuki said gruffly.

“He did?!” Izuku exclaimed.

“Damn right he did! You see, this is because you’re slow as fuck. Even Half and Half got tired of waiting for your nerdy ass,” Katsuki snapped.

“I told you I’m sorry!” Izuku whined as they headed out of the house.

They walked side by side to their destination. At one point, they engaged in some playful banter. Izuku kicked him lightly, to which Katsuki retaliated with a shove. Izuku laughed and he could see the corners of Katsuki’s lips quirk up in a small smile.

Eventually they arrived at the top of a grassy hill, which overlooked the town and sparkling turquoise sea. Izuku looked around for a moment before smiling.

“Todoroki-kun! Rody!” he called out, waving wildly at them.

They stopped their task in laying out the red and white checkered picnic blanket and turned to look at Izuku and Katsuki.

“Oh, you’re here,” Shouto commented with a small wave.

“Yo, Deku,” Rody greeted as he brought his arms behind his head, his posture very laid back. Then, his gaze flicked over to Izuku’s left and he sneered. “Oh, and then there’s Bakugou. I had no idea you’d show up, too.”

Katsuki snarled. “What did you just say, you little fucker…?!”

He began stalking over to him, sparks popping in his hands as a warning to not test him. Before he could pounce on him, Izuku grabbed his arm and yanked him back.

“Kacchan, play nice!” Izuku chided. Then, he looked at Rody. “And don’t provoke him, Rody.”

“I wasn’t provoking him, though. All I said was that he’s here, too,” Rody pointed out with the shrug of his shoulders.

“Like fuck you did—“

Kacchan. Stop it. Go and help Todoroki-kun with unpacking the basket.”

Katsuki opened his mouth to say more, but snapped it shut when Izuku narrowed his eyes. He clicked his teeth loudly before marching in Shouto’s direction.

Izuku turned to speak to Rody, but stopped when a laughing Pino caught his eye. He furrowed his brows.

“Rody, I hope you know that that wasn’t funny.”

“Sorry, sorry. It’s just fun to rile him up.”

“You have a death wish, don’t you?”

“Hm, maybe?”

Izuku rolled his eyes at his response and they started walking to where Katsuki and Shouto were, the two of them cross legged on the blanket. As Izuku’s eyes locked on Shouto, a thought hit him.

“Oh yeah! Todoroki-kun, why did you go ahead of us? Kacchan didn’t tell me why,” he inquired as he dropped down onto the blanket across from the two toned-haired male.

“Oh, that? Bakugou told me to go ahead of you guys. He said he was going to wait for you so that the two of you could walk here together,” Shouto explained.

“Wait, really?!” Izuku gawked as he whipped his head to the left to stare at the blond in astonishment. “Was that why, Kacchan?”

“Hah?! Like fuck I said that!” Katsuki snarled. Then, he locked eyes with Shouto. “You must be deaf if you think that I said that.”

“I’m not deaf, though,” Shouto commented with a small shrug as he took out some of the bento boxes that were inside of the basket.

“Yes, you fucking are! Also,” Katsuki gestured to the hat that Shouto wore. “why the fuck are you wearing a straw hat?!”

“Because I wanted to.” Shouto tugged on the brim of the hat. “What, it is a crime to wear one?”

“It is when it clashes with the rest of your clothes! You look like a fucking walking fashion disaster; even Deku has a better fashion sense than you!”

“Okay, Kacchan, calm down!” Izuku let out an exasperated sigh. “We came out here to have a nice picnic, not bicker with each other. So, play nice.”

Katsuki responded with an aggravated huff before helping Shouto take out the rest of the items in the basket. Once everything was set out on the blanket, they began opening the containers. Izuku’s eyes sparkled.

“Everything looks so good! Kacchan, you really outdid yourself!” he gushed.

“Bakugou made this?” Rody raised his brows as he looked at the array of food set out on the blanket.

“He did! When it comes to cooking, he’s the best,” Izuku told him.

“Hm…it’s not bad,” Rody commented.

Katsuki said nothing as he started handing everyone plates and chopsticks. Soon after, they dished out food onto their plates and started eating. Izuku moaned in delight when he popped a tamagoyaki piece in his mouth.

“Ish schoo good, Kacchan!” he gushed in between bites. “Everything you made ish schoo good. Yu’re schuch a good schef!”

“Oi, do your flattering when your mouth is empty,” Katsuki barked as he poked his cheek with his chopstick.

“Hey!” Izuku whined as he swallowed.

“Yeah, this isn’t bad. It tastes pretty good, Bakugou,” Rody commented.

“Of course it tastes good. I’m the best when it comes to cooking,” Katsuki declared triumphantly.

“Bakugou, your ego is starting to show,” Shouto pointed out as he started nibbling on a salmon onigiri.

“Shut the fuck up and eat your goddamn food, Half and Half,” Katsuki snapped as he shoved a piece of teriyaki chicken into his mouth.

They started talking about various subjects as they ate. At one point, Izuku had to stop Katsuki from attacking Rody due to a comment he made. Pino shot a smug look at the blond, which made him try and lunge at Rody again, but Izuku restrained him using Blackwhip and chided him for acting that way towards him.

Eventually, they finished eating and Izuku put everything back into the basket with Shouto’s assistance. When that was done, Shouto went to walk around with Katsuki following soon after, leaving Izuku and Rody by themselves.

A wide smile spread across Izuku’s lips as a light wind ruffled his hair.

“It’s nice out today!” he commented.

“It is. The view from here is great, too,” Rody said.

“It really is.” Izuku’s smile widened as he looked at the town below and the sparkling ocean.

The sound of birds chirping reached his ears as they flew over their heads and made their way down. Another light wind rushed through his hair as Izuku looked at Rody, whose gaze was still on the view of the town and ocean.

“You know, I wasn’t expecting to go on a picnic on Valentine’s Day,” Rody noted.

“Really?” Izuku blinked at him curiously. “What were you expecting to do on Valentine’s Day?”

“Eh, nothing much. Just relaxing at home, I suppose,” Rody replied with a small shrug.

“I see—“ Izuku sucked in a sharp gasp as realization hit him. “Oh, I almost forgot!”

“Almost forgot what?” Rody questioned, shifting his gaze so that it was on him as he grabbed his bag and unzipped him. Then, he pulled the two bags of chocolate out.

“These! I made chocolates yesterday and this one's for you!” Izuku chirped as he picked up the one meant for Rody and handed it to him.

“Really? Well, thanks,” Rody said as he took the chocolates from him. He looked at the tag before opening the bag. “I’m going to assume that this is friendship chocolate.”

“It is,” Izuku replied.

Rody’s gaze flicked over to the second bag beside the greenette. “And I’m going to assume that that one’s for Bakugou.”

“Huh? Oh…yeah, it is,” Izuku admitted, his cheeks burning a little.

“Figured as much.” Rody redirected his gaze to his bag. “How come you haven’t given him his yet? I thought you would’ve done that before giving me mine.”

“I guess I’m just nervous, that’s all. I mean, I’ve known Kacchan for almost all of my life and I’m afraid that if I confess my feelings to him, then we might ruin what we tried so hard to rebuild. I’m sure I told you about what happened between us,” Izuku explained.

“Yeah, you did,” Rody replied. He stretched his legs out and leaned back a little, placing his hands on either side of him as he looked at the greenette with a hint of seriousness in his expression. “Look, Deku. I’m not sure if you’re acting as if you don’t know or if you’re just very oblivious, but—“

Suddenly, Rody stopped talking. He looked over Izuku’s shoulder and arched his brow. However, Pino smirked.

“Huh? Rody, what are you—“ Izuku started turning his head, but stopped when Rody began snapping his fingers.

“Nah ah ah, eyes on me, Deku,” Rody instructed.

Izuku looked back, arching his brow in confusion. “Why was Pino smiling like that?”

“Oh, no apparent reason. But anyway,” Rody began, leaning forward and reaching out to Izuku. “The wind seems to be picking up a little. Your curls are flying everywhere .”

He tucked a curl behind Izuku’s ear and the greenette sucked in a small gasp, a blush spreading across his cheeks.

“Rody…!” Izuku squeaked.

Rody chuckled. “What? I’m just pushing back some of your curls because they’re getting in your face. We don’t want them to hide your pretty face, now do we?”

His last comment made Izuku even more flustered. The blush rushed up to his ears as he brought his bottom lip in between his teeth and started gnawing on it lightly. Then, Rody brushed his thumb over Izuku’s cheek.

“R-Rody…what are you doing…?” Izuku mumbled.

“Sorry, I saw something on your cheek, so I was trying to get rid of it,” Rody replied.

His gaze flicked back to what he was staring at before and this time, the smug smirk that Pino had on her face appeared on his. This served to puzzle him even more.

What in the world are Pino and Rody looking at? he silently wondered.

He began turning his head again only for Rody to grab his chin and turn his head back so that their eyes met.

“Hey now, I told you to keep those pretty eyes on me, didn’t I?” he asked.

At this point, Izuku swore that he was going to spontaneously combust. Once Rody released his chin, he immediately hid his face from view.

“Rody…! Why do you keep flirting with me?!”

“Me? Flirting with you? I wasn’t doing that.”

“But—!”

Izuku huffed in defeat as he lowered his hands in favor of crossing his arms over his chest, puffing his cheeks out and curling his bottom lip up. It made Rody chuckle.

Then, his eyes fell on the bag of chocolates. There was a mischievous glint in his eyes as he picked it up.

“Wow, thanks for the chocolate, Deku!” he spoke in a loud, obnoxious voice, almost as if he wanted someone to hear him. “You’re so sweet!”

The lazy drawl in his voice coupled with the wink he shot him was enough to fluster the greenette all over again. He looked at Rody, silently begging him to stop. But, he pushed on.

“Hm, I think it’s time to try them. They’ll probably taste very good, since it’s you who made them, Deku,” he said as he grabbed the bag.

Undoing the string and opening the bag, he took out a heart-shaped chocolate and began to bring it towards his mouth. What happened next seemed to occur in slow motion.

Katsuki appeared in his peripheral view and he sat down on the blanket with them. He grabbed Rody’s wrist and pulled it towards him before eating the chocolate in between his fingers.

“Wha—?!” Izuku gawked at the blond and Rody blinked at the blond in bewilderment.

“Kacchan!” Izuku exclaimed in horror.

Katsuki finished chewing and swallowed the chocolate, shooting daggers at Rody.

“What the fuck were you about to eat?” he growled.

“Chocolate,” Rody replied innocently. Pino, however, had a devilish expression on her face. Izuku quickly came to the conclusion that Rody was egging the blond on again . “Why? Does me eating chocolate bother you?”

“It does when the chocolate’s made by Deku! Who the hell do you think you are?” Katsuki hissed.

“I don’t get why your panties are twisting themselves into a gazillion knots, but Deku made these chocolates for me. So, I have every right to eat it,” Rody pointed out.

A few seconds ticked by before a wicked smile crossed Rody’s lips.

“Unless…you’re jealous?”

“Hah?! Like fuck I’m jealous, you fucking piece of shit…!

“Oh, you’re definitely jealous. Are you upset that Deku didn’t make any for you?”

“You fucker…!”

Katsuki’s gaze snapped to the bag of chocolates in Rody’s hand. Then, he quickly snatched it.

“This is mine now. Don’t you even dream of taking this from me,” the blond snapped.

He stood and marched off. Immediately, Izuku shot up from the blanket.

“Kacchan, where are you going?!” he shouted.

He got ready to run after him when Rody stopped him. Izuku turned as he threw the other bag of chocolates in his direction. He quickly caught it, shooting Rody a questioning look.

“This is your chance, Deku. Give him these and tell him how you feel about him so that he’d stop acting all grumpy,” Rody told him. Then, he gave him a thumbs up. “You got this! I believe in you!”

Izuku smiled.

“Thank you, Rody,” he said. Then, he ran after Katsuki.

“Kacchan! Kacchan, wait up!” he shouted.

He kept going until the blond was within reach. He grabbed his arm.

“Kacchan—“

“What the fuck do you want?!” Katsuki growled, yanking his arm out of Izuku’s hand and turning on his heel to face him.

“I just want to talk, Kacchan,” Izuku answered.

“Talk? About what?” Katsuki asked.

“About what just happened. Why would you take Rody’s chocolate like that? That’s not very nice of you,” Izuku pointed out.

Katsuki huffed out an annoyed sigh. “Like I give a shit about whether I’m nice or not to that irritating fucker.”

Izuku opened his mouth to retort, but he snapped it shut. Instead, he took this time to observe the blond. From the way he clenched his jaw and how he crossed his arms over his chest as he averted his eyes, he noted that something was amiss.

Something doesn’t feel right. Kacchan never does something or reacts in a certain way without a reason behind it. There must be a reason why he’s acting like this, he thought to himself.

“Kacchan…is there something wrong?” he asked.

“What?” Katsuki flicked his gaze over to him, arching his brow.

“There must be something more going on here. You don’t get worked up without a reason. So, tell me what’s going on,” Izuku told him.

“I don’t know what your nerdy ass is on, but there is nothing wrong,” Katsuki bit out.

“Yes, there is. I’ve known you long enough to know that. So, tell me,” Izuku tried again.

“I just said that nothing’s wrong, fucking dumbass.” Katsuki looked away once more.

Izuku chewed on his bottom lip as he continued to look at the blond.

He was going to get the truth out of him if it was the last thing he did.

“Kacchan, look at me,” he requested.

Katsuki didn’t respond.

“Look at me,” he tried again.

Katsuki kept quiet. Izuku released a soft sigh before walking towards him.

“Kacchan, please—“ Izuku grabbed him and began to turn him around so that he’d face him. His response was an aggravated snarl as Katsuki pulled away, acting as if the greenette’s touch burned him.

“Why the fuck do you keep harassing me?!”

“I’m not harassing you! I just want you to tell me what’s wrong because I know that there is something wrong.”

“It fucking sounds like you are! Also, I already told you that there is nothing wrong!”

“Then, look at me and say it! Why won’t you do that?!” Izuku placed his hands on his hips. “Look, until you tell me what’s bothering you, then—“

“Can you just shut the fuck up, shitty Deku?!”

Katsuki finally looked at him, fury flickering in his eyes like a flame.

“So what if I’m annoyed by the fact that you gave that shitty extra Valentine's chocolates?! That’s none of your business!” he roared.

Izuku flinched a little, taken aback by the blond’s sudden outburst. A few seconds passed before Izuku managed to comprehend what Katsuki said. His eyes widened in surprise.

“So you were jealous.” The words hung in the air above them once they left Izuku’s lips.

Katsuki arched his brow, peering at the greenette in confusion. A couple of minutes ticked by before a bright red blush exploded on his cheeks.

Hah?! Didn’t I already say that I wasn’t fucking jealous?!”

“You literally just admitted that you were! The wording is different, but it’s still the same thing!”

“You should clean your fucking ears out because I did not fucking say that!”

“Kacchan…!”

Izuku huffed in annoyance as he crossed his arms over his chest.

I just can’t win when it comes to him, he thought to himself.

He was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard Katsuki scoff.

“Well, it’s not like I give a shit about what you do.” Katsuki eyed the bag of chocolates in his hand. “Were you confessing to him or something?”

Huh?! ” Izuku gawked at the blond in disbelief.

Where in the world did that come from?!

“I was not confessing to Rody!” he exclaimed.

“Really? Could’ve fooled me,” Katsuki stated.

“Just because I gave him chocolate doesn’t mean that I was confessing to him! Besides, that was friendship chocolate!” Izuku shouted.

“Oh, please. I see the way you look at him. You obviously like him, Deku,” Katsuki said with a roll of his eyes.

“I don’t like Rody in that way! He’s just a friend to me.” Izuku gripped the other bag of chocolate that was behind his back tightly. “Besides, I like someone else.”

Katsuki’s perked up at the greenette’s last sentence. It was silent between them for a few moments before he broke it.

“You like someone else?” he parroted.

“I do,” Izuku admitted sheepishly.

He kicked the grass lightly with his foot.

Okay, I think it’s time to confess to him. The mood is right, so I should do it before it gets ruined, he silently decided.

He got ready to open his mouth when Katsuki beat him to it.

“Is it Half and Half?” he asked.

The mood shattered once Katsuki voiced his question. Izuku’s jaw nearly dropped.

“What?! No! I could never see him in that way!” he shouted in horror.

“Like fuck you don’t see him in that way! You two are always so damn close to each other. I even caught you two in the kitchen yesterday,” Katsuki pointed out.

“Kacchan, you’re not making any sense,” Izuku stated.

“I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense. The bottom line is that you are attracted to Half and Half and he’s attracted to you, too,” Katsuki shot back.

“I just said—!” Izuku was tempted to scream.

Why is Kacchan making these crazy assumptions?! I only see Rody and Todoroki-kun as friends. Kacchan, on the other hand…

He sighed, realizing that there was no use in telling Katsuki that he doesn’t see Rody and Shouto in a romantic sense.

Okay, you know what? If telling Kacchan that I see Rody and Todoroki-kun as friends won’t work, then I’ll just have to show him.

“Okay, let’s say that what you’re saying is true. Then, who the fuck do you even like—“

Izuku quickly brought the bag of chocolates out from behind his back and he pushed it against Katsuki’s chest. The action was enough to catch the blond off guard. He blinked down at the bag in surprise.

“What the fuck—“

“It’s you, Kacchan!”

Izuku’s heart pounded violently against his rib cage as his cheeks burned furiously, as if they were set alight. He could feel Katsuki stiffen against the palms of his hands.

“I like you, Kacchan,” he said, a little softer than before. His voice trembled from how nervous he was as he continued. “I…I have for a very long time. Heck, I can’t even tell you when specifically that I fell for you. I think I’ve always liked you. I just want you to know that I don’t have feelings for Todoroki-kun or Rody, it’s you that I have feelings for.”

His hands shook a little against Katsuki’s chest. The sound of his heartbeat in his ears was deafening; so deafening that he almost missed what Katsuki said.

“What’s with these chocolates? I don’t remember seeing this bag,” Katsuki commented.

“That’s because you were so busy zeroing in on Rody’s one that you didn’t see this one. I made two batches. The first one, which was friendship chocolate, was for Rody. As for this one…it’s more than that…” Izuku muttered the last sentence under his breath, quickly looking away.

He could feel Katsuki’s intense gaze on him, threatening to burn him from the inside out. He swallowed slowly.

Kacchan’s not saying anything…why isn’t he saying anything? Is he trying to find a way to turn me down without hurting my feelings? Then again, Kacchan isn’t one to sugarcoat things. He’s going to say it as it is. Izuku released a shaky breath. Okay, calm down, Izuku. Just take a deep breath and prepare yourself for the rejection.

He glanced at Katsuki briefly before looking away once more.

“O-Of course, you don’t have to accept it! I know you don’t like me back. I just wanted to let my feelings out, that’s all—“ He began to pull the chocolate away when a hand grabbed his wrist, stopping him.

“Oi, what the fuck do you think you’re doing?”

Izuku’s eyes snapped up to lock on Katsuki’s, shock rushing through his body. Katsuki’s gaze eventually shifted to the bag of chocolates.

“You said that this is mine, right? Why the fuck are you taking it back?”

“That’s…”

“Also, as for your confession, this is my answer.”

Izuku had little time to react before Katsuki grabbed his other wrist and yanked him forward, their lips connecting with each other. His eyes widened.

Wait…what is going on here? Is…Kacchan kissing me? Me?! This must be a dream. This has to be a dream! There’s no way Kacchan could be kissing me right now. He doesn’t even like me back! Okay, Izuku, as great as this dream is, it’s time to wake up—

“Oi, nerd.”

Izuku gasped softly as Katsuki broke the kiss. Narrowed red eyes stared at him as the blond rested his forehead against his own.

“For future reference, when someone kisses you, you kiss back. Also, another thing for future reference,” Katsuki began. Something akin to annoyance flickered in his eyes as he continued. “Don’t start assuming shit, especially when it comes to me.”

“Kacchan—“ Katsuki didn’t give Izuku any room to speak.

“Who are you to say that I don’t like you back? You don’t fucking know that. If I didn’t like you, I wouldn’t have kissed your sorry ass,” he hissed.

Izuku blinked, trying to comprehend what Katsuki said. Then, the words sunk in. The blush reappeared on his cheeks and this time, the blush rushed up to his ears and down his neck.

“W-W-Wait…Kacchan, you…!” Izuku started tripping over his words, failing to form a coherent sentence.

“What, do you need me to spell it out for you, shitnerd? I like you back, dumbass. And you better remember that! I ain’t gonna repeat myself,” Katsuki said.

Izuku’s blush deepened more as he lowered his gaze. “Kacchan, you’re…”

Way too straightforward, he mentally completed his sentence.

“Come on, Deku, you’ve known me long enough to know that I tend to be straightforward,” Katsuki pointed out.

Izuku let out a surprised squeak, realizing that he voiced his thoughts once more. He kept his gaze on the ground as the blond continued.

“By the way, that’s mine, isn’t it? Give that to me.” Izuku looked up as Katsuki released his wrists and grabbed the bag of chocolates out of his hand.

He watched as he undid the bow and opened the bag, taking a piece out. He bit into it and immediately, his face twisted up.

“God, you added a lot of chili pepper…” he said.

“I did?! Oh god, I’m so sorry. I knew I should’ve tasted it one more time—“

“It’s fine, Deku,” Katsuki told him as he took another bite out of the chocolate. “Besides, this is better compared to that loser extra’s chocolates. It’s so sweet that it makes me sick.”

Katsuki tossed the other bag in Izuku’s direction and he caught it with ease. He eyed the bag curiously.

“It is?” he questioned as he took a heart-shaped chocolate out and bit into it. His face scrunched up, as well. “Eugh. You’re right, it does taste too sweet.”

“It sounds like your taste buds are whack,” Katsuki commented.

“My taste buds are just fine, thank you very much,” Izuku shot back, crossing his arms over his chest. He pouted as Katsuki spoke.

“Here, maybe this will help offset the sweetness.”

Katsuki pulled him in for another kiss and this time, Izuku kissed him back. Katsuki’s hands sat on the greenette’s hips while Izuku’s arms were slung over his shoulders.

He tasted the light bitterness of the dark chocolate and the spiciness of the chili pepper on Katsuki’s lips as their mouths moved together in sync. The bitter and spicy flavor intermingling with the overly sweet milk chocolate tasted heavenly and Izuku wanted to continue indulging in it forever.

They broke the kiss soon after, pressing their foreheads together.

“Did that help?” Katsuki asked.

“It did.” Izuku smiled sheepishly. “But…now I want more.”

“You want more? What a greedy little nerd,” Katsuki teased before kissing him again.

This kiss was shorter than the previous one, the two of them pulling away moments later. However, Katsuki’s lips hovered over Izuku’s.

“You’re mine, Deku.”

“I know that, Kacchan.”

“I’m not letting anyone else have you.”

Izuku giggled as Katsuki kissed him once more. He smiled as he spoke against the blond’s lips.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
