Work Text:

Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom, there lived a beautiful young man with hair red as blood, lips red as rose, and skin white as snow. His name is Cale Henituse.

Every day, Cale drew water from the castle's well. Even though he was a prince, his wicked twin brother, Cale Barrow who had a childish title White Star, treated him like a servant. Cale was made to scrub the floors and clean the castle.

While he worked, Cale dreamed of his slacker life that would someday come when he runs away.

One day, a prince, hearing Cale's sweet song as he rode by, appeared inside the castle walls. He thought Cale was delightful when he conversed with Cale. Ever since then, they would meet on the exact same spot to talk to each other.

Inside the castle, the wicked twin, White Star, stood before his Magic Mirror. He asked the Spirit of the World Tree that resides inside the mirror, the same question he repeated every day, "Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the one loved by all?"

Instead of the answer he expected to hear, the World Tree named someone else - Cale Henituse!

The World Tree even had a look that says, 'Why are you asking something so obvious?'.

White Star flew into a jealous rage and summoned the only Duke of the kingdom to the royal throne room. There he told him to take Cale into the Forest of Darkness and kill him. Then he handed him a carved box. "Bring me back his heart in this!"

The Duke, Fredo von Ejellan, took the prince into the forest. But he did not have the heart to harm him. Instead, he told Cale of his twin's evil plan. "Runaway!" cried, Fredo. "Runaway, hide. Never come back!"

Cale ran deep into the forest, afraid for his life. The woods seemed strangely alive to him, and everywhere he turned, there was something terrifying. Finally, he collapsed, he is physically and mentally exhausted, he stayed like that for a while until he realized that he was surrounded by worried wind elementals and ancient ghosts. "Oh hello there," he said.

He asked the elementals and the ghosts if they knew where he could go. "I do need a place to sleep at night. Maybe you know where I can stay."

They led the prince to a clearing in the woods. There stood a majestic black castle. Cale walked up and knocked on the huge door.

"Hello," called Cale. "May I come in?"

There was no answer. Slowly, Cale pushed the door open and stepped inside. He could hardly believe his eyes. The inside of the castle was luxurious. Though he may add, the owner of the castle must not have some fashion sense.

He thought he should fix it as repayment. Luckily, he had his new friends to help him. In no time, the black castle was fixed.

Meanwhile, the Seven Dragons were on their way home after leaving for decades, well not for all of them. The two youngest, a pair of pink and black dragons, were excitedly talking about their new home. Upon arriving they noticed a presence upstairs. Little did they know that Cale was fast asleep.

They soon discovered him sleeping inside the grey dragon's room. The Dragons introduced themselves as Raon, Dodori, Rasheel, Eden, Eruhaben, Mila, and Sheritt. When they learned Cale's story, they invited him to stay.

Cale and the Seven Dragons got along very well.

Even Rasheel can help but took a liking to the kindhearted human.

They spent their evenings eating, dancing, and singing. Well, it was just Cale, Raon, and Dodori singing and dancing, while Rasheel and Eden plays the instruments. The others watch in amusement.

Cale felt at home and happy with his dear new friends.

Back at the Castle, the wicked White Star learned that his twin was still alive. Deep in his dark dungeon, he drank a magic potion that would change him into an old sickly man, that he knows Cale can't refuse.

Then he took an apple and dipped it into another potion. "One taste of the poisoned apple," he said "and Cale Henituse's eyes will close forever!"

Cale was happily sitting under the shade of a tree when an old man approached him.

"Resting?" asked the old man, holding out a shiny red apple.

"It's apples that complete the day. They do say, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Go on. Have a bite."

Cale was feeling parched which is why he accepted the apple from the old man. The wind elementals and ancient ghosts tried to come to Cale's rescue. They produced gusts of winds around the old man.

But Cale waved them off. "It's alright," he said and took a bite.

Frantic, the elementals raced off to find the Dragons. While the ghosts stayed behind to watch over him. They knew Cale was in terrible danger.

The Dragons hurried outside the castle as quickly as they could. But it was too late. They found Cale lying unconscious on the floor.

Furious, the Dragons chased the evil White Star through a rainstorm at the Gorge of Death.

When White Star came to the edge of the cliff, he tried to send his Sword of Destruction only for a bolt of lighting, from a furious GoD, to strike him causing him to disintegrate into ashes.

Sadly, the Dragons built a special bed for Cale so they could watch over him night and day. They placed it outside of their castle since they knew that their friend loved to stay outside, basking in the sun.

Then, one day, a prince from another kingdom appeared. His name is Alberu Crossman. He had heard the story of the beautiful Cale Henituse and hoped that he would be the stoic, warm prince he had met long ago. The one who stole his heart. And the one he has been looking for for so long.

When Alberu saw Cale, his heart filled with overflowing joy, love, despair, and sadness. He explained to the Dragons that he knows Cale and his one-time-use Ancient Power, The Healing Star, may be able to help him, however since the ancient power is a part of him, he needs to kiss Cale on the lips for it to work.

The Dragons threatened to destroy his kingdom if he was lying, before reluctantly agreeing.

He knelt down beside Cale and kissed him. Cale's eyes fluttered open and smiled at Alberu. The Dragons, Wind Elementals, and Ancient Ghosts cheered happily.

Alberu courted Cale for a long time, 2 years to be exact before Cale agreed to be his lover.

Their relationship has been going on for 3 years now, and now Alberu is the day he proposes to Cale. Of course with the permission of the Seven Dragons.

Once they were on their daily walked in the garden, he kneeled on one knee and asked, "Cale, my moon that lights up the dark world, would you give this lowly man a chance and marry him?"

"Will you let me be a slacker?"

"Yes, of course."

"Then, yes, I'll marry you."

When Cale said yes, he was overjoyed.

Their wedding occurred a year later, with everyone attending.

They ruled their kingdoms together and lived happily ever after.
