Work Text:

“Thank you, Flim Flam. I’ll see you when I’m in town for my coven’s next meeting.” Vincent spoked as he waved the boy goodbye(because no matter how much time passed, he was going to eternally be that little boy he raised for a year in a werewolf village) and boarded the plane.
“Bye” he turned away, only to think better and turn again.
“And for ghoulness sake, Flim Flam, please, stay out of trouble.”
The boy smiled cheekily at him. “No promises, Vinnie.”
Vincent smiled. “That’s my boy.”

"Well as my last official act as leader I'm calling it off" were the first words the warlock heard as he entered the aircraft cabin and took a seat.
"Huh?" Fred spoke with a bit of surprise and shock as Daphne placed a hand on his shoulder.
"It's what we do best Freddie" the red head spoke.
"I'm not ready to give it up just because we made one tiny mistake!"
"And by the way" she began leaning back, arms crossed. "I'm still not convinced that old Farmer Morgan was totally innocent".
Vincent watch as the brains of their pack Velma poked up from behind them as she begun a list of reasons why Farmer Morgan
was still a potential suspect.
Vincent smiled softly watching the small blended family before feeling a small vibration and pulled out his DiePhone(Still a creative pun if I say so myself) and glanced at the text with only a little mouse emoticon as its name.
"Did they fall for the trap?"
Vincent smiled at his phone. He glanced back at the gang, Fred questioning who was flying the plane since their previous pilot was now offering imitation yak jerky.
“Like ducks to a pond.” He answered.
Looking up, Vincent’s eyes focused ahead, his eyes seemingly looking at something.
Suddenly, time stopped. The plane, and most of its inhabitants, froze in place like a video put on pause. The sky outside the windows was static, the clouds unmoving, as well as the birds. The world was on pause… except for one person.
"Now, you may be wondering what is happening dear reader''
Vincent asked, well, you.

“Well, I will gladly inform you that they have been misled, tricked, utterly bamboozled.”
"Or as dear Fredrick would have put it, Trapped"

With hands locked with one another in his lap, the warlock leaned forward, almost as if to tell you the reader a secret.
"Now you may be wondering, a trap for the scooby doo gang?, why on earth would you trap them?"
Vincent sighs softly, eyes glancing away almost Thinking "To be honest dear reader, this started almost 30 years ago, but that story is for another time. Our story starts three months ago about half a year after dear Norvill sent back the demons chest"
The warlock raised his hand before snapping his fingers and reality went back to the world of the living.
"But of course you'll have to read to find out now wont you?"
As you stroll down the page to see the next paragraph of this sentence and Vincent pockets once again his phone,Daphne blocks his vision with her hand, waving it a palm away from his nose.
“What are you looking at?” she asks, looking at the wall in front of them.
Vincent turns once again to you. Don’t blame the poor girl for not seeing you, dear reader, she still has much to learn.
“Vincent, stop it! There is nothing there!”
So much to learn.
He smiles at her concern “My dear, I’m perfectly fine. My mind was just on… other things.”
He side glanced at you once again, a silent promise that all would be revealed in due time.
Daphne was quiet for a moment, her worry almost palpable. “It’s Quinch, isn’t it.”
That brought Vincent’s attention completely back to the young girl (young woman, he reminded himself. God she had grown up so much since the last time he saw her) with a pained look when thinking about his long time friend.
“Look, I know that it hurts. We heard you when you were talking with Asmodeus… when you thought he was the real thing. You thought he was dead for years. He was your friend, you mourned him.” She sat by his side, her hand a comfortable weight on his shoulder.
“What I’m saying is that it's ok to feel betrayed. To feel sad, mournful even. Except now instead of mourning the loss of a friend, you’re mourning the loss of a friendship.”
Yes, young woman was more fitting than the Daphne he saw now in front of him.
“Thank you, my dear.”

Oh Daphne. If only you knew of what had happen months before.
