Ah, his old adversary stared at him coldly, blankly. "It's really come to this, hasn't it?" the prestigious Chief Prosecutor of LA, Miles Edgeworth, spoke softly. He remembered the years prior, the heart ache coming back to the surface. Those days when he would wince every time Phoenix would sigh and mumble something about Charley, rushing out of his office, out of his bedroom...
Yesterday, Phoenix came in, had made an appointment, for crying out loud, and politely requested that he, the ever busy, the important, Chief, take his time out of his day to "please water Charley, I have to run to Kurain."
Yes, Phoenix trusted no one else for such an important task, and yet even after knowing finally who Charley really was, he couldn't help but feel the pangs of jealously return.
After taking care of Charley for the day, he'd headed over to the plant center in the ...
local Walmart where he decided to pick up some supplies to give to Phoenix to help take care of Charley. He grabbed what he needed and as he was about to check out something caught his eye. It was a plant. One that looked just like Charley. That was when Edgeworth had an idea: he decided he would get his own Charley. Yes, that was just what his office needed. He wasn't an expert on plants, but it couldn't be too hard, could it? He could even ask Phoenix for help. Then he would have the perfect excuse to see Phoenix more regularly.
Miles carefully touched the leaves of Charley 2.0.
"Yes... I'm going to take you home with me" he crooned in his deep baritone. Phoenix won't be able to resist me when he sees that I am a domestic plant Dad"!
But... was just owning a plant enough? Miles had to make sure that he was the embodiment of "plant dad" vibes to impress his beloved.
So that night he switched on private searching and googled the filthy words he never thought he'd type: "plant Dad aesthetic mood board/softcore". He learned many lessons that night... lessons that would stay with him forever!
However despite Miles's research... when the day arrived for Phoenix to meet Charley 2.0 he realized that he had completely forgotten to take care of the original Charley.
He rushed to Wrights office to find Charley lying there, bleeding out its nutrients.
"No!" screamed Miles, "what will I do... what will I tell Wright?"
Dread sunk into his heavy heart.
"I'll have to run away to Europe again."
So Miles took Charley 2.0- the only thing he could face in his shame and moved to Germany- determined to prosecute all plant Dads.
