“This place is so fancy,” you murmured, taking a bite out of your dinner while you glanced around. It was a typical high-end restaurant, adorned with chandeliers, candles, and painting made by famous illustrators. The soft, romantic music playing in the background certainly heightened the mood as well. You wore the best outfit you owned, but even still, you felt... incredibly underdressed.
DJ Grooves, who was sitting across from you, gave a dull chuckle. “Well, fancy is a normal term for movie directors, darling.”
You hummed, and managed to give him a soft smile. “I suppose so... But don’t you ever wish that you could go outside without getting mobbed by a bunch of people, or have cameras flashing in your face?”
DJ Grooves gave a hearty laugh at that. “You’re cute. But... yes, while being famous is nice, it does have its... downfalls.”
You snorted, and tried not to look towards the large window the restaurant had. There were plenty of paparazzi at that window, trying desperately to take pictures of you two. “Tell me about it,” you said, before lightly sipping at your drink.
DJ Grooves waved a flipper towards someone, and one of the waiters went over to the window in that moment. They pulled down the curtain over the window, effectively stopping the paparazzi from taking anymore pictures. “Oh, don’t worry about them, darling. Let’s just enjoy our night, shall we?”
...After a pause, you slowly pouted. “You could’ve gotten someone to pull the curtains down at literally any point, but you only decided to do it now? You’re such an attention seeker...”
DJ Grooves grinned at your teasing, resting his chin on his folded flippers. “What can I say? I’ve gotta let some little news reporter gain popularity too, darling.”
You couldn’t help the giggle that came out of you. “Grooves... you’re so... you’re something else,” you said, giving him an adoring smile.
“I have to be able to be something else at a flip of a dime, darling— I am an actor as well, I hope you know.”
You huffed as your smile widened. “Grooves...”
“What?” He said like he didn’t know what you were talking about. “Am I wrong?”
“...No,” you sighed, acting dramatic.
DJ Grooves chuckled. “That’s what I thought.”
There was a slight lull in the conversation for a few good minutes, until you suddenly thought up of something. “Mmh, when are you releasing your newest movie, Grooves?”
He... sighed deeply, and looked off to the side in contemplation. “Well, I was going to release it on Valentine’s Day, but... production has been a little slow, you see, so that’s obviously not happening.”
You lightly frowned. “I’m sure there’s plenty of people who want to watch a Valentine’s Day movie a week or so after the holiday. It can get a bit hectic on that day, and people may not have time to watch it anyways.”
“I guess you’re right,” DJ Groove said with a soft smile, and you felt your heart jump around in your rib cage.
You gave him a loving smile back, knowing fully well that you were going to enjoy the rest of the evening with him...
