Chapter 1: Part 1: A World W/O Ladybug

Chapter Text

When Ladybug’s final fight with Shadow Moth ended, it did not feel like a victory or even a proper end. There were no revelations, no unmasking, nothing left in the rubble save a peacock broach, an earring, and a broken clock miraculous. Chat Noir searched for any sign of Ladybug, Tikki, or Shadow Moth but no matter how long he looked, he came up empty and soon it was all left to him…

Paris

Marinette stumbled out of the alley and was almost hit by…something. It was bright and fast and gone before she could get a good look at it. Another bright object flashed by her before she could scramble back into the alley. Marinette looked herself over, she was back in her civilian clothes, which meant.

“Tikki?” She checked her ears, there was one but her left ear was bare. “Oh no, Tikki! Tikki!?!”

She looked around the alley a found Tikki curled into a small ball.

“Tikki! Thank goodness!” She picked up the Kwami. “What happened? Why am I detransformed? Are you ok?”

“Ow, when my head stops spinning, I’ll let you know.” The Little Kwami shook her head. “Where are we?”

“As strange as this might sound, Paris.” Hawk Moth said coming out of the shadows and pointing out of the alley at a bright neon city looming up behind a pure white Eiffel tower.

“Get back!” Marinette yelled, “I know…cross stitch!"

"And I'm sure you're very formidable at it." Hawk Moth said walking past her. “But before we resume our little battle, we should gather some information.” His cane started to beep, “And I will need to find food for my kwami. Yours looks a little hungry as well.”

Marinette glanced at Tikki who blushed, “I could use a cookie.”

“Oh sure of course.” Marinette checked for her bag and sighed, “Um well maybe we can find you something at the bakery.” She started to run then stopped to look at Hawk Moth, “Um don’t follow me.”

“I have no intention of following you, little girl.” Hawk Moth smirked. “I’m sure when the time is right our paths will cross again.”

Marinette gulped and backed away before running away. Running through the city, Marinette reached the bakery to find it closed. No surprise it was late. Marinette banged on the door until she saw a light turn on. After a few moments, a woman Marinette did not know opened the door.

“Can I help you miss?” She asked rubbing her eyes.

“Uh yeah actually who are you?!? What are you doing here?” Marinette narrowed her eyes, “Where’s my family?”

The woman looked surprised, “I don’t know where your family is. Look, I’m the owner of this place, it’s been in my family for generations-“

“You’re lying!” Marinette yelled, “This place belongs to my family! What is going on?!?!”

She pushed past her and ran through the dark bakery up to the apartment. She looked around, everything was wrong, even in this light, it was wrong.

"Um, miss! Miss!" The woman ran up, "Miss I don't know who you are, but you can’t just run into my home.”

“You’re home? This is my home I’m Marinette Dupain-Chang and this is my home. What did you do to it?!?”

The woman looked confused, “Miss, you’re clearly under a lot of stress. Let me call the police and we can get this all sorted out.”

“No! This is my house! You’re not telling me what I need to know!”

Marinette shook her head and ran out of the bakery (grabbing a piece of bread on the way out). After that, she wandered the city for hours finding familiar places, new places, changed places. It was all just slightly off, slightly unfamiliar. Finally, just as the sun was starting to rise, Marinette found herself at her secret inspiration place. Curling up in a small corner, Marinette started to cry. She was lost, tired, and without direction or friends. Her mind was completely scrambled jumping from important topics to irrelevant ones.

“Oh, Chat Noir, what I would do right now for one of your terrible jokes.” She muttered.

“Hey, I should let you know my jokes are the peak of comedy.” Said a somewhat familiar voice.

Marinette turned as saw Chat Noir shape sitting on the railing above. “Chaton! Oh, it’s so good to see you!”

She rose to her feet as the hero jumped down to her level. He, like most of the city, looked different, there was more green in his costume, and he was taller, also his green eyes had a glow to them. She took a few steps back.

“You’re not my Chat Noir, are you?” She asked her voice shaking.

“No, I’m sorry. Plagg Claws in.” Chat Noir close his eyes and transformed into a youngish man with bright blue eyes, blue strikes in his blonde hair, and a silver earring in his left tragus. He was wearing a black leather jacket and matching gloves with gray pants. He has a sweet smile and looked very much that while he might think, he did not do it often or well. There was a vacancy in his eyes,  sweet vacancy.

“The name’s Jules and I,” He bowed, “am at your service.”

“Tikki!” Plagg yelled flying over to hug her. “It’s really you! After all this time!”

“And you still smell,” Tikki said flatly, “After all this time.”

“Oh! come on Sugar Cube! Aren’t you happy to see me?” Plagg’s ears dropped. “Did you not miss me?”

“I just saw you this morning while our holders had algaroba. Three hours is hardly enough time to miss you.”

Plagg tilted his head, “Three hours? Sugar cube it’s been over 150 years!”

“150 years! I’ve been gone for 150 years!” Marinette’s head swam. “That means…everyone I’ve ever known and loved is dead,” She looked at Jules, “Even my Chat Noir?”

Jules' frowned, "Yes, unfortunately, that is the case, your Chat Noir passed away decades ago. Peacefully, in his sleep with family. Listen I know this a lot but I need to-“

“What about my friends? Alya? Is she gone too?”

Jules looked away, “I’m afraid the only things left of your era are memories and objects. Everything else is gone.”

“Including Adrien…” Marinette looked down, “Jules was do you know about Adrien Agreste?”

“Um quite a bit, born to Emilie and Gabriel Agreste, turned the Agreste Brand from a fashion brand to one of the leading robotics design companies in the world. Married-“

“Married?!?! He got married! To who? Grrr and I can just bet Chloe or Lilia finally succeeded in winning Adrien’s affection.” Marinette stamped her foot. “Jules! Who did he marry? Do you have a picture of his bride?”

“Why would I have a picture of his bride on me? That seems quite odd and irrelevant for a hero to carry around and even more irrelevant given current circumstance.” He looked around, “Um if you don’t mind I really think we need to-“

“Tell me about Adrien Agreste!” She grabbed his collar. “Please I have to know if Chloe or Lilia succeeded in my absence. I just-he’s got an awful father I don’t want hear he ended up with an awful wife too.”

“I’m not enterally sure who this Chloe or Lilia are but from all records, he loved his spouse madly.”

“I guess that’s *gulp* a bit of a relief.” Marinette smiled, “I’m glad he found someone he loved so much.”

“Marinette!” Tikki scolded, “This situation is more serious than your love life!”

“But this is more entertaining.” Plagg smiled, “I forgot how much fun you two were.”

“How much fun they were?” Jules asked tilting his head. “Plagg you never told me Marinette was fun.”

“You know my name!” Marinette frowned. “How do you know my name?”

“I was told it.” Jules held up his hands.

“Plagg!” Marinette fumed.

“Wasn’t me!” Plagg laughed.

“Then who was it?”

“Oh, I’ll never tell. I can’t if I say his name *bubbles* comes out.”

“Not helping Plagg.” Tikki crossed her arms. “Not at all.”

Plagg nudged Jules’ cheek after “After we get all this set to right, remind me to tell you some stories about your predecessor’s youth they are a hoot.”

“Operative word being after.” Tikki pouted. “We have a big problem here that we have to fix!”

Marinette took a deep breath, “You’re right Tikki! We need to focus and fix this!” She paused and looked at Jules, “I do fix this right?”

“From what my father told me, no.” He gave her a sympathetic look, “but he always believed this was a doomed timeline and you’d reset everything to right put the world back on track which is only horrifying if you think about it.” He smiled. “Try not to think about it.”

“But there’s a chance I could fix everything?”

“As Doc says nothing is ever written in stone.”

“Great.” Marinette nodded, “First things first! We have to find my other earring, so I can fix everything with a lucky charm!” She touched her ear and looked at Tikki, “Unless…can I still transform with one earring?”

“No, we’ll have to find the second earring," Tikki confirmed.

She laughed, “Oh that can’t be that hard 150 years past a small little earing? Easy!”

“If I may-“ Jules started to say but was cut off by Tikki.

“It might be easier to find it if we travel back to when you lost it.”

“Yeah, but how? I don’t have the rabbit miraculous.”

“Ummm.” Jules looked over at Plagg who shook his head.

“Got it!” Marinette clapped her hands. “We use the Butterfly Miraculous! We’ll get it from Hawkmoth make a hero with time travel powers and then we can jump back to the battle I grab my other earring Lucky Charm and fix everything! Simple!”

            “This is simple?” Jules asked.

            “For her yes.” Tikki nodded.

“Ok first things first! Jules!” Marinette began to pace, “Do you know where Hawk Mouth might be?”

“I actually do!” Jules smiled transforming back to Chat Noir, “Come with me!”

He picked her up and it felt like she was being held by a rock. Nothing about Chat Noir’s body gave and he was not all that warm either. Marinette adjusted herself in his arms to be more comfortable as he ran along the new skyline.

“You must work out a lot.” She observed.

"Um me? No, not really. Never saw the point." Chat Noir stopped in front of the police station. "Alright, we're here!"

“They arrested him already?” Marinette blinked, “Police aren’t this efficient in my timeline.”

"Well yeah, he was picked up trying to break into the Fashion Museum, triggered one of the alarms got stunned and now he’s here.” Chat Noir shrugged. “I’m not sure they’re going to let you walk in and just take him but as my daddy says, it’s always better to try the honest way first…then when that goes wrong try a different approach.” Chat Noir punched his palm.

“Let’s try the honest approach first.” Marinette started up the steps. “After all, who could say no to Ladybug?”

.o.

“They said no to Ladybug!” Marinette fumed as they walked away from the Police station.

"To be fair you're not Ladybug at the moment," Jules said narrowly avoiding a trash can. "To them, you're just a girl."

“A girl with a Kwami! Why didn’t you back me up!”

“I did! You saw me tell them who you were!” Jules pouted.

“Yeah, fat lot of good that did me. They looked at you like they had seen a ghost!”

“Yeah, well it’s been a few...years since Paris has seen Chat Noir out and about to save the day so maybe in between now and then they hired new people?”

“They forgot you that fast? How long did Paris miss me then? A week?”

“I think it was six months, then Chat Noir and his new partner stopped Majestia’s evil twin and the city moved on.” He bit his lip, “Hey! Let me buy you breakfast you’re probably hungry! Also exhausted! I could take you back to my house, wait I don’t remember if we have a bed there… Wait better plan! I’ll get you a hotel room! You’d be way more comfortable in one of those than my home. A good meal and a nap will help you think straight.”

Marinette raised an eyebrow then sighed, “I am a bit hungry and tired-Plagg, can I trust him?”

Plagg nodded, “Oh yeah, *bubbles* is a very good egg.”

“Ok, breakfast and then you can take me home to get some sleep.”

Jules frowned, “You’d be more comfortable at a hotel, my living situation is a bit…unorthodox.”

Marinette was honestly too tired to question it. She even fell asleep in her eggs and had to be helped to the hotel and up to her room.

“I’ll be back this evening with a change of clothes, anything else I can get you while you sleep?” Jules asked opening the door.

“Yeah, a phone, some money, and the courage tell Adrien I love him.” Marinette joked closing the door on him. She glanced over at Tikki and then flopped onto the bed. She was asleep in seconds.

.o.

Jules looked at the door then at Plagg, “I get why she would want the money, but why the phone? Who’s she going to call?”

Plagg sighed, "She probably meant a smartphone so she can look things up on the internet."

"Oh, but then she'd need a smartphone and a phone plan instead of just a phone." He paused, "Do you think it's a wise choice to give her those things? I mean the internet might overwhelm her especially if she tries googling her old friends or worse herself.”

“Whether or not it’s a good idea, it would be fun to watch.” Plagg rubbed his paws together.

“Hmmm…I think I should run the smartphone and phone plan past Vee or Sass, they always have good advice.” Jules said walking down the hall. “As for that last thing she wanted, I’ll have to ask Vee about that too.”

“Don’t do that! He always goes with the boring ‘perfect’ option. This is why you never have any fun! You always listen to him!”

“I wasn’t aware I was supposed to have fun. Father always said supporting Ladybug-“

“Of course, he would want you to have fun!” Plagg interrupted, “He gave you me! Remember? If he just wanted, you to complete the mission and help ladybug then you’d be talking to Sass right now or maybe Longg or Duusu okay not Duusu but.” Plagg sat on his head, “Living your life just for the mission so that Ladybug can reset everything is just wasting the life you have! Live a little! Buy her a phone and phone plan and see what happens!”

"Won't she need a smartphone? Regular phones don’t connect to the internet.”

Plagg patted some of his hair down, “Jules has anyone ever told you you’re your father’s son?”

Jules smiled “Daddy used to tell me that all the time.”

            “Well, it’s still true.”

Jules smiled, “Good, I’m always worried when I wake up, I won’t be anymore.”

Plagg sighed and patted his hair.

.o.

Marinette woke up to someone knocking on her door. Sitting up she rubbed her eyes and walked over to the door opening it and finding Jules standing there with his arms full of bags and right on top a phone box.

“You actually got me a phone?” She asked stepping back and letting him walk in.

“Yeah, you said you wanted it, there’s also the paperwork about the phone plan in the bag. Typical stuff, unlimited data, VPN, texting, Oh I even added my number into your favorites…so you have someone to call!” He smiled broadly as he dumped the bags on the bed and handed her the box. “The sticky note is the passcode to get in.”

"It's just four 1s in a row," Marinette said looking at the note.

“I didn’t say it was a good password. You can change it later if you want.”

“Eh not like I’m planning on staying in this time for very long.” She looked at the multiple overflowing bags of clothes. “But apparently, you do.”

“Oh! No-no!” Jules shook his head, “I just didn’t know what you would like since fashion has changed so much Vee suggested I get a vast selection.”

“Who’s V?” Marinette asked picked up one of the shirts, “Is she your girlfriend? Your own Ladybug of the 22ndcentury?”

"Um, Vee's my brother. Vee’s short for Vern. I don’t have a girlfriend or a ladybug, since you know, you were sent to this time with Tikki, no one’s had a Ladybug.” He paused, “Speaking of Vee once your cleaned up I really should take you-“

“To Hawk Moth, I know I was thinking about that, and all we really need in the butterfly miraculous so what if you go in and ask for that. We don’t need the man just the butterfly! So we’ll just go to the station and ask for it.”

            "Um, we can’t do that.”

"Why not? Ok, the new plan you sneak in and steal it out of evidence and then-"

            “They let him go.”

            “What?!? Why?”

“Statute of limitation ran out on all his crimes. They couldn’t hold him for anything but light trespassing and considering the circumstance it wasn’t really a malicious act, so they let him go.” Jules did a motion where one of his fingers walked off the other arm. "Well not exactly let him go, they contacted one of his last living relatives to come and collect him.”

“But-But He’s Hawk Moth! And they just? How could they?!? He’s a terrorist?”

“It’s been a while since Paris dealt with him maybe they forgot about how bad he was? Or rather never knew? No one really talks about Hawkmoth…or you.”

“Yeah, it's all Chat Noir hero of Paris, right?” Marinette rolled her eyes.

“Well yeah, me and the other heroes depending on the threat. Vee gets a lot of press too! When they notice him.”

“A bit of a glory hound, are we? Wait! other heroes. You have other miraculous heroes running around?”

“Um not currently, only when needed then when that happens Vee gives out the right miraculous and puts them right back after the danger has passed." Jules nodded, “It’s very organized.”

“So, this V, he’s got all the other miraculous?”

“Um yeah, He’s the guardian.” Jules scratched the back of his head, “I’m just the guy who breaks stuff and smiles for the camera and gets people not to riot about all the collateral damage…I’m also the one who-“

“Great! I need to meet him, and I need him to bring a very specific miraculous.” She slammed her fist into her palm.  “You can set up the meeting, right?”

            “Yes, but-“

“Good! Eiffel Tower is a good place!” Marinette pulled out a black and red dress made of velvet. “tell him to meet us in an hour and bring the Rooster Miraculous, I can use that power to have the power of tracking then we can hunt down Hawk Moth and get the butterfly to make a time travel hero, go back to the fight find my earring and reset all of this! Brilliant! No?”

“Um, look I know you’re known for convoluted plans that somehow work out, but I feel you’re missing the Kwamis for the powers.” He tapped his fingers together, “I mean I could just take you to Vee or give you the earring and then-“

“Vee knows where my earing is?”

“Yes, it was one of the things your Chat Noir found and kept with him until he passed it down." Jules pulled out his phone, "I think I have a picture of Chat Noir with the earring on here somewhere…Oh, I forgot I had that picture! Aw, want to see a picture of my father trying to clean gum out of V’s hair?”

“Uhhh no, I don’t.” Marinette grabbed various items and vanished into the other room to quickly change. “Ok, take me to your brother so I can get my earring back.”

“Okay.” He typed something on his phone. “And sent!”

            “He knows we’re coming?”

“No, I sent him the picture, he knows we’re coming already…because that’s what I’ve been trying to get you to do since I found you at the park." He paused, “but you definitely needed a nap. You were crabby.”

Marinette sighed, “You’re descended from my Chat Noir, aren’t you?”

“Yup, A direct descendant.” He smiled. “I got his hair and ring, V got his eyes and perfectionist tendencies, and we both got his kind heart…at least that’s what my daddy said.”

Marinette nodded, “Yeah, I can see that." She smoothed her dress down, "How do I look?"

“You look-good, you look good.” Jules nodded, “Well let’s go meet Vee and get your earring back." He made a face that soon passed.

.o.

Vern "Vee" Agreste guardian of the mother box and holder of the snake miraculously paced around the dusty unused forgotten attic of the Agreste Manor. Now a museum dedicated to the fashion of Paris with a small section dedicated to the almost forgotten Hero Ladybug, it was just as cold and lifeless as it had been when Gabriel walked the halls. Vee growled and checked his watch.

“I knew I should have gone with Jules! He’s too polite for his own good and too trusting.” He looked over at Sass, “Do you think I should go out and check on him? Father probably would have, told me to check on him. Agh! I was told to watch him and here I am not watching him!”

“Relax Master Vee, Jules is a capable hero he’ll be fine. After all the years you two have guarded Paris, I think he’s earned your trust.”

“It’s not that I don’t trust him, I do, I just know him. He grew up hearing stories about Ladybug and idolizing her and I just-I worry he’ll trust her too much, that’s all.” Vee sighed, “I mean she’s only human, and she vanished! What if she’s not the person we were raised to believe she is? I mean if all goes to plan, and she resets everything we no longer exist! We don’t die we vanish! We all vanish!” He checked his phone which was a picture of him struggling with his father to get some gum out of his hair. He smiled then frowned, “I don’t want this to vanish.”

Sass patted his shoulder, “Vee, Ladybug is a kind soul, and while we cannot demand a kind fate I cannot imagine one being so cruel as to wipe you completely away.”

"Thanks, Sass," Vee said patting his Kwami.

Suddenly the old butterfly widow opened, and Chat Noir jumped in holding a girl in a red and black dress.

“Ta-da! The attic!” Chat Noir announced, “Not as interesting or creepy as the basement but it’s where Vee likes to hang out when we’re up and about.”

“What? I don’t like sewers or being near them.” Vee looked at the girl and bowed, “Ladybug I presume?”

.o.

The first thing Marinette noticed about Vee was his eyes, they were bright green and stood out against his pale skin and black hair. Unlike his brother’s short wild hair, Vee had long hair pulled back into a neat braid with green strikes perfectly distributed in the three sections. Instead of blacks and grays, Vee wore browns and creams. He seemed like the calm on the outside chaos on the inside type. Marinette had no doubt Vee had broken several hearts.

"Um yeah, that's me." Marinette waved, “You’re Vee the new guardian, right?”

            “At your service.” He nodded.

“Great! Can I have my earring back?”

            “You’re what?” Vee blinked.

“My earring, Jules said you had my earring.”

Vee narrowed his eyes, “He did, did he?”

“I never said that exact phrase. I just said I could take you to Vee OR give you the earring back. She chose to see you.”

Vee’s eye twitched, “Jules give her the earring.”

“You had it the whole time?!?”  Marinette whirled around to face him, “And you said nothing?”

“I tried to, but you kept interrupting with crazy plans and orders I just gave up. Better to give up than be rude. Manners make-ith man after all.”

“Well, your manners make-ith me frustrated," Marinette growled holding out her hand. "My earring, please."

Chat Noir nodded and took the silver earring out of his ear and handed it to her. “Here you go.”

“Thank you.” Marinette closed her hand on the object and sighed in relief as it changed to match her other one. She put it on and without a second thought transformed. “Yes! Perfect.” Marinette said checking herself over. “Right now, to use my power and fix everything.”

The two boys look at each other then back at her.

"Um, don't you have to solve a problem first?" Jules asked.

“I did, I found my earring.” She pointed to her ear, “No what I need to do is use my Lucky Charm!” She threw her yo-yo in the air and produced a small dollhouse, “and now I’ll just use this to reset everything and say goodbye to this weird timeline," She looked at the dollhouse, "You know the first thing I'm going to do when I get back?"

            “What?” Vee asked.

“I’m going to go right up to Adrien and tell him I love him,” She nodded to herself, “And time will get back to how it’s supposed to be, not…whatever is happening here.”

“Um Marinette, I know you’re excited to go home, but maybe be a little more sensitive?” Chat Noir cringed, “I mean when you reset everything there’s a good chance you’ll erase us, everything here, too.”

She paused for a moment, “Yeah but if that’s what fixing the time requires, then.”

“That’s what it requires.” Vee nodded walking over to Chat Noir and taking his hand.

“Maybe you two will exist in the new timeline too. After all, if you are Chat Noir's great-grandsons or something then I see no reason you won't if I fix everything.” Ladybug smiled before throwing the house up in the air and yelling, “Miraculous Ladybug!”

Ladybug closed her eyes and waited for the feeling of magic ladybugs to take her home. She felt the whoosh of magic and opened her eyes to see herself standing in the attic with Vee and Chat Noir looking at her.

Chat Noir looked around, “Wow, that was underwhelming but hey! We still exist! Feel any different Vee?”

Vee looked at his hands, “No, just the same.”

“But-but-the ladybugs they did nothing.” Ladybug slumped to the floor, “I’m still here.”

“Yeah! You’re still here!” Chat Noir cheered, “Which is great because your Chat Noir left like a lot of video recordings for you and now those won’t go to waste! Also, Paris probably needs you now that we have hobo-Hawkmoth running around! Oh, does this mean we get to do the famous pound it? And if you want, I can even sacrifice flowers to you! Oh! Not to mention with three people we can finally have a decent game of monopoly.” Chat Noir carried on unaware of anyone else.

Ladybug felt numb and looked over at Vee. “I’m stuck here. My plan didn’t work”

“For the moment,” Vee nodded, “But from what I remember from my parents’ stories you never let the failure of your first plan stop you from trying your second.”

Ladybug was quiet for a moment then nodded, “You’re right, I need a new plan, I just need some inspiration or better yet,” She looked at Vee, “A different approach. Vee, are you the current guardian?”

“Yes, I have the box and the miraculous.” He smiled, “Would you like to see them?”

“Actually, I’d like to use one of them.”

            “Oh, which one?” Vee asked.

            “The Rabbit kind sir.”

“Oh, you want the broken one…” Vee gulped, “That’s unfortunate.”

            “It’s broken?!?”

“Yeah, it was that breaking that sent you all the way here. Or at least that’s what Chat Noir guessed after he found the pieces.”

Ladybug thought for a moment, “Oh yeah, I was running to give the miraculous to Alix when I was hit by the Akuma victim. How did that fight end?”

“Chat Noir cataclysmed the Akuma and then everyone waited for you to come back, which you just did.” Vee gulped. “Over a century and a half later.”

Ladybug looked around, “It doesn’t feel like people waited at all. According to Jules, no one knows Ladybug any more."

“There are still those that do. Jules and I for example and I’m sure more will.” He started to walk to the elevator, "Would you like to see the miraculous? I'm sure all the other Kwami's would be excited to see you. Right, Sass?"

“They would most certainly be delighted to see you and Tikki," Sass confirmed.

“Great! Um,” She looked over at Jules who was still naming stuff. “Should we?”

"Nah he'll catch up once he realizes it's only him and Plagg up here," Vee smirked.

"No offense, but he doesn't seem the type to catch on very quickly," Marinette said detransforming and feeding Tikki a cookie.

Vee chuckled and motioned her into an elevator. “You’d be surprised he’s actually quite intelligent when he’s in his element.”

“And what’s his element?” Marinette said leaning against the wall of the elevator.

“He’s a pro at brightening people’s day.” Vee smiled, “Also the best robotic engineer to ever hold a screwdriver.”

“Huh, my sewing machine is broken do you think he could fix it for me?”

            “Probably, what happened to it?”

“I dropped it…of the roof because your ancestor scared me.”

“So that’s why he apologized about the sewing machine in the old recordings. Jules and I always wondered about that.”

            “Recordings?”

"Yeah, your Chat Noir left you hours of recordings. He made one at least once a year until he died. I hope you don’t mind but Jules and I watched some of them.”

Marinette shrugged. “He was your ancestor I would seem cruel to keep that from you. So where are we headed?”

“The creepy basement, it’s the only part of the house, besides the attic that isn't a museum."

“I now get the unorthodox comment Jules said earlier.” She looked at Vee who was frowning at his phone. “What is it?”

Vee looked up from his phone, “There’s an Akuma attack. We might just get you home today after all.”
