Chapter 1
Accidentally in Love
Just as before, the opening scene is dark. The only provided light is set upon a new storybook, the front cover opened to the first page of a new story as a new voice narrates.
Once upon a time, in a kingdom of Far, Far Away, the king and queen had been blessed with a beautiful daughter after their first son. Throughout the kingdom, everyone had cheered warmly for the new princess.
That is until after sunset, the king and queen were shocked to discover that their daughter had been cursed with a fearful enchantment that took hold of her every night.
Out of desperation, they sought the aid of the leader of an organization known as R, who instructed them to lock the princess and a chosen guardian up in a tower of the Dragon Wizard’s keep. And there she would await the kiss of the handsome and fearless Prince Victor Ketsueki.
The scene changes to a vast forest, a horse’s whine is heard on the wind as a lone figure, covered from head to toe in sturdy armor, rides through the many regions to reach the Dragon Wizard’s keep.
For he alone would chance the perilous journey through blistering cold and scorching desert, traveling many tiring days and nights to infiltrate the Dragon Wizard’s keep to save the princess.
Arriving at the keep, the rider removes his helmet, revealing himself as Prince Victor as he continues to narrate his story. “For he was known as the bravest and most handsome in all the land. And it was destiny that his kiss would be what breaks the curse.”
However, as he climbs up to the highest room in the tallest tower of the keep, he has no idea of what he’ll be finding there and it’s not the princess he’s been sent to save. Reaching the room, Victor pulls the canopy silk curtains aside to find himself in shock to find someone else laying in the bed.
Ismelda glares at Victor for interrupting her nap. “Are you Princess Midnight Collins?”
“No!” Ismelda snaps.
What a relief. “Where is she?”
Repositioning herself to get back to her nap, Ismelda answers with an annoyed tone. “She’s on her honeymoon.”
“Honeymoon? With whom?” Prince Victor had not expected to find out that his princess is out of his grasp.
It’s a late morning in a small field. Talbott finishes setting up a camera to film a video for the others back home. The camera set to record, Talbott steps away to reveal a small, quaint cottage with Midnight, a smile across her face, waves to the camera until Talbott scoops her up, causing Midnight to squeal in delight.
Holding his new wife close, Talbott gently kicks the front door open, carrying Midnight inside the place they are staying for their honeymoon.
So she said
what’s the problem, baby?
What’s the problem?
I don’t know
Being set back on her feet, Midnight notices a few delivered boxed chocolates. Opening one box as Talbott came up behind her, enveloping her in a hug, Midnight leaned her head against his shoulder, exhaling in content before giving her beloved a piece of chocolate.
Well, maybe I’m in love
Being alone together for a couple weeks, the pair would often switch between their three forms. On some days, while Midnight would meditate, Talbott, as an eagle, would be nestled on her shoulder and wrap in her hair, napping. When he’s reading or writing poetry, as a cat, Midnight would be curled up in his lap, purring.
Think about it
every time I think ‘bout it
Can’t stop thinking ‘bout it
Then in their midforms, they would have sessions of them grooming each other affectionately in the mornings.
How much longer
will it take to cure this?
Just to cure it,
‘cause I can’t ignore it
As noon approaches, a young witch in a red hood arrives at the cottage, making a new delivery for the newlyweds. Talbott had suggested a delivery to have a picnic planned for Midnight at a small, nearby beach.
If it’s love, love
Makes me wanna turn around
and face me
But I don’t know nothing
‘bout love
Oh, come on, come on
Now that the order has been delivered, the witch knocks on the door before leaving to make more deliveries. Answering the door after the witch already left, Talbott smiles to see his order arrive.
Picking up the basket but keeping it hidden, Talbott calls for Midnight. “Hey loving kitty, be sure to change into some swimwear. I have a surprise planned.”
This caused Midnight to perk up with curiosity. “What kind of surprise, sweety bird?”
“You’ll see soon.”
Turn a little faster
Come on, come on
The world will follow after
Come on, come on
Keeping the basket hidden for a moment, Talbott also changes into his swimwear, some dark blue swim trunks with white ravens, a black tank and black sandals. Then his enhanced hearing allowed him to hear Midnight coming down the stairs in small wedge sandals.
Ready, he takes out the basket and bamboo mat, surprising Midnight that he has planned for a picnic. Holding his offered arm, the two leave the cottage and make the trek down to the beach.
Everybody’s after love
Picking the perfect spot, Midnight holds the basket as Talbott sets the bamboo mat down before they sat together after Midnight removed her swimwear cover to reveal a blue one piece with the same white raven design, opening the lid of the basket to see some perfectly cooked chicken done rotisserie style with a side of fresh salad and homemade blackberry pie.
Before taking a bite of her chicken, she sets the leg down on a plate and Midnight pounces Talbott, pinning him on his back as he holds her close until their lips meet. The kiss didn’t break when a wave washed over the two, Midnight cupping Talbott’s face.
So I said
I’m a snowball running
Running down into this spring
that’s coming all this love
Breaking the kiss with a loud pop, they both got lost in each other’s deep gaze before sharing an Eskimo kiss.
Melting under blue skies
belting out sunlight
Later that night, Talbott had taken Midnight to town to check on a new ring he had commissioned. The ring would have a special feature that no matter her form, the ring would always fit perfectly.
Shimmering love
Well, baby, I surrender
To the strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love
The ring is ready. With a grin, Talbott slips the new ring on her wedding finger, Midnight smiling as the words “I love you” appear in a beautiful golden cursive. Returning her smile, knowing that she loves the ring, Talbott brings Midnight closer in his loving embrace, her head on his chest to hear his heartbeat.
Well, I didn’t mean to do it
But there’s no escaping your love
The next day, Talbott and Midnight playfully chase each other in a field of sunflowers, the feather necklace he had given her during their last journey together swaying from one side to the next as she ran, laughing.
These lines of lightning
mean we’re never alone
Never alone, no, no
Come on, come on
Jump a little higher
Come on, come on
If you feel a little lighter
Come on, come on
Changing into their mid forms as they run into a forest, Midnight leaps into the trees, teasing Talbott that he can’t catch her. Smirking after his sneaky wife, Talbott states before taking flight, “Oh, two can play at this game.”
All the while they easily avoid any hunters attempting to catch the two animagi.
We were once upon a time in love
We’re accidentally in love
Climbing the highest point of the tallest tree in the forest, Midnight opens her arms to her beloved as he hovers in place, having caught up with her. Joining her on the thick branch, Talbott wraps his beloved in his arms as they kiss right before the dumb founded hunters, in total shock that those two easily evaded them.
Accidentally in love
Accidentally in love
Accidentally in love
Accidentally in love
That night, Talbott and Midnight relax in a hot spring, countless fairies providing the right amount of light for them. Talbott holding her close with her back to his chest, Midnight had started to purr in content. “You’re cute when you purr.” Talbott whispers into her ear with affection.
With a smile, Midnight turns her head enough to kiss him on his neck, causing him to shiver in delight. The fairies couldn’t help but sigh at the romance between them.
Accidentally in love
During the last night of their honeymoon, Talbott and Midnight do a ballroom dance in a meadow under the full moon light, the birds and woodland creatures providing the music and a couple deer even prance about. As their dance comes to an end, Midnight moves closer as they kiss deeply, her fingertips on his neck as he holds her.
Accidentally
I’m in love, I’m in love,
I’m in love, I’m in love
I’m in love, I’m in love
The next morning, Talbott holds Midnight close with one arm as they return to the glade, their home, letting out deep sighs.
Accidentally in love
I’m in love
“It’s so good to be home!” Talbott exclaims, Midnight agreeing.
