Chapter Text
"Wrecker?"
Wrecker groggily glanced up from where he had been snoozing, blinking his eyes to clear his vision. After a second, he saw Omega standing in front of him. Smiling slightly (he always loved to hang out with the kid), he answered her. "Yah? What's up kid?"
She didn't answer him immediately, instead looking at the ground and shifting from foot to foot. This confused Wrecker; normally, the kid was really eager to talk to him about basically anything. He didn't understand why she would be this hesitant all of a sudden. He pulled himself up straighter from his previous slouch in the navi-computer chair, causing Omega to look back up at him. He took the chance and re-addressed her. "What is it? You can ask me."
"Well..." The kid shifted around again uneasily. "Why do you think I don't have an inhibitor chip? You know, like how you guys and all the other clones do."
Wrecker blinked in surprise. This wasn't what he was expecting her to ask. He wasn't even sure what the answer was.
"I dunno," Wrecker began, and seeking her disappointed face he quickly added, "but it doesn't matter. Sure couldn't have been that important a reason."
"I would likely say it is related to your mutations." Tech piped up from the corner of the room. His voice was so sudden and unexpected that both Wrecker and Omega jumped slightly, as neither of them had seen their brother walk in. Turning to the newcomer, Omega retaliated. "What do you mean?"
"Well, you are not exactly a clone trooper." Tech stated. "It is highly likely that upon seeing your mutations, the Kaminoans decided not to equip you with an inhibitor chip, and instead decided to commission you as medical personnel. I am not sure, however, as to why they did not recycle your genetic material, as is their norm. I would say you are very lucky."
"Yeah, I guess..." Omega mumbled, weakly smiling at the two of them. She perked up suddenly. "Yeah, I guess I am! Because then I got to meet you guys!"
Wrecker chuckled. "Yah, I'm glad ya did. You're a great part of our team." He leaned forwards and ruffled her hair, and she whirled around, a grin on her face. "Hey!"
Wrecker smirked as she ducked away from his hand and ran off, giggling, "I'll get you back later!"
