Nobody who knew Rachel or Carol would have known who they truly were, but when they walked hand in hand into the sea it was easy to pretend they were simply swimming, what nobody saw was Carol curling into Rachel’s tentacles, settling herself onto one even as she rode the pace, Rachel was always careful with her mermaid princess, breeding her only when she was sure it wouldn’t take, but she knew that should they need to, the local policeman would take the blame.
They seemed normal to the people in Aidensfield, a long owned country town that hid plenty strange creatures, but after Carol’s father had forbidden Carol to be with Rachel the two took to the seas of Whitby to make love, the sea-witch and her princess. Hidden but happy.
